  1. If you blindly bet under on team win totals of 10 or more and over on teams with totals of 5 or more, you hit like 60% of the time. If they Bills go 11-6 they fall under their Vegas win totals, and 11-6 is still a great season. Sharp is fantastic when it comes to dissecting analytics and playcalling trends, but this is just low hanging fruit.
  2. The Bills are not getting an alternate uniform/helmet this year, correct?
  3. The same reason you rarely see torn labrum injuries in QBs as a result of throwing. The arm path is completely different and the overall stress on the UCL isn’t near the same as a baseball player. Every pitch is thrown with maximum intent and passes in football are not. The power generated through the kinetic chain from ankle flexion all the way through hip and shoulder separation to external rotation in the shoulder then finally into the elbow is exponentially higher in baseball. I have Modus data to back this up but it’s just charts and graphs and not great for this format. For a visual just imagine in your head how a pitcher finishes off every pitch and how a QB finishes every throw. One is considerably more violent than the other. Pitchers have much more in common with javelin throwers than QBs when it comes to arm and shoulder stress and studying javelin throwing was how many breakthroughs in velocity happened. And as many people have mentioned in this thread, the overall difference in the number of reps in a game or practice is vast. Without taking into account spring and offseason work a starting professional pitcher will throw 5000ish pitches in season. Even the most sparsely used relievers will throw at a volume that QBs just don’t see.
  4. It says ATM right on daggum helmet.
  5. Lol Fangio is an elite DC who's scheme isn't stuck in the 80s. Other than that, great reply.
  6. You said you wanted a top 10 rushing attack. A top 10 rushing attack doesn't correlate to winning a thing, passing does, and even more than that it's early down success rate. So yes, it's neanderthal thinking and out of touch with what matters. If the line protects Josh like they did the last month the offense will continue to be elite.
  7. You’re aware it’s 2022 and not 1993, correct? This is idiotic.
  8. Ah yes cherry pick one (1) game and draw conclusions. I bet you were well aware that the word is he played that game despite being Covid positive right? Did you watch the next game against Michigan and the Bama rematch? Totally different dude. I doubt you “watched him plenty” by any stretch of the imagination.
  9. Pretty sure it's actually a very good DB class especially for 4-7 that will have first round grades on them.
  10. Eh Davis only played 45% of defensive snaps because Georgia had so many freaks on that line, so using counting stats is not the proper way to grade him at all.
  11. I think we're delusional if we think Linderbaum will be there. He's much much more likely to go top 10 than fall to 25. Kyler Gordon or Ahmad Gardner would be my choices to pair with Tre. I don't think Elam will be there at 25 if I had to guess. Gordon intrigues me from a size and versatility stand point and Gardner is the most productive DB in this class by a mile.
  12. Kyler Gordon out of Washington is who I want. He's a physical freak though and I feel like he might test to a point where he shoots up draft boards.
  13. Agreed. Johnson is a beast in the slot and Tre is Tre. I'd love to see them use their first rounder on someone with CB2 potential.
  14. Fangio isn't a "very good" DC, he's one of the two best in the sport imo. His scheme also give Mahomes as much trouble as a scheme can give him. It's probably not realistic because it would challenge many things McDermott has done as a DC in his career and I'm not sure he's up for that. However, Fangio does run a 2 high shell most of the time, doesn't blitz much, but he varies the fronts and where pressure comes from down to down. With the cap situation going forward it might be the best shot at building a defense to beat Mahomes, but it's more of a pipe dream than anything I bet.
  15. The only way to defend the Chiefs is with a 2 high shell. It's what gave them trouble when they stumbled early this year. For examples of what happens when you "don't play scared" and send pressure or play single high go look at what Mahomes did to the Raiders this year.
  16. I agree and it's a shame. Sometimes in order to get better you have to let go of your deeply held beliefs in this sport. Nick Saban is the perfect example, he realized he was behind the times on offense and he completely changed and it's made him even more successful. I think Fangio would do amazing things for this org and give them their best shot to beat Mahomes next year.
  17. McDermott's defense is fine, but I think it can be too vanilla and without Tre it simply wasn't good enough at the corners to hold down the first passing offense they faced with a pulse since his injury. It's one thing to sit in a 2 deep shell when you have a top 3 DB locking down half of the field, but when that's the only trick you have, it gets exposed if that DB depth is tested. With Josh's cap hit about to jump you can't go out and spend a ridiculous amount on defense because you have to make sure you surround your franchise player with talent and protection. However, if they go make Fangio the highest paid coordinator in football and let him re-imagine this defense I think it can actually be elite. This is clearly a Super Bowl roster but they need to give themselves more of a shot against Mahomes because he's not going anywhere either. It would also be nice if McDermott pulled his head out and stopped surrendering with punts on 4th and 2 from the 45 when the opponent hasn't stopped Josh Allen all night, but that's another topic.
  18. Passing is correlated to winning football games at 4X compared to running. If anything they ran too much early on in the year. Even with Motor Singletary's emergence the last 6 weeks, he still doesn't have great vision. He missed some big yard opportunities tonight because he missed cut back lanes. Going into next year, if you go to a more "balanced" offense you're moving backwards. Throw on first down and mix-in runs in second and third and short, other than that, keep the ball in your franchise player's hands. Any OC that suggests otherwise should be laughed out of the interview room.
  19. Yeah that's not how it works. The moment Josh's contract kicks in things get much more difficult.
  20. Absolute ***** coaching job by McDermott and Frazier
  21. Man I ***** fuming at that series. That should legit get people ***** fired.
  22. Every coach should be ***** canned. You can't run with ***** McKenzie there and you definitely can't ***** punt.
