  1. I bet they would have given a 3rd round pick this year for Stevie!
  2. I thought it was for a fourth THIS year when I first reacted. I'm not as excited about a new 4th next year, but I do think he was scheduled to make too much. It just seems to me like he's starting to succumb to the injuries you see as guys get older. I would have guessed he'd be active ~10 games if he stayed a Bill this year. Good luck out there, Steve. Thanks for all the entertainment!
  3. Excellent if true! And that's not a jab at Stevie, who I love and wish the best for.
  4. 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns (75 yards and 0.75 TD per game)? Be the difference maker in 2 games The above in his rookie year should shut people up (though of course won't for everyone).
  5. I mostly agree. This only makes sense if the Vikings told the Browns someone was offering a 5th rounder to jump in front of them.
  6. Manziel - Minnesota Clowney - Houston Bortles - Oakland Mack - Atlanta Evans - Tampa Bay
  7. Well, I thought there was enough truth to be funny, and didn't take you too seriously, especially the bolded part. I'm on the fence about Byrd. I don't think we could make him stay, and there's a limit to how much you give any one player. That said, I wish we could have been able to get something for him somehow. The bottom line is we need playmakers to compete, and make watching much more enjoyable. I hope we find a couple gems in the craft like we did with Byrd.
  8. Thanks so much for taking the time to break it down. I haven't had time, and won't for awhile. I learned much more reading your breakdown than elsewhere.
  9. I think the following make the team:Fred CJ Dixon or Frank Summers Draft pick And I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them on the IR/able to return list to make roster space. (Call me cynical, but I think these things are gamed all the time.)
  10. My list is not at all a statement about how early or whether we should draft replacements, just how much we need more/better players at these positions.
  11. More than 5... sue me! ORT - I'll believe Hairston's return when I see it. My guess is he'll be released soon Tight End - Promise, hope, and a lumbering old Chandler... O-Guard / Interior O-line - Happy to have Williams, but not thrilled; and we have no depth RB - This is higher than LB because it's easier to find LB depth. We may well soon need a new RB starter. QB - We have to keep strengthening the most important position. LB - I'm okay w Lawson, Spikes, and Alonso, but who is behind them? This scares me. Punter - yes, I went there Safety Depth behind Williams and Searcy WR - I'm not convinced we have a good enough group until I see it on game day
  12. It's the team that actually drafts each player, regardless of whatever trades came before (or after).
  13. No ****! I have no idea why this turned into a PPP throwdown... Drugs?
  14. That seemed like a pretty lame "expert" to me. Someone put a tracker on him and let him go!
  15. Oh, lighten up! Everyone that reads this should post, so this looks like a giant "hot" thread, which would make it that much more believable.
  16. Yikes! RIP if true (awaiting confirmation)
  17. So my first thought was Fred Jackson. Then I turned to Kyle Williams, whose on-field performance is most important to the team (and he delivers IMO). I didn't think Fred would need my support winning this poll, and was apparently right. Quick, someone start a "Your Second Favorite Current Bills Player" poll. . . !
  18. Vote: Evans. While I really like the thought of the Bills have a "real" TE, it's just too high a pick for me, especially when there's a better weapon for the offense available.
  19. My bold prediction: at the end of the year there is reasonable consensus at TBD that the offense has an identity but not that it is very good
  20. Excellent! Thanks for posting the link!
  21. So we focus on the wrong things and the wrong people. That's kind of an obvious and ironic point on a football message board. And I don't think this is the time or place for the debate, in a RIP thread. Rest in peace! He was a great actor, and seemed like a good guy. What a tragedy to die so young. Already performing at such a high level, we all just had decades of solid performances taken away from us. I definitely identified with him, coming from a Rochester suburb, and being almost the same age as me.
  22. I'd be in favor of bringing in Joique for couple million a year. And forget the #3 RB talk. I'd tell him we're committed to winning and playing whoever is getting the job done. Our RBs are team players. If it tuns out he's playing a bigger role than his salary let him know we'll talk about extending him and giving him a raise. From the beginning Joique had power and some balance, more than most big guys. That aspect has grown and he's been running with urgency and some vision. I think he's an excellent backup or rotation guy coming into his prime.
