This. Keeping TT actually hurts our chances at keeping Watkins. One could argue that throwing a good deep ball and ball velocity are not mutually exclusive. The ability to place a ball deep does not rely solely on the speed of the football. Sure, you have to have a certain threshold velocity (50 mph is not awful but was the worst of all QBs in the 2011 draft class) to actually get a throw down the field, but a slower velocity may result in the ball taking an extra tenth of a second to get there and giving CBs a little longer to make a play. My bigger grip with TT's velocity is that he will try to gun the ball to wide open people in the flat at times when it's not necessary. Though it's not a benchmark for success it should be noted that most HOF caliber QBs threw in the 58+ range.

Rob Quinn on Trubisky replacing Tyrod

I don't get the slamming of the article. You want the guy to post one thing a year with his opinion on what should or could happen and never present any other options? He's one of the few guys out there not posting reactionary garbage like TBN, I actually recommend following billswire on twitter. -
Whaley wants Cardale to be 2017 starter
ndirish1978 replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TT is not a SB quality QB. We can adjust the system to his strengths and I actually think Dennison's offense would do that (predicated on bootlegs and getting the QB out on the perimeter), but he doesn't have that clutch instinct in the pros to close out close games. He had it in college but at this point in his career you have to admit he has served up some garbage in the waning moments of games. My view on QBs is "do I want the ball in this guy's hands when we're down by 4 with 2 minutes to go?" I can't say I feel that way about TT. Heck, even EJ was able to pull out a couple of come from behind wins. You keep TT if the goal is merely to MAKE the playoffs. Is that good enough for anyone? Yeah I understand, we haven't even been to the playoffs in 17 years, but I'd rather take a shot at actually being able to win a playoff game rather than have our goal be to eke into the wildcard and get blown out in the playoffs. Why even bother to play if your goal is to work your way to the middle? -

After the weak comments he made whining about not being wanted here and not wishing us luck in the future it's fair to say I can't stand this pompous blowhard -
Bills Hire Gill Byrd as Secondary Coach
ndirish1978 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I enjoy post after post dancing on the corpse of Jarius' career. Is Gil actually a competent coach? I don't know a thing about him beyond a cursory google search. -
Per Bills Fanatics - Bills pushing to sign Zach Brown

I don't get points for mimicking his post?! Honestly though, if you're going to flippantly dismiss the entire proposition of re-signing one of the fastest LBs in the league in a defense that needs a WLB with some speed you deserve the scorn. If I accept the ridiculousness of that post we can all just close down the board because nothing is relevant without Tom Brady on our team. -
Tyrod hasnt heard from the Bills at all
ndirish1978 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel the opposite. I can think of 3-4 teams who would take him off our hands. Also, I'm surprised people are in favor of just CUTTING him for cap savings. This is a team that VERY RECENTLY started Thad Lewis and Jeff Tuel at QB and those two were only holding down the fort for future "remember him" trivia answer EJ Manuel. Do we forget so quickly what it is like going into a game and KNOWING we had zero chance to put a competent offense on the field? TT may have zero clutch moments in his career but he can at least move the ball and score enough that our defense can be charged to win games for us. -

Tyrod hasnt heard from the Bills at all
ndirish1978 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Additionally, the Bills could ostensibly choose to cut ANY player on their roster as of today. They could also choose to go out for wings today at lunch. Just media pushing the urgency of a narrative few actually believe. -
If you're losing and getting down, yeah you may be tired of the media. The question asked was why he seemed different towards the end of the year and he answered honestly. For all that they "cover" sports, half of the guys on the Bills' beat are more concerned with pithy tweeting than analysis of the game. If ever there were a group that just looks at stat lines and makes up a narrative, it's TBN. If a gameplan is based on dinks/dunks and running and you get questions about why you didn't air it out more, what exactly are you supposed to say "I didn't throw many deep balls because my coordinator doesn't trust the line to hold up long enough for my no-name receivers to be open down the field?" I am not a huge proponent of keeping TT, but there is nothing here to read into.

I have seen this "Doug Whaley loves porn" angle going around the board for months now. Just curious, what was the genesis for this line of joking? -

I know it's early in the year but you may have successfully written the worst post of 2017, kudos. How exactly does one read that much into a red hat? I guess he's just lucky you didn't see the attention-mongering checkered shirt/hat combo he once wore, who knows what kind of scorn THAT would have engendered. -
is rex the biggest douche bag coach ever?
ndirish1978 replied to nuklz2594's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's not a douche move, that's legendary -
Meh. They can be interested all they want, doesn't mean he's coming here
-
I do enjoy the multiple statements that he's not bitter about the firing yet goes on to say "F those guys" and "I don't wish them luck." What a douche. If I'm a current player I'm glad he's gone and I agree it sounds like he knew he never had this locker room. Why else make this statement against the guys who were just putting their bodies on the line to play for him?
