Gilmore is now beloved in NE (Yahoo Article)
ndirish1978 replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your Gilmore-lovefest has now reached new heights of delusion. By the way, you trying to hem me in to a specific game on a general comment is pretty pathetic. I'm gonna let you get back to cross-stitching that pillow for your buddy Steph while I read things that actually interest me, not your weird obsessions. -
Todd Haley Headed to the Browns as the New OC

I don't know if his frail hips are a match for those icy Cleveland sidewalks. -
Thanks for the board Scott. Really appreciate all the time and effort you put into it

I appreciate that our first thread ever involves simultaneously complaining about signing Flutie and lamenting the fact that we won't have a chance to draft Ryan Leaf, lol.

Ignorant. I have disliked 3 players who left this team: Gilmore, Dareus and Sammy and the root cause of that has nothing to do with them leaving for bigger money. They are solid players with worlds of potential that they are not living up to but they all had awful attitudes and I'm glad they're gone. You mean I'm not making a point that lines up with what you want to argue. It's ok, you can beat beating your one drum. All you had to do was watch Gilmore pretty much any game in the past 2 years to see him avoiding contact on the boundary and waiting for someone else to make a tackle. If you can't see that, I suspect your rose-colored glasses need to be adjusted. Feel free to re-watch this gem: -
Is Tom Brady better than Jordan?
ndirish1978 replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jordan is my favorite basketball player of all-time. I hate Tom Brady. There is probably nothing he could do that would ever have me saying he was a better player/athlete than Jordan. -

You're clearly just sitting next to your Gilmore shrine lamenting the loss of your patron. I never said the guy was an awful CB. Gilmore is inconsistent and a poor tackler and is not worth what you or he believes he is worth. He is not the greatest thing since sliced bread as you would have us all believe. -

You're right of course. It's not like Stephon got burned for 29 yards literally 4 plays before he actually made a play on the ball. Oh wait, yes he did. -
I dunno, I feel like having the highest paid guy in the building showing up late to stuff and basically not fully committing to the process sets a poor example. Especially on a team that is actively working to get younger. I don't want young guys coming in an emulating him.
-
Agreed. The team really had no culture before and is in the nascent stages of developing a team identity. You can't have that on the roster in the early stages.
-
It's a problem when the highest paid player on the team is a child and not a leader. He's one "childish" mistake away from losing a full year to suspension. That alone would make me too nervous to keep him on the team.

Yeah sure in a perfect work I'd like the QB with ALL the skills, but those are ridiculously rare. I want a QB who can get the ball to the skills players with consistent accuracy, that is the point of the position. I'd rather have a QB who is capable of moving around in the pocket and distributing the ball reliably than a guy with 4.4 speed that sails his passes or dumps them at the feet of a wide open receiver. If forced to choose between mobility and passing accuracy, you choose passing accuracy all day.

[POLL] Are you going to watch the Super Bowl?
ndirish1978 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Surprised at the high number of people who won't watch. It's the last football game you'll get to see for MONTHS. -
I dunno Kirby. Three separate coaching staffs tried to embrace this guy and he had a garbage attitude for all three of them. The problem with his talent is that it's attached to a moron who shows up late to everything and moans when things don't go his way.

Nice to see you bring some facts into this rather than, you know, your opinion. -
We have the same top 5, though I'd probably switch Allen and Mayfield. I am in the "trade everything to move up and get Darnold or Rosen camp, so we're probably at odds there. Can you recall the last time picking the fifth best QB in the class worked out? How many drafts provide us with more than 2 starting quality QBs?
-
Except it's not a bad comparison. You're talking about 2 guys with elite physical skills who can't be consistently good at passing the ball. I understand you'd get tired of it if you're a fan, but this guy is far from a finished product as a passer. I'd rather have someone with a more limited physical skill set who completes >65% of his passes consistently. The guy's completion percentages in college are 54, 56, 60 and don't let that 60 fool you, he completed more passes for fewer yards his last year, which means we're looking at more short-range passes.

Thoughts on Calvin Ridley in the 1st?
ndirish1978 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't want to draft a single skills position player before drafting a QB. To do so would be a complete waste. We've had decent WRs here and above average RBs - we haven't had a competent passer to distribute the ball to them since Kelly. We could have Hopkins and Brown at WR and they'd average 550 yds/ 6 TDs per year with the current stable of QBs. -
Is this Jags loss McDermott's fault?

OP is delusional. Sad! This guy's not a refugee. He's the one who told everyone last offseason that we were getting rid of Shady per his "sources." -
Does this game look like Bill Bilichick's last?
ndirish1978 replied to Ray Finkel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he were, you'd think he'd have a succession plan and his 2 coordinators wouldn't be leaving the team to be HCs elsewhere.
