  1. I hope the Bills are watching this game closely. KC is going to get every call at Arrowhead - they've gotta play disciplined football, stick with their coverages, and tackle well. Allen is gonna have to be a beast in this one.
  2. Wow the refs... holy crap.
  3. I think his point is that there was a sizable contingent on this board that slammed Daboll for never running the ball, and that there was some philosophical thing with him that prevented him from designing a running game. Sort of like how Greg Roman is run happy and is pass averse. There were rumors that McD was pissed at the lack of a running game and that he felt Daboll was one of the reasons why. Clearly the data from this season shows he's flexible enough to modify his offense to emphasize the strengths of his players. I'm not saying it warrants its own thread, but I don't think his point is as simple as the above.
  4. And 9h to Germany and most of Central Europe. The bottom line compensation difference will also be massive - taxes in Europe are no joke. I feel like Mexico and Canada are the smarter moves for international expansion. No need to worry about time zones at all and you could put them in the same divisions as US teams pretty easily. Similarly, I wonder if they could get some traction in South America where Brazil, Chile, and Argentina have solid soccer stadiums. Those flights are quite long, but the time change is minimal at least.
  5. I have no idea why Denver gave him so much guaranteed money. Living in Seahawks land and seeing their games on local TV, it was clear that while Wilson didn't have a great supporting cast in his last year there, he was also part of the problem. He lost his elusiveness as a passer and he couldn't adapt his game to hide his age. Adding to that, the talent around him wasn't able to pick up the slack, but that gave Russ an excuse for his performance. The media here gave him a pass, that is until it was clear that he and the team were headed for splitsville and then it became open season on him. I also think another problem for Wilson is that he was in a very stable organization for his entire career, with a very good head coach. Denver is a huge change of scenery both in terms of the city as well as the team - they haven't had stability since Kubiak and Manning left and have been nothing short of a dumpster fire - a 30-51 record from 2017-2021. Wilson has never had to deal with this kind of dysfunctional culture in his career and I suspect he's at a loss in terms of how to handle the locker room as a leader. So my takeaway here - Denver is screwed for multiple seasons with an albatross of a contract, particularly in the AFC West where the competition is fierce. Their only hope is that Hackett can somehow pull a rabbit of his hat and tweak the offense in such a way that it masks Wilson's flaws.
  6. This worked really well when McD started Peterman over Tyrod against the Chargers in 2017. Let's hope for a similar performance.
  7. Why wasn't that pass intentional grounding?
  8. Every single person, myself included, in my office pool advanced. The fish and the Ravens were easy picks this week. Matt Patricia running a Patriots offense has disaster written all over it. The Jets of course had no chance.
  9. Yeah this feels like the battle of incompetent offense rather than a defensive battle. Prescott is miserable and Brady is yelling at his OL for whiffing on pass protection. Credit hardly goes to the defenses.
  10. Remind me again why Prescott was considered anything more than a serviceable quarterback? The media was hyping him up but that's gotta be because he plays for the Cowboys. He's nowhere near the top tier in the league.
  11. So much for the elite holder.
  12. This one is gonna hurt Cincinnati - a week 1 divisional game that they had two chances to win on.
  13. Mike Tyson and Bob Kraft - two washed up has-beens.
  14. Watching Matt Patricia, a defensive coach that wasn't good enough for the Lions, call offensive plays for the Patriots* is just amazing. This team has truly fallen.
  15. Yeah that was pretty sad. I guess they suffer from LA's issue - too many better things to do there than watch football in the sweltering, late summer humidity in South Florida.
  16. That stadium in Miami is 2/3rds empty. I know they are usually pretty terrible attendance-wise, but this is bad even for them.
  17. Nothing could make me happier than this.
  18. Mahomes not having Hill is gonna hurt KC more than most people think. He's making Tua look like an NFL quarterback.
  19. 100% agree with this. Agents could get him deals on the side with sponsors that would more than make up for any loss in guaranteed money. Who is Pepsi or State Farm gonna call if they want Lamar in their commercials? His mom?
  20. Fully guaranteed is bonkers. Watson got that deal because he was dealing with an inept franchise and because of his legal problems. Jackson understands that, right?
  21. Don't feed the trolls, guys. This is an unfunny version of Crayonz that's looking for clicks. No Bills fan watches that game and is anything other than thrilled.
  22. The question is - how much of that is Allen improvising versus Dorsey calling a designed QB keeper? I get the sense that some of those runs are option plays where Allen can hand the ball off or keep it... or broken pass plays where the coverage is good and he just decides to keep the ball rather than throwing it away.
  23. The league is on notice - they're for real this year!
