  1. A lot will depend on what the Bucs do with their 1st round pick. Do they go QB, or do they go RB? Hopefully it's QB.
  2. Hmmm. You guys seem pretty sure. Is Walt Coleman's crew working this game?
  3. Yep, that's what I'm saying. Drew is the greatest ever. You got me.
  4. I'm giving sh-- to EVERYONE on the damn team, including Bledsoe. You OTOH are ONLY blaming Drew. Do you get it yet Pete? Have you figured out that football is a TEAM game? That the Bills lost as a team? That the Pats don't win BECAUSE of Brady, they win WITH him? That the Pats won as a team WITH Bledsoe in that AFCCG? Ah but yes, it's better to have a nice completion percentage, lead your team to no points, and then get injured, than to come in cold and rusty, and lead your team to points needed to win the game. I don't know, doesn't it tell you something that Brady got injured in that game badly enough to miss the remainder of it, yet he miraculously recovered and played the following weekend in the SB without so much of a hint of his injury? And yes we already established that the dink-and-dunk style the Pats were playing at that time didn't suit Bledsoe's abilities, but he still got the job done. To deny that or to talk about "what ifs" and "almosts" is the height of revisionism. It's not like the Steelers were a scrub team with a scrub defense and the Pats were playing at home. Bottom line, no Bledsoe in that game after Brady gets injured means no win. Period, unless the Patriots had some other starting-caliber QB, which wasn't likely. No one said it was pretty, but I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss.
  5. I don't know. Maybe a kicker to make a 28-yard kick. Maybe a defense to stop a 3rd string defense from scoring 6 points and going on a 9-minute drive. Maybe receivers who don't drop passes. A TE perhaps. A running game that gets more than a yard, if even that, on 1st down. I mean hell, you guys talk about how Drew can't carry the team, yet in a game when NO PART of the team shows up, he gets vilified for not carrying the team? In what alternate universe does that makes sense?
  6. We were talking about the AFCCG against the Steelers, a game he helped "win." And as for "when we need him most this year," tell me about the defense.
  7. Watching the local sports report, all indications are that Seymour is out this weekend. He's still walking with a limp and hasn't been able to practice fully, and interviews with teammates give clues that he's out. Also there has been some speculation that Roethlisberger has a bad thumb and that that is the reason he's been having trouble lately. However that's not true, and the cause might be something simpler: the gloves he's been wearing of late. He won't be wearing them this weekend.
  8. And you and the Pats fans must have brain damage because you can't grasp even the obvious.
  9. Feel free to disagree. However I'd rather have good coaches and continuity than new/unproven coaches. And the Bills can win with Bledsoe, but they'll need to upgrade the O-line to be able to get that "power running" offense, and add a TE or two.
  10. Speaking of Altoids peppermints, any guy had their significant other suck on one and then, uh, suck on something else right after? Interesting to say the least.
  11. The Pats will have new coordinators who will be hard-pressed to be as good as the guys they are replacing. The Dols will have a new HC and coordinators and it will take while for them to all get on the same page. The Jets will have a new OC and it will take time for the offense to get in-synch. The Bills will have continuity all over and that will be a good thing for them compared to the rest of the division. They need to make good moves in the off-season and good things can happen next year.
  12. First of all, I was referring to the "fact" that IF the Pats did not had Bledsoe as a backup when Brady got injured, they would have lost. As for whether they would have lost if Brady finished the game, that is unknown, but it's a lot less of a "reach" than thinking that Damon Huard could have won that Steelers game. Sure he could have matched Brady's nice completion percentage and 0 points, but that wouldn't have won the game. Also I still don't know if Brady can win a TRUE road playoff game, i.e. one in which the stadium is familar to opponent and where the crowd is deafening when the Pats have the ball. That's why I'm curious to see what happens this weekend. Brady has NOT had good memories of playing in Pgh the past few years, and I think it will be a factor, just like playing in Foxboro is a mental hurdle for Manning. And Brady was what before getting injured? Despite his nice completions percentage, in almost a full half of football his offense scored ZERO points. And as I mentioned, he had a 1st and 10 at the Steelers' 33-yard line the series before the one in which he got injured, but got sacked and lost 7 yards and the team was forced to go from a FG to punting. And AGAIN, how many almost INT's has Brady had? As I said I've seen several a game, and an "almost" INT by Bledsoe in that AFCCG isn't as bad as that "horrifying" INT Brady threw against the Panthers last SB to allow them back into the game. But again "almost" doesn't count, just like that "almost" fumble against the Raiders didn't count. And yes, Troy Brown was the MVP of that game, and it was a TEAM WIN, but anyone who thinks that Bledsoe had no part in the win, or that his efforts could have been duplicated by a scrub QB, has no brains at all.
