  1. I haven't seen or read too much concern over the Buffalo Bills interior OL. I'm not sure if it's being overlooked amongst fans or what, but I view it as a huge need for the Bills. They are in desperate need for a young quality C or G prospect. Seems like this may be a great year to pluck one in the 2nd to 4th round range. I personally am very interested to see where, Evan Boehm, center, Missouri is drafted. He is an intriguing prospect, who could be a starter at center. Eric Wood's arrow is flat if not pointed down at this point in his career. John Miller was a disaster last year. Incognito, while solid isn't exactly young either. We really need some competition on this roster at G/C. Anybody else like any other prospects that might fit what the Bills are looking for in OL?
  2. Evan Boehm, Center, Missouri That's the player I thought of in the draft who can dominate people. Probably a late 2nd to late 3rd round pick. This guy could replce Wood in a year or 2 and probably upgrade our RG spot now.
  3. Yes they should. The Bills would be absolute fools to not look into every option at the QB position. We still don't have a top flight qb on our roster imo. And until we do the Bills should exhaust every option available to them to find that guy. Until they do the playoffs will remain only a wish and not a reality Yes they should. 4. I think the "enamored by Cardale Jones" is a total smoke screen. The fact that it's a LaCanfora story almost seals the deal for me on that one. If it was true, it wouldn't be out there in the media. Whaley, much like Nix, understands that this is the lying season. The time for misinformation is now. I believe the true apple of Whaley and Greg Roman's eye is Paxton Lynch. I'm really starting to become a believer that this kid can be a legit quality NFL QB. Not sure Rex would endorse the idea of a 1st round QB (part of the reason I don't like Rex as HC, but that's another story), let alone one that you might have to trade up for, but I would be on board selecting him if Lynch gets out of the top 10. I do not think he will be available at 19, with teams like DAL at #4, SF at #7, PHI at #8, CHI at #11 and LA at #15, all possible landing spots for a guy like Lynch. If he were to make it past PHI with the 8th pick though, I would get on the phone with the NYG at 10 and see if my 1st and 2nd gets it done. Like I said before, I don't think Rex would be on board with a move like this, and ultimately I don't see it happening, but I'd like to see it. We all know you're nothing in this league without a difference maker at the QB position, and I think Paxton Lynch has all the tools to become that QB. I also truly believe that the Bills are not believers that Tyrod is a franchise, "this guy can take us to the promised land" type of QB. I don't always agree with Bills Polian's opinions, but when that piece came out about what he told the Pegula's (find a QB, don't overpay a stopgap like Tyrod) I agreed with his take. I hope maybe Whaley could convince Rex to get on board because drafting a young QB high might buy him more job security, perhaps that's how you go about getting coaches to buy into the idea. Not that that's a good reason, but I think the player he will become is the reason the Bills should do it One final nugget: I think this is the year Jerry Jones plucks a QB in the 1st round, they've been doing their homework on all of the QB's. In the end I think Paxton Lynch will be their guy over Jared Goff with the #4 pick. But let's say that doesn't happen and he's still on the board when the Giants are on the clock at #10................. How would this board feel if the Bills traded away their 1st and 2nd round picks for the right to move up and take Paxton Lynch? I have the feeling it won't be very popular.
  5. I think the Bills have all the makings to be a perfectly average team. Average coach, average qb. All the makings of a 7 to 8 win team. The only player in the draft with the ability to change this teams fortune was Carson Wentz and since we have no shot at him the wait will continue. Trade the Titans our 1st and 3rd round pick this year. 1st round pick in 2017, Stephon Gilmore, and Robert Woods for the 1st pick. Draft Wentz. Get a future star QB , take your lumps in 2016 and finally feel what it's like to have a better QB than your opponent on most Sundays moving on.
  6. I would still draft Wentz. Having 2 high quality QB's would be a wonderdul problem to have. I do believe Wentz is going to be a top tier QB in the NFL given a few years. I've loved him as a prospect since the first time I heard/saw him play about 2 years ago. He has what I want in a QB: 1 - Steps up into the pocket in the face of pressure 2 - Great pocket mobility 3 - Cannon for an arm 4 - Tall, Thick frame 5 - Big hands 6 - Smart, Leadership qualities
  7. I would draft Carson Wentz. Then offer Mario ta to Chip Kelly for a kings ransom
  8. I believe Revis is an example of that from last year. He had a 2nd year on his deal with the Pats at an astronomical number. The Pats voided the deal. This year they got a 3rd round compensatory pick for losing him. Difference is Percy prob. won't sign with another team in time for it to matter.
