  1. He ran all the way across the field into the end zone. no Bill has done that this season. Sign the drunk guy!
  2. If we ever do put together a good line, then we don't need a great back, because a good line makes an average back look great. A great back will look great behind a poor line. I think Willis did look slow. He hasn't broken a long TD run this year, and on the 54-yard run called back, he was caught from behind. I was up in the nosebleeds and haven't seen a replay, but does anyone know if the Reed hold is what sprung McGahee or did he have the corner? Kelly, 4.2 yards per carry this year ranks 16th. Last year, he was 27th in that stat. That is average at best. Sorry, I just don't see him as great yet.
  3. Back to the topic...anyone know if this impacts potential compensation? I thought losing our starting LT could bring a supplementary third or fourth.
  4. He hasn't shown touch, accuracy or recognition. And give me those skills over speed and strength any day. And he eexhibited every skill in Tulane except the ability to win. Can we get off other people's game understanding? If any of us knew it that well, we'd be on the sidelines. I, like many on the board, areseason ticket holders - pretty similar to a stock holder - and, yes, we get to have our opinion count even if it may not be as informed as Ralph Wilson's. Some year: Montana was born. Later: He wins four Superbowls. Some year: Losman was born. Later: It only follows... That's just my way of saying it doesn't do any good comparing JP to anyone else. Let what he does be decided on its own merit.
  5. Yes, they've quit. But with an offense that has three TD's in four games, can you blame them? Quitting means that they came out hard, saw the situation was hopeless, and said it's not worth getting injured if we're not going to win anyway. Well, sorry to say, they're right.
  6. I'm not saying that this is the only reason that donahoe should be fired, but one of the reasons is that at a certain point, the boss has to take the blame, no matter what. It's like saying Frist and Delay shouldn't reflect poorly on Bush. And where do you get off saying that they haven't played up to potential? I think the potential was just a bill of goods that you and I and we all bought from our GM.
  7. Wow, sometimes, the pickings are easy. I'll start by telling you that I am not old enough to remember the pair of 2-14 seasons (I was born in 1984), but even I know that Polian wasn't the GM until 1986. After a dismal first season, like Donahoe, he was in the playoffs by his third season, and by his fifth, he was in the freakin Superbowl. Sorry if that was immature. You ask for patience. Well, I'm just wondering, how many non-playoff seasons would it take for you to lose patience? Many would think five is enough (not that I'm writing off this year - yet). And, by your own admission, still a year away. You said you'd respond to every attack, but you've only responded to two. So, here we go. The reason the team went 27-40 is because the GM made poor personnel and coaching decisions. I don't understand how drafting Henry in the second round and flipping him for a third is used by many as a highlight of Donaoe's time here. Yes, the bottom line counts. No, the future of that team is a running back that has put up just as good numbers as Willis, who cost a second round pick, as opposed to a first. Oh, and a second round pick that we gave to them. Nice move, Parcells, not as nice, Donahoe.
  8. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  9. Seven teams: North South Pittsburgh Steelers 3 Atlanta Falcons 2 Baltimore Ravens 3 New Orleans Saints 1 Cincinnati Bengals Carolina Panthers 1 Cleveland Browns 1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3 South North Indianapolis Colts 4 Green Bay Packers 4 Jacksonville Jaguars Minnesota Vikings 2 Houston Texans Detroit Lions Tennessee Titans 3 Chicago Bears 1 East East New England Patriots 3 Philadelphia Eagles 5 New York Jets 3 Dallas Cowboys 1 Buffalo Bills New York Giants 2 Miami Dolphins 2 Washington Redskins West West San Diego Chargers 1 Seattle Seahawks 2 Denver Broncos 3 St. Louis Rams 4 Kansas City Chiefs Arizona Cardinals Oakland Raiders 3 San Francisco 49ers 2 Sorry if it's not clear, but those are the teams and their playoff appearances in the last five years. Of the seven that missed, Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Washington, and Detroit all look like they have at least a passing shot at the playoffs. That could leave Buffalo in the company of the woeful Cardinals and the Texans, who have only existed for three of those five years. And don't claim anything else - the Bills have fell to the level of the Cards and the Bengals of the last decade. And even if only three teams won the Superbowl, 8 made it. And of the seven who haven't sniffed the playoffs, none have kept their GM through the whole stretch. At least they're trying to get better. (I know, technically the Bills switched after the first year.)
  10. The league has outlawed that after Green Bay did it.
  11. Good question. First, who are Don and mike? As for Eli, He has performed much better than JP, even if he hasn't been great yet. Second, if Eli was drafted tobe the next Peyton, I think there are legitimate concerns about his improvement. Look at where Peyton was his second season - 13-3. You think the Giants are going to be 13-3?
  12. Creating a O-line of Gandy, Anderson, Teague, and Villarial I consider to be a bad move. You can't give him a pass on that. Jeff Posey has done nothing. I think Bledsoe was a bad move, but lets not get into that. Really, his problem has been drafting. Some picks look good - McGee, but he is the only starter that was drafted after the second round (not counting Edwards, because he stinks). The starters he has added to the current roster in five drafts are: 1st round: 5 2nd: 2 3rd: 1 4th: 1 Nine starters in five drafts won't cut it. To highlight Donahoe's poor drafting, I think the best example is DT. He didn't use a high pick on one, but knowing full well that he was grooming a successor to Phat Pat for years, he couldn't produce one between Edwards (3rd), Bannan (5th), and Anderson (3rd). A good GM would have. And now, many on this board think DT is what we need most in the first round! The fact of the matter is anyone of us on this board could've done the job Donahoe has done - no playoffs in four seasons. And it's looking like a fifth in a row (despite this post, I am optimistic). And a sixth could be likely if TKO doesn't come back the same, Clements develops Spikes losing syndrome and wantsto go to a winner, and Moulds and the safties countinue to age. Now with J-E-T-S playing God knows who at quarterback and Miami still hard to believe in, can you still call thisthe best division? It might even be the worst division in the AFC.
  13. They're getting criticized for not running enough and for not taking advantage of the injuries to the Falcons secondary. Which one is it? Good point tying the three slips together, but why weren't the Falcons slipping, particularly Vick on that 27-yard-run?
  14. Not to defend the D too much, but they're good at riding momentum. After the TD made it 14-13, they had a 4-and-out and gave the O the ball at the 37. They responded with a 3-and-out, predictably ending on a sack. So, I count two drives. And I think that's really all you can ask of them.
  15. From my seat in the upper deck, I could hear the defense tell the offense, "Do you think you can score from here?" after they handed them the ball at the 35 yard line down down 17-13. When they couldn't, the D decided, if the offense isn't playing, they shouldn't either.
  16. We're just waiting to see some evidence of that. We're tired of hype. It is one thing to say he will be the best, another to say he is right now.
  17. Eight of ten are over 30? Is there any other position in the peague where that would be true?
  18. It seemed that every time JP threw the ball, he was throwing into coverage. Was he making poor decisions or was there just no one open? Anyone at the game see? Thanks
  19. I was wondering - are we seeded #1 or were there no seeds?
