I was pretty young for those years so I looked them up and a couple interesting things 1) Jerry Reese, the former Giants GM, was a receiver for us. 2) Collins first year as a true starter was also exactly like Allen’s passing wise. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CollTo00.htm 3) was Moulds’ 1995 season the most dominant receiving season in Bills’ history?

The trade up for Zay is one if the worst draft day decisions in a long time. I hated it at the time (loved JuJu who was drafted after the Bills original pick) and it is even worse after you see how good Kupp is. That said, he has a value as a shaky 2 or solid 3 receiver. Like the Bengals with Ross, what do you really gain by letting him go now? He has low trade value. so unless he fights for Jesus again or some dumb team makes a dumb offer, you are better off keeping him.

I believe it was the last time I every broke something in my house watching the Bills. But honestly, who cares? It was an amazing play call. also, on kickoff team, I was the 2nd guy from the sideline. Your job there is to stay outside the hashmarks; don’t chase the ball; and wait for reverses/ throwbacks. Your instinct is to chase the ball but it is a super important job and because whoever the contain person was then, cost the Bills a playoff win. oh and RJ completely sucked that game.

Report: Bengals looking to trade WR John Ross

They still had Boyd and Eifert. Using a top 10 pick on an non #1 receiver seems like a bad invest for a team that was a playoff contender. and people are right about not bidding too high of a pick. Maybe a player (hi Cincy, Ducasse is a great player and an even better guy)? But I don’t know why you get rid of Ross for a low round pick unless he is super dumb or had major injury concerns. -
Bills rumored to be a suitor for OG Roger Saffold

A failed OT who turned into a really good G. It would be a good signing. I will say the track record of paying big Guys to come to/ stay in Buffalo isn’t great. -
Golden Tate would “love to play for the Patriots”

I mean, why won’t he? Sadly, he would be perfect for them. -

He can’t stay healthy seems to be the main issue. But you’re right, there probably is more to the story if they are giving up on him this quick. -

I was never a Mariota fan before the draft (gimmicky offense and he got hurt a lot). But I thought he was borderline awesome his 2nd year. I don’t know what happened. -

I was saying Dalton would be the 2nd best qb in Bills history (I only go back to the 90s in fairness). I guess Jack Kemp was pretty good from what I heard, though blindly looking at his stats shows Dalton was far superior. -

That’s fair. But to pick a MVP when you have a solid, playoff type qb takes some big ones. And as much crap as Dalton gets, he might be the 2nd best qb in Bills history. -

But that’s why the KC move was so risky and genius. Most teams don’t do that. And obviously, they won the lottery with Mahomes. -

I mean, the Bengals would be idiots to do that but why not. I don’t get why teams look to move sunken costs for crappy draft picks. Teams overrate lower draft picks. -

I’m not saying Andy Dalton is great. But he is a qb that has been to playoffs multiple times so it makes a lot more sense why they would have passed on Mahomes. Still, I didn’t get the Ross pick for them. It didn’t seem like a huge need. It’s weird because he did have that combine time but he’s become a weird red zone threat. He had 7 tds on 21 catches and 210 yards. That’s like TE numbers, not small fast guy stats. -
Message boards are the best. You can pretend every school in the country wanted you as a 5 star high school recruit; or that you started for one of the best teams in college; or you made the top 1% of your profession and made millions in it. Keep up the good work Matt. We all believe you are super successful!

Nerds But seriously, good for nerds for getting involved in football. I think the key is finding the balance between analytics and old fashion scouting. Sites like PFF have value but they often are very flawed in their analysis (not knowing playcalls or assignments for individual players is a big one). Also, in an emotional game like football, blind numbers don’t work like they do in baseball. still, what can it hurt if used in a vacuum. ? -

I will say, when’s he not hurt, he finds a way to score. Shocking pick though he was a good player in college. Personally, I think it would be stupid for the Bengals to trade him now since his value is so low. But if it was for a 3rd or later, I’d be really interesting (depending on his physical). I love former 1st round picks who struggle on their first team.