  9. I will revisit this post after another 8-8 2016 campaign with a disaster of a head coach, and still no high draft pick to find a QB in the '17 draft and see if you feel the same way my friend. I am just as big a Bills fan as the rest, evidenced by my 15 years as a season ticket holder despite the fact that I live 7 hours drive from the stadium. That does not mean, however, that I must always maintain a postive viewpoint of the Bills despite what the results tell me every single year. I don't see a change coming in '16, like you may, that much is clear. I also find it comical that you point out that the Bills are 90k over the salary cap with many places to save money as if this is a positive. The reality of the situation is that the Bills rank #32, dead last, in salary cap room in the NFL. So let's not even try to spin their salary cap situation as not a problem when it's the worst situation in the league. Every team has big money players they can cut to save a lot of cap room like the Bills, either way you slice it....they are last in the league in space.
  10. And good for him really. Like I said perfect timing for Glenn. He will very likely be the highest paid OT in the history of the league if he hits the open market given the flood of money in the market. Honestly, short term it hurts the Bills. Long term though it helps them. If the Bills have shown us anything the past 15 years it's that paying top money to DT'S, OT'S, RB'S, DE'S and CB'S gets you absolutely no where if you don't have the QB. I still don't believe the Bills have a QB. I'd rather have a shot at drafting high every year to find that guy rather than living in the 7-9 win no man's land we've been in for a decade plus.
  11. No he can not. He will be long gone by draft day due to the timing of roster bonuses which the Bills have no plans on paying
  12. Is Cordy Glenn worth the $13 plus million he'd be owed under the franchise tag? Probably not. Is there any realistic chance of the Bills resigning Glenn prior to the start of FA? Absolutely not unless he and his agent are total dummies. The salary cap for '16 is enormous there are teams that have $70 million in cap space......that's right $70 million (jags and raiders). There are also tons of teams with $30, $40, $50, $60 million in space. FA's are going to be offered a fortune this offseason, so much so that I think it's going to shock a lot of fans. I honestly believe Cordy Glenn and his agent can expect to see a 5 year $70 million on the open market. Remember teams have money to blow....the timing couldn't be better for Cordy. This is why you don't trade for an over priced running back and then tear up his deal and give him even more money folks. Silly moves like those have consequences. Unless Glenn is franchised, which is a possibility, he will be one of the consequences of the asinine deal we gave Lehman McCoy.
  13. If the Bills acquire a QB in this years draft or next years draft that they deem can be their guy, my guess would be that Tyrod won't see a second contract. I think that Bill Polian piece about the Bills gleemed some insight on how the Bills view Taylor......and I think he's a bridge QB.
  14. I would think that would be a strong consideration if next year plays out similarly to this year. My biggest concern with Roman is his philosophy seems to be aligned with Rex in that he want to run the ball a lot. Philosophically I believe that is not the way you succeed in the NFL.
  15. Anybody know what they charged for the yellow sections last year......that's where I sit and I feel like they went way up. I belive it used to be $720....anyone know?
  16. Yes it does sadden me that we missed out on a coach that I believe will be a very good one because we hired one that I believe isn't a very good one. As a fan of the team, I get down when I believe they miss a chance to get better. I thought Hue was a chance to get better, I do not think Rex is the answer. Plain and simple. Hope that clears it up for you..........man.
  17. News starting to swirl that the 49ers top guy is Hue Jackson. Doesn't surprise me, also wouldn't surprise me if he's the top target for a few of the other teams in the search. The fact that nobody has been hired at this point is a clear indication to me that none of the guys currently available are really that impressive. All the Gase and Marrone talk seems much more media and agent driven than actually team interest driven. I will be sad to see Hue go, not only because I think he's going to be a dynamite HC, but also because when the Bills are searching for a new HC this time next year he won't be available to be had. That opportunity came knocking last year, when Hue apparently was the Bills 2nd choice behind Rex Ryan. I think in a few years Bills fans will be able to add Hue to the "what if" list of the last 16 years.......very similar to the what if the Bills traded up to draft Russell Wilson instead of T.J. Graham. I guess at this point I can at least root for him not to end up w/ the Dolphins.
