Drew is a role model. And the heat is cooling-off after Manning's performance against the Pats. It will cool-off even more after the Steelers beat the Pats this weekend.
-
I mentioned this before in a thread about Gates, but an NFL coach said that the reason there are no good TE's in the NFL is because they're all playing power forward for the NBA. I liked that Euhus has a basketball background, but his knee injury means he'll likely be useles for most of this season. Same for Campbell, who is older and less athletic.

A "stud" TE would be nice, but just an average one would be enough. The offense suffered immensely once Campbell AND Euhus went down, and neither could be considered a "stud."

Mora ran up the score on Martz for April
MadBuffaloDisease replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Martz had his only chance in the Pats SB, but blew it. Since then his defense had gone to pot and he doesn't give a crap about ST's, so his team will never return to the SB. However he's a great offensive mind. And the Rams' situation on offense precludes them from having a top defense again, just like what will happen with the Colts (not that they ever had a top defense). -
Hate the Pats or Not...but I have to say....
MadBuffaloDisease replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That play should never have stood. The Colts should have challenged because Rhodes never had possession of the ball, didn't "make a football move" with it, and Bruschi didn't have full control of it when he hit the ground and the point of the ball hit the ground as well. -
Yes, the Colts receivers dropped 7 balls, but
MadBuffaloDisease replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again I look at the mere 6 points the Pats scored against the Colts' bad defense at home in the first half of that game. Suffice it to say that the Steelers' have a MUCH better defense, and crowd noise will make it harder for the Pats. On offense they need to keep it simple fr Roethlisberger, meaning run and play action. -

No the Bills weren't cheated, but they also weren't given wins like the Pats were. That is the TRUE embarrassment my friend. And as a result, no respect. Sorry. -

Face facts, your team cheats and as a result, NO ONE respects them as champions. They're a good team who deserves accolades for their regular season success, but if not for mind-numbingly bad calls like "the tuck" and ignoring 15 holding calls last year against the Colts, your team wouldn't have SEEN the SB, much less won it. It just shows the lack of character most Pats fans have, brought about no doubt from the inferiority of being a 2nd rate market next to NYC. -
Modrak to the 'Phins?
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry but as was mentioned in another post, if Lamar Gordon could net a 3rd rounder last year, and there is a "pretty good market for him," that means a 2nd rounder at least. The Faulk (and Bettis) deals were years ago, and the Bengals were desperate to unload Dillon and the Pats were the only team willing to give up a 2nd rounder so they jumped on it. -
How nasty could we be with
MadBuffaloDisease replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills can address the O-line AND get Abraham, fine. However the Bills had a decent defense that, although they couldn't close the deal in some games, is still young at some positions and still improving. The O-line needs to be addressed, and TE probably will have to be as well after Euhus and Campbell went down late in the season with ACL injuries, and thus likely won't help out much early this season, if at all. The Bills also need a new kicker before a guy like Abraham. -
Who the fug CARES what the Pats and Rams (or Steelers, who also traded a 2nd rounder for Bettis) gave up? All that matters is what the potential teams out there are willing to give up for him. More suitors means a higher price. Basic laws of economics, thrown in with some marketing on the Bills' part and ignorance on the part of some of the teams.

I call 'em like I see 'em. The Patriots cheat and/or get away with stuff. Sometimes it determines the outcome (Raiders game in 2001, Colts game last year), and rarely it doesn't (game yesterday). However the Steelers seem to get their fair share, and I don't recall any blatantly bad calls for the Pats back in 2001, so this MIGHT possibly be an evenly officiated game. But if it isn't, you'll hear about it, and deep down you'll know, even though you don't have the character to admit it. -
The Colts will probably franchise Edge. The cap will increase $5M and I believe the contracts that Manning and Harrison signed lowers their cap hits for next year. Now they MAY try to trade him, but that remains to be seen.

That's been known for awhile.

Blue and yellow lines distracting

Maybe THAT was the Colts' problem? -

Bet the farm then. Don't come crying back here when you lose it. -
So was Bledsoe REALLY the problem?
MadBuffaloDisease replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This will be his toughest test of the year. He's not only got Cowher, but LeBeau as well. And his team will be depleted and on the road. -

That last part is rich. How many hours has Brady been in church, for all the times the Pats have "squeaked by" teams? Oh and likewise, I'm sure the Steelers have been expecting to meet the Pats again and haven't stood still in their preparation for them. Hell they might have even devoted a part of the bye week for it as well. And again, scoring a paltry 6 points at home in the first half against a weak, undersized, and wimpy Colts defense isn't exactly the stuff of legends. But I guess we'll see won't we? -

What they have is great coaching and schemes which confuse people. Them overcoming the loss of Seymour, the best player on the Patriots team, only served to further convince me of that. What I expect to see is the Steelers pound, pound, pound and take deep shots, throwing to 6'6" Burress a lot. And unlike the Colts' WR's, the Steelers' WR's know how to play in cold and aren't wusses. -

? Even IF the Bills could get a 1st for Travis, and I seriously doubt it, RB wouldn't even make the top-5 of needs. -

The Colt receivers should be strung up
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills as a team played like crap against the Patriots. The defenses gave up 3-75+ yard scoring drives before halftime. And how many dropped passes did Drew have in that game? Where was the running game? -

He didn't when Roethlisberger was even MORE green, at the mipoint of the season, and with the Pats healthier than they are now and on a roll. I see the Steelers forcing Brady into several errors and their offense capitalizing by running, running, and running some more. There is no Bledsoe to save them this time around. -

So what was the Colts' excuse? Are you saying that if Bledsoe had played like Manning did today, they would have beaten the Pats? Please tell me that's NOT what you're saying.
