Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Rounds 2 & 3 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
ndirish1978 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
in about 5 picks we are in range where we could trade up if we wanted to with a couple 4ths -
Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State

Here's the thing now that I've had a second to rage. With the exception of Legette, who isn't there yet, but I thought he could get there, we're picking from players who are very good at a few things but not complete players. This is our young, large possesion receiver who is a red zone threat. He has very good hands and obviously is good at contested catches. I would expect we pick D at 60 and take a speed guy in the 3rd or 4th. Does that make this an amazing WR room? No. But it at least gives us some pieces we didn't have before. -

McConkey or AD would have made me feel like we at least got someone who MIGHT be better than Legette. I do not feel this now. I feel significant disappointment. -

Charles Davis keeps saying we need a corner. Has he ever looked at our roster? -

Trying to talk the Bills pick and Eisen immediately goes "and what about the Patriots drafting next!" and just kills the discussion smh -
NFL gives players the option to wear guardian shells during games.

Just integrate padding into the helmets -
I don't have that confidence. We gave Diggs a big extension and then cut him loose even though we had him in the building and knew his history and still didn't realize he was nuts.
-
Mitchell has all the tools to be a #1 and enough questions about his work ethic/maturity that he scared WR needy teams out of drafting him in the 1st round. I'd be happy if he's the pick, but I would feel zero peace that he's going to become a consistent player.

Only way I'd trade 33 is if we fleece someone to move WAY up from 60 as well. Too many solid projected starters at positions of need to drop more than 3-4 down.

Bills interested in Deebo Samuel per Mike Giardi
ndirish1978 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Go on spotrac right now and show me how. You can't. -
That is NOWHERE near fair value for them. Have you ever looked at a trade value chart? We would be giving 268 and receiving 315 which is equivalent to them just flushing a mid 3rd rd pick down the toilet I'm scared of AD Mitchell, he has huge upside but he takes plays off and could wind up being a huge flop and a headache. I'd rather take McConkey, who has a lower ceiling and a higher floor.

Not that much. -
Bills interested in Deebo Samuel per Mike Giardi

This is incorrect. He said he it would be ridiculous and impossible for us to be WILLING to take that cap hit. He was aware of how much it would count against our cap and that we could TECHNICALLY do it -

Samuel just signed a rather large extension last year. We don't have the cap space to absorb his contract today, which is when the trade would have to be processed, nor do we have time to have him pass a physical unless he's already on a plan. This should be able to be debunked rather quickly by one of you people who track the Bills' plane I would think. -
WGR callers way worse than any poster here…
ndirish1978 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seriously though, at least people on this board have to take the time to register an account and even if they don't do any research on their own, should absorb a little knowledge from the posters on here who take the time to be informative (you are all appreciated). The radio is the wild west. I don't know what it would take for me to be motivated to call a radio station to announce my opinion to the world but I suspect you're not dealing with people who interact a lot with others so you wind up with just insanity confirmed by nonsensical bias. -

Settle down Anjin -
Here's the thing about that board, it's made to be a general draft guide, it's not specific for this team. There are 2nd and 3rd rd rated receivers who may not be a fit for what we need. I would rather have McConkey + a 3rd rd value on this board paired with Bullard or Taylor-Emerson at 60 over DeJean + a 3rd rd graded player like Polk or Troy Franklin + someone else. Similary - Johnny Newton is great value, but he is a penetrated similar to Kris Jenkins, who should be there are 60. So it's really pick your poison.
-
I'm looking at Daniel Jeremiah's top 150 players. These guys are all on the board and ranked higher than 33 24 - Cooper DeJean 25 - Johnny Newton 27 - AD Mitchell 30 - Ladd McConkey If we take WR we could come back and take Bullard or Bishop at S if we want safety at 60 Ohorhoro or Maason Smith at DR if we want DT at 60 If we take a DeJean we're looking at these WRs around 60 Roman Wilson Ja'Lynn Polk Troy Franklin Tez Walker

The GM has publicly stated he disagrees with you about needed a #1. We need an X, not a 1. I want Baker for that job.
-
Taking plays off isn't the unnamed scouts though, it's right there on tape.

Do You Like What Beane Did in the First Round?

I wanted Legette, but they didn't. I'm bummed they didn't want the guy I thought could help us a lot. I hope they are right. -

I just watched a some interviews with a bunch of receivers. Malik Washington is impressive as hell and I like him as a pick in the 3rd/4th -

I want McConkey and Javon Baker paired together. I wouldn't mind Malik Washington, whose comp is Steve Smith
