Week 11 - Chiefs at Bills Game Week Thread
ndirish1978 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a pipe dream IMO. Our D is too porous against good teams and we will not have Coleman, Cooper and Kincaid are up in the air. Mahomes is just going to pick on Dorian Williams in the intermediate routes. We only win if Josh plays a clinical game and we stop with these frantic 3 and out drives. -
We're signing Jordan Phillips to shore up the line. He is the lowest graded DT vs the run in the league (201) 🤮 per Parrino.
-
Feels like we're wasting a year of prime Josh Allen with this trash defense. Not the way to do things. Identify a DT who you can fit under the cap and make them an offer they can't refuse. I'm still waiting on all my "we didn't mortgage the future" trophies.

I don't find it particularly funny. This team has glaring needs and they need to be filled with decent players. What are we doing if we're just trotting out a team that got the doors blown off them by a team they will likely have to face in the playoffs. You can't run light boxes against Baltimore and they have decent receivers now
-
He's fine, would be less help than a good DT.
-
Joseph-Day is the only move I am hoping to see today. We are too thin on the Dline now.
-
It does not account for the cap increase. We should have around 30M+ in cap space next year. They should 100% cut Von, he hasn't played up to his contract at all. I agree, I wouldn't cut Knox.
-
I love that we have clamped down on leaks but man it would be nice to know if we're at least working on someone at the moment. We are hurting for help on the DL badly and I don't see us making a run without at least 1 name added there.

TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?

Nice to go into a game knowing it's win win for us. Either loss helps us, even though a Texans loss helps us more. -
I'd like to address a couple of points you made here, cause I don't necessarily disagree with you but I think I have a different conclusion: he fakes a cramp, nobody would be saying anything here. - Agreed Receivers do tap themselves es out of a play usually after a go route they run - Yes, this happens I think the main thing you have to consider is that the QB is the leader of the team, he is not just another player and is held to a much higher standard. He is expected to model behavior for the rest of the guys, including mindset, toughness and discernment. I personally have never seen a QB take himself out of the game, especially not at a crucial moment in the 3rd quarter. That's not a winning mindset, especially as a leader of the team. His honest response that he took himself out was pretty poor discernment - he should have known how bad a look that was, the fact that he didn't shows a lot of ignorance and definitely a lack of discernment in how to handle himself in front of the media. Watch Kurt Cousins screaming in pain from hits last year and still limping to the huddle, this makes guys want to play for you. Zero modeling of toughness tapping out of a drive as a QB. I don't think you realize the poor effect this has on a locker room.

Thanks SDS, great tribute to a great board member. He will be missed. Rest in peace brother.

Has been placed on IR, out 4 weeks min
-
FTR Carter is now on IR. I dunno what DTs are out there for us, but we need one desperately. Carter was playing well and Jones and Oliver are really not.
-
Bernard is in and out every other week, he cannot stay healthy this year. If you think Spector playing as a starter is going to do anything other than cost us games, you're welcome to live in that world. Milano and Bernard are both injury-prone at a very important position. Dorian Williams is not a backup, he is the only starter we have. We need someone like JOK just to field a healthy LB unit. You cannot advance in the playoffs with question marks at the most important position on D. JOK is owed around a million this year, trade for him and sort out who you keep for next year. He is NOT getting paid big bucks, the Browns would eat his bonuses upon a trade.

THIS is a move we really need
-
Can we trade for a DT now please?
-
I don't see a trade happening that looks like we're "going all in" this season. I dunno why people are out here pretending this past draft wasn't just looking to the future with a plan of taking our medicine, trying to field a competitive team while resetting our cap situation. We got rid of a bunch of higher priced vets while looking to reload with cheaper, younger players. I don't think they expected the rest of the division to look so weak 1/3 of the way through the season and now they are looking to see if we can pick up a few lower cost vets to shore up the D and make a run in the playoffs. The offense is too streaky and the defense is too porous to think we're only a player or two away from winning the SB. I hope our Offense can get it together and learn how to play a consistent game, but I don't think we have the horses on D to do much: not enough team speed, not good enough on the line and always leave the middle of the field wide open. We have beaten pretty bad teams and lost to the good ones we've played. This week should tell us a lot about what kind of team we have cause the Seahawks are pretty good.

I stopped watching and check in so intermittently I didn't even know the show had moved. Why make that stupid decision? The show died when Kay and Nate left, I used to be able to watch because it was at least clear they all got long and I could chuckle at it. The clips I see on X are all boring as hell now and their football "takes" are stale and I don't really care about them.
-
I want a big ol' 1 tech. I miss the old Daquan. Our run D will cost us big games as porous as it has been. If we shore up the run D we can stay in a 2 high shell, which helps the passing game. Budda Baker is great, but when we play BAL in the playoffs he's not solving our Henry problem.

If Myles Garrett is available.. How much are you willing to offer?
ndirish1978 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whoever trades for him is going to get him for a couple games and then suddenly he's going to go on IR to get his feet operated on. Then you're going to have the whole "it takes a while to get back in game shape" discussion when he's average next year. This has the potential to be Von Miller 2.0 in terms of dumping money on a player who isn't impactful for long stretches, only he's going to cost a LOT to get. -
The Bills Defense is Last in Rushing Yards / Attempt

We need a better 1T and a FS. I'm bummed that Bishop got injured and missed the whole offseason, I was hoping he could get up to speed and start as a rookie, doesn't look like he can. -
No. He's a strong safety with diminished skills. Rapp is our SS, we need to replace our FS.

Raiders are open to trading Davante Adams

You're talking about a man who is lacks so much self-awareness he goes out in public with that bowl cut. Evidently the resistance is coming straight from him.