  13. Yeah, "almost." That's why I've wanted to see Brady start AND finish a TRUE road playoff game, because he hasn't shown that he can win one yet. We'll see this weekend. Yeah, you mention Damon Huard and I'M the one reaching? Accept the facts HD. Your team loses without Bledsoe coming in for Brady. Period. You can mentally masturbate about what Damon Huard MIGHT have done had he come in, but he didn't (and everyone with a brain knows he wouldn't have won even if he DID come in), Bledsoe did, led the team to the decisivepoints, and the team won. Again, the TEAM won. Yes the ST's played a large part. Yes the defense played a large part. And yes Bledsoe played a part. It's no different than what happened in the SB against the Rams.
  14. Rix would be lucky to be drafted at all.
  15. Gray will be 35 before the season starts. Don't like that. Freddie Jones will be 31. Hamilton is young, but he's only 283#. That might not make a difference, but is something to think about.
  16. Brady had better field position the series BEFORE that one, and proceeded to get sacked and pushed out of scoring range. Gee, not playing in 4 months and not getting the majority of snaps can do that to you. But the only mistakes that count are ones that lead to turnovers and cost you the game. He didn't make any of those. And again, how many "almost INT's" has Brady had in his playoff games? I've seen several a game. But again, "almost" only counts in... First of all, Brady would not have gotten a "win" for that game. Second of all, pitchers cannot generate points. They can only prevent them. That is why you cannot compare the 2 positions. And while Bledsoe was on the field, he led the team to 10 points. The Pats won by 7 points. And when he entered the game, the pats were winning by 4 points. Do the math. Without Bledsoe the Pats lose, DESPITE the "lead" that Brady left Bledsoe with. Not to mention point-free football. And is the object to get completions and yards (Brady made "mistakes" by his inability to score points in this almost full half in the game), or score points? Seems to me that you Pats fans eschew the yardage rankings and like to talk about points scored and given-up. So too is the fact that without him, the Pats lose that AFCCG, don't make the SB, and don't win the SB mostly due to the defense, like they won the Steelers game mostly due to the ST's. The point wasn't to say that Bledsoe single-handedly won the game, but that his contributions, like Brady's in that year's SB, helped lead to a TEAM win.
  17. I'd rather get a center and put Teague at OG. I'm not sold on him as a LT given his struggles in Denver, and I think the Bills like him enough to keep him.
  18. Denver hasn't been able to trade a RB for anything substantial over the years, because people KNOW it's the O-line and system. It will be no different for Droughns, who hasn't played enough to warrant that high of a pick.
  19. As opposed to YOU? BUT....he didn't. He threw a TD, didn't turn the ball over, and the team won. Brady did nothing in his time in the game. Spin it anyway you like, thems the facts. And if you want to REALLY get into "almosts," I've got ~50,000 of them for Brady the last 4 years.
  20. Mike and Mike were talking this morning about $100M QB's who led their team to a SB as a starter, and saying that this weekend will be the first time that happens with McNabb or Vick. They mentioned Bledsoe and said that most people think he started the Steelers AFCCG back in 2001, but he didn't, and when Brady got hurt, he came in and "won the game." Sorry.
  21. The point being that Kitna didn't play well in a system in which he's been in for years, so to expect him to come to a new one and do well, for a year at best, is silly. Oh and Kitna is a whole 7 months younger than Bledsoe, will probably be looking for about $4M, and as I said, at best would be playing for a year. But I doubt he wants to go to a team who has a QB in waiting anyway, so it's pretty much moot. And that's about it for potential QB's, unless Tommy Maddox becomes free, and the same problems arise there. Well gee, since the starting DEFENSE looked so great as well, what does THAT tell you? So what? I said that him taking a paycut would be the best thing. No he's not a top QB anymore, but as recent history has proven, you don't NEED a top QB to win it all. And he's still the best option the Bills have, should Losman fail to cut it.
  22. Try to separate the playa hating from the reality. There's a market for a guy like Travis and a 2nd rounder the least they'll probably get for him. And it's a good compromise for everyone since Travis gets to play in Florida and on grass, and the Bills get him out of the division and get a 2nd rounder.
  23. That doesn't matter. The NFL had a similar thing but Pete Rozelle got the salary cap instituted. And the ultimate source of the greed is the players and specifically their agents. If the league folds, then what? It's not easy to restart a long-established league or to create an entirely new league, and it won't be done quickly. The owners are in a great position. Most are losing money each year and are losing LESS money by not playing, but they make a load with their outside businesses. The players OTOH ARE losing money and valuable years from their career. They'll cave.
  24. I don't and I'm sure most people don't. Not saying it's right, just that that's the way it is. And even though I support the seat belt law, I wouldn't have worn a seat belt in that car, been thrown from it, and thus killed, so it's not so much irony as being in the wrong part of the car, and the wrong place at the wrong time.
