Bill Polian on Bills coaching and more....
C.Biscuit97 replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well of course you don’t. ? what has Beane done to show he is some great powerful front office type? He was a PR intern whose friend got him a great promotion after he got a head coaching job. I’m sure if they are debating on a player, Beane will definitely make the call. Mcdermott will totally let him. I definitely believe that. And that hat is the whole problem with how dumb the hiring process has been under the Peguals. They had Whaley be the GM, yet never let him hire coaches. Then, they hire the Coach, keep Whaley through the draft, fire him, and then hire SM’s friend. It certainly leads you open to criticism if it doesn’t work. I love the Pegulas but they have made very bad hiring decisions so far as sports owners. I hope they are learning from their mistakes. Hire a GM and let him build the team. Agree 100%. That’s why I thing he is running the team because our defensive moves have been mainly good while the offensive ones suck. I think SM is an average coach, like most coaches in the nfl. But I feel he could be successful if he had a strong GM and he just focused on coaching. -

McDermott is doing the same thing! He is running this show. -
Is Dion Dawkins better at LT or LG

That’s a lot of moves. Good olines are ones they have continuity. You basically are building a complete new oline with that. There would be some struggles big time early in the year. -
These coaching changes killed him. I thought he was going to be a real solid piece after his rookie year. Personally, I’d rather keep a youngish olinemen with some potential than create another hole.

I mean G is an easier position to play because you aren’t on an island like you are a T. It’s why Ts get paid more. So I’m guessing he would be better at LG. But he is fine at OT, though he may never come close to being an all pro. In a perfect world, you get a better LT and you can move Dawkins to RT or G. But it’s not the biggest concern right now. -

I think McDermott, who was hired before Beane and essentially got Beane hired, makes the final call on every decision. It’s why 99.9% of teams, especially successful ones, have the GM hire the coach and not the other way around. -

Review Dick Jauron’s rosters and his record. Polian is the best GM in franchise history but the game has passed him by a long time ago. See the last NFL team he worked with. He’s actually pretty good in sports he is well versed in like basketball and Soccer. The guy has a crazy work ethic and seems like he works 24 hours a day. But his football takes are terrible. Beane = McDermott -
Report: Bills working on extension for Jordan Phillips

I will never question his talent. But it does seem like he doesn’t always want to be a team guy. It should be a huge red flag Miami released a guy that early who was drafted that high. He could have really hurt us in the Miami game where he tried to make it all about himself. that said, I’d rather have a guy with too much fire than not enough. But I would be careful with paying him too much right now. -
I know man. It’s tough. But the nfl has a real problem with this and it looks super hypocritical when you consider some of the other stuff they are tough on. I don’t think drunk driving, drugs, or other stuff like that good but it’s a completely different animal. personally, I don’t think women beaters or child touchers really change. I would disgust me to cheer for someone like that. I couldn’t separate it.

Yup, said this earlier. Josh Reed was slow and small. His best ability was catching, which he then began to struggle with. Very similar to Zay though Zay is bigger. it was a bad pick and an awful trade up. Still it’s a sunken cost and a 3rd receiver does have value. But man, no trades up for Mahomes and JuJu would have been pretty cool.

Wow, the nfl is pretending to care about women beaters as much as marijuana smokers. So progressive. he wasn’t a little kid when he did this. He was one if the best high school recruits in the country and started pounding a helpless women. I’d rather have the Bills lose than have a scumbag like that in our team. Some things are more important than winning. But don’t worry. Some trash bag franchise like the Cowboys or Bengals will draft him in the first round. Plastic faced Jerry Jones has surgery to remove his soul. I would bet that guys who hit women once have a very high rate of repeating the actions. I’m very good with second chances for certain crimes but guys who beat women or touch kids (see that Orrin state player) don’t deserve second chances to make millions of dollars. Plenty of other careers for them.

1) he was at Alabama. Not exactly a JUCO program. 2) they cut him based on his college production and his preseason performance, they got very lucky with Foster and he will have a lot to prove since he will be more known this year. But it’s sometimes better to be lucky than good so hopefully he turns into something.

Yeah, I know he gets type cast, but Hogan is a pretty good vertical threat.

Only 2,500 more yards and 16 tds and D’Rick will be there! personally, I’d struggle to bash a guy who started for the best team in nfl history for multiple seasons when I wanted him cut for a guy who had 3 career nfl catches. You know you’re one of my favorite posters but this is kinda petty. Hogan isn’t a star but he’s a better career than the vast majority of more talented receivers. I’d love to have his resume.
