I’m not arguing that Barkley should start over Allen. My point was in a true open competition, it’s very easy for a veteran to look better than a 2nd year qb, especially one learning a brand new offense. I just don’t know why there is a rush to try to label qbs as busts. It’s literally the hardest position to learn in sports and we expect guys to master it in a couple of years. Fitz is a great example of this. Dude had his best year in year 10.

I know you’re kidding but he’s actually a pretty good story. He was on a bad path, got diagnosed with mental health issues, went to counseling and therapy, and hasn’t had an issue since. It’s pretty damn impressive.

Don’t they have the best oline coach in the nfl? Like by all accounts, he is the best position coach in the nfl. I freely admit I don’t watch o linemen so I have no idea how good he is. If you o line guys think he was going to get cut, better to get something for him.

Don’t you have to be good to request a trade? He had had the most amazing start of any rookie I can remember. And he got severely overrated and has been an average at best player since. What a wizard Whaley was for getting McCoy for Kiko.
