Can you imagine the work that went into this:
BuckeyeBill replied to Talonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The worst part about that is that hours and hours of.... really nasty work... was stolen. I wouldn't want that job for anything. Oh, by the way... machines aren't used to extract the precious liquid. -
It has been nice seeing our franchise wide receiver stepping out of the shadows into the spotlight. Had the Bills won last night, no doubt that Eric Moulds deserved MVP honors. Good for him... But what about Lee Evans? Is he suffering a MAJOR sophomore slump? Sure looks like it to me! At the half way point of the season, Evans has only caught 18 passes for 234 yards and a touchdown. What the HECK!!! Those numbers suck! With the elite receivers nearing reaching the 800 yard mark, Evans is far from 300. Even no name receivers like Donte' Stallworth and Kevin Curtis have more than twice the catches and more than twice the yards. Is anybody else noticing this? What is the problem? I was thinking 70 catches for 1000 yards and 12 touchdowns for Evans at the beginning of the year. Now I will be shocked if he catches 50 passes for 700 yards. Also, last night I heard that the Patriots were triple teaming Moulds, why wasn't Evans lighting up the weak secondary of the Patriots (if that was the case)? Any thoughts? Is Evans not as good as he promised last year? Is he the second coming of Josh Reed? Help us, Moulds isn't getting any younger.

Will the Bills make the playoffs
BuckeyeBill replied to Clockwork's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the Bills more than anyone, but anybody who votes for the Bills to make the playoffs has to have their head examined. -
I do not want to join the conspiracy crew....but

I was annoyed that during the Bills most important drive of the game, they were playing the interview of the Patsies owner. That was the MOST IMPORTANT DRIVE OF THE GAME... KH fumbled it, and they immediately went back to the field, to see New England take the lead. The Bills get no respect. When they have a chance to win the game on a drive, they divert attention to the Patriots owner. Makes me sick watching the most important drive on only 1/2 of the TV screen. Oh, did I say that was the MOST IMPORTANT DRIVE?!?!?!!! -
To be honest, I didn't give the Bills a chance to win last night. I even expected to be going to bed at Halftime... seeing the Bills down 24-3, but then they tortured me (like usual) and made it a ballgame. Another heart-breaker, I saw the ending happening all throughout the game (although I thought it would be a Viniateri fieldgoal to seal it). Sitting in disbelief at Midnight (knowing full well that I had to wake up in 6 hours) I was looking for the silver lining. I thought for an hour... and I came up with this! There is NO REAL silver lining. Last night the Bills had a chance to take over the division (dominantly) and have a 50/50 chance or so of making the playoffs. But worse than the Bills losing (3-5 now) New England won and has momentum. Playoffs are over Then I thought harder and said that now JP can get some valuable playing time. Should that be considered a silver lining?? I think the Bills MUST play JP now and admit to the world that the playoffs are gone. It will sting like crazy, but we blew our chances last night. Do you think the Bills will play JP next week and admit a failure to their season, or start Holcomb again and pray for a miracle? Any thoughts...

Enough evidence to overturn it... YES. That may have well been the #2 play that lost us the game, second to the fumble by KH.

Anyone Here a little Worried
BuckeyeBill replied to Anon Y. Mous's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It does seem like the Raiders are due for a win and the Bills are due for a loss. I'm quite nervous. We never do well against the Raiders. Here's hoping our defense can shut down Lamont Jordan and Kerry Collins. -
You can't depend on history... to see the future. Sorry

How big are these next 2 games before bye week?
BuckeyeBill replied to Takeo_14's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, these two games are very important. But so were the Miami and Jet games. I think that if we had lost either one, we didn't have a chance for the playoffs. Now, I think we have a chance. Over the next two games... if we win one... we are 4-4 at the break, and I think we still have a shot. If we win two... we are 5-3 and a full game over New England. Playoffs are a VERY REAL possiblity unless we fall flat on our face. If we lose two... we are 3-5, and we are in major trouble. I think you can kiss the playoffs goodbye. I see that we have 3 hurdles this year that we must jump over to make the playoffs. The first we jumped over (beating Jet and Miami *we needed both*) the second is before us (Oakland and New England *we need one*) and the final hurdle will be at the end of the season (I'm thinking Cincinnati and Jets). Let's hope we can beat these Raiders and breathe more easily going into New England. -
Inability to stop the run: where's the problem?
BuckeyeBill replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills sorely miss PW and Ron Edwards... well, he WAS supposed to take his spot. As of right now the Bills have a HUGE hole on the defensive line, and good running backs (like we have played a lot this year) will burst through them. I hope the dominant pass defense (easily #1 in the league) will be able to make up for the sorry defensive line. It doesn't hurt that Spikes is hurt too. -
It's certainly possible... but I'd like to see the four teams that you are trusting the Patriots to lose to.
-
Good points... I often overlook the Home Field Advantage factor. I hope the Bills don't lose to Oakland because of that. Because then I think we will be 3 games behind. Not a good place to be if you are the Bills.

Moss is a better wide receiver than (I believe) any cornerback is. I don't like Nate's chances going up against Moss one on one. The Bills will scheme him, and I'm sure that TV will keep a sharp right eye on Moss at all times (slightly injured or not).

Congrats man!

I think the new snapper and knowing his head was on a chopping block inspired him. This will be the best year of his career (mark my words). Hopefully the Bills can take advantage. I'd also like to see how Lindell responds if we are down by 2 with 4 seconds on the clock of the 4th quarter, and he has a 41 yard makeable field goal attempt. I will sing his praises when he makes that kick. Until then, I still cheer when he boots them through the uprights, but am still a little cautious in singing Lindell's praises.

Looks like Tedy Bruschi returns
BuckeyeBill replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How come the Patriots always play at home, prime time, after a Bye week against the Bills. The NFL tries to dial up this loss for Buffalo each year. Or am I just being paranoid. -
I think in trying to decipher if the Bills will make the playoffs, you need to have should win and shouldn't win games. SHOULD WIN (10)- Houston, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Miami twice, Jets twice, Oakland, Denver, Cincinnati SHOULD NOT WIN (6) - Atlanta, New England twice, Kansas City, San Diego, Carolina We are already behind (losing to Tampa and New Orleans)... meaning that we have to pick up two games from the Should NOT win category. (I think New England once and KC). If we lose another should win game, we need to win a should NOT game. I think that makes sense... I always look at the seasons in this manner. You can mix in and out different teams, but I think everyone agrees that the Bills are at least 1 game behind at this point and have to beat a team that nobody expected if we want to make the playoffs.

All of you Moulds haters

I don't even come close to hating Moulds. I've always liked him. But he still has much to prove before his haters will eat crow. -

Does it surprise you? I always thought WM had top 5 ability. -
An injured Moss (no matter how serious or trival) is very good for Buffalo this Sunday.

I have a lot of friends here at work who are Cleveland Browns fans (a joy to rip on them). But one of them told me something telling about Kelly Holcomb. After I thanked him for giving the Bills Holcomb and the victory agains the Dolphins last week, my friend told me... "Yeah, Kelly is good for a few of those... but is he injured yet?" Apparently, KH has a knack of a person who is injury prone. A quarterback good enough to get you a few wins... YES, but sadly physically unable to finish a season. I sure hope my friend is wront, but don't be surprised if we are in a position to either be in or out of the playoffs (possibly against the Bengals or Jets), and the man under center to determine the destiny of the Bills is JP Losman.

Sam has always been quick off the ball. Reminiscent of Bruce Smith... once a game called offsides, but so worth it considering the pressure he gets!