  18. Id take him in the 1st round. If you think a guy has a chance to be a good QB you can't wait. This guy is way ahead of EJ Manuel as a prospect so 1st is where I see him going.
  19. I will take Carson Wentz 10 times out of 10 over any other QB prospect in this year's draft. He is the apple of my eye for '16 draft.
  20. Hey Russ Brandon. Some fans, like me, don't think you're very good at your job. Deal with it.
  21. Comparing the Bills model to Pittsburghs model doesn't work when Russ Brandon has a seat atop the Bills brass. The Rooney family does not rely on a proven failure when it comes to making important decisions like hiring general managers and head coaches. The Rooney family also understands that if you can't pass the football you can not succeed. The Bills top brass has been convinced they can win with a run and stop the run philosophy. Their philosophy is very flawed. Before the Bills can even think about mimicking the Steelers franchise they have to understand what it takes to sustain success in the NFL. If that comes first.....Continuity will follow. With the philosophy the Bills currently have continuity has no chance because 6, 7 and 8 win seasons don't get 3rd 4th and 5th chances.
  22. Out of curiosity, care to point out one positive thing that has happened to the Bills on the field since Russ Brandons career began with the Bills? And please don't give me the old company line that he's a great marketer. He's selling tickets and merchandise to the most popular and profitable sports league in the world. It is not difficult to sell tickets and merchandise in that type of business environment......and even if you thought it was, the Bills led the league in blackouts due to non sellouts, so apparently he's not even great at 'moving inventory" as Russ would say. I love how this guy gets a pass after each and every failed Bills season. Let me remind you this is the man that was acting GM when we drafted Aaron Maybin. This is the man that hired Marv Levy to come in as GM. The man that led the search to bring in Buddy Nix which led us to the drafting of EJ Manuel. The man who pushed to sign TO to help sell tickets. The man that led the charge in leaving no stone unturned and coming back with Doug Marrone as HC. The man who oversaw the contract negotiations with Marrone that allowed him to have an opt out clause after 2 years with no offsets, coating Pegula $4 million. The man that led the charge in the hiring of Rex Ryan and warned Pegula not to let Rex out of the building. And also the man that oversaw the negotiations that gave Rex a 5 year $27.5 million deal, forcing Rex as the leader of this franchise for at least 1 more year despite his obvious inadequacies as a HC in today's NFL. So once again I ask all of the Russ Brandon apologists to give me one example of a Bills success on the field under his leadership? The guys a total incompetent and he proves it year after year......and 2016 will be no different. The sooner the Pegula's realize Russ should not be leaned on for any type of advice the better off this franchise will be.
  23. I know the fear of canning a coach after 1 season may have you guys a bit nervous, but the bigger mistake would be keeping Rex around any longer. He's done. His results as a HC the last 5 years have continually proved it. In a league where the line between wins and losses is so fine, you can't be handicapped by your own HC, as has been the case with the 2015 Bills. You know it was a mistske, and we the fans realize it was a mistake. Don't fool yourself into thinking next year will be different. Don't fool yourself that the results of the next 2 games are an indicator that this team is getting better. Much like EJ Manuel's performance vs. the Jaguars, when the Bills season was on the line they continually folded, please don't be fooled by any garbage time success. Please be courageous in admitting your mistake, and do what you wish you had done the first time around: Hire Hue Jackson
  24. The hiring of Rex Ryan was the biggest blow. On the field, our inability to ever string wins together. Our longest win streak of 2 happened once. The loss to the Chiefs essentially ended our season. Had the chance to go up 1 game on them with the head to head tiebreaker and after our good start in the game I began to dream. Then of course the realization of how bad we were kicked in during the second half, 1 win since.
  25. And with all those guys we are 6-8, and headed no where so who really cares. Maybe it would've been better not to have Tyrod and bottom out a year and draft a good QB prospect. That's the funny hing about this playoff drought, we've been just good enough to miss out on a lot of top tier QB's. 1 less win in 2011 and we have Cam. Oh well. I'm thinking long term........we need a QB.
