Yes, the Colts receivers dropped 7 balls, but
MadBuffaloDisease replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're on SERIOUS drugs man. How you think the Pats will score 35 on the Steelers IN Pgh when they could only score 20 on the Colts at home is BEYOND insanity! And as for Dillon, who cares? The Steelers can stop him AND shut down the Pats' passing attack, just like they did on Halloween, and just like the Colts did for the first half, only to see their offense do NOTHING. And again, it's a road playoff game for the Pats, Belichick doesn't have 2 weeks to prepare for it, and the Pats won't have Law this time OR Seymour at 100%. -

Seems to me he destroyed the Patriots and struggled against the Jets during the regular season as well. And again you're ignoring the Steelers' defense against the Pats' offense, in light of how the Colts' weak defense on the road was able to hold the Pats to 6 points. -
Fair enough.

I've seen him lose fumbles that were blown dead by the zebras. It's happened at least 3 times this year. Oh and IIRC, you said that a recovered fumble doesn't matter, because then Travis only lost 3 fumbles last year.

So was Bledsoe REALLY the problem?
MadBuffaloDisease replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really. They're unfamiliar surrounds for BOTH teams, and the crowd isn't favoring any particular team. -

He believes it. I do think that the Steelers at home can take advantage of the Pats' depleted secondary better than the Colts could, and I like the Steelers' O-line and running game better. They're also not a dome team with a wuss mentality. And the Colts' defense held the Pats to 6 points in the 1st half, so I think that the Steelers' defense, again being at home, can do a number on them. Remember that Brady has never won a road playoff game, and no the SB doesn't count since it's a neutral field. -

No one said to take comfort, just to put things in perspective. If Brady had to face Belichick, he'd look like a 6th round draft pick. -
Yeah, just like in the Bills game. Oh but wait, fumbles lost in reality versus the stat sheet only apply to Travis.

I heard Phil Simms say that Rodney Harrison was more confident this year than last year facing the Colts, because they figured out some tendencies of the Colts. But that's what happens when you spend 2 weeks looking at game film. That being said, a short week to prepare for the Steelers AIN'T gonna cut it. -

Regardless of who is the QB, the Bills need a better O-line period. The running game isn't where it needs to be, and Willis is making most of the yards himself (just as Henry did). The loss of the TE's hurt badly as well, but that was bad luck more than anything else. -

Again, where was that 2nd ranked defense when the 3rd string offense of the Steelers was driving for the go-ahead FG after Lindell missed the FG? How about later with the 9-minute all-run drive? What about the ST's that played poorly in that game, and frankly went down the crapper once they started getting all the good press? And the Bills' running game, as already pointed out, lost or gained none or little yardage on 5 first downs, putting the team in 2nd and long, while receivers were again dropping balls. Oh and didn't Mike Pucillo get into the game? And that's just the last game of the season. The game today revealed that the Pats can make ANYONE look bad, while the early part of the season didn't have Willis or Evans making near the contributions they did later-on. He would have cost less against the cap, but he wouldn't have been nearly as successful. There's a reason why Shane Matthews was an at-best journeyman QB. And it's true that the most popular guy on any football team is the backup QB, because everyone KNOWS he can do a better job than the starter. -

Sorry but I made this thread before I got your explanation in your thread, which was saying the same thing. Somebody snipe me! -

I really hope Drew takes a paycut. I am NOT comfortable going into next season with Losman, a journeyman vet, and some nobody as the QB's. Who knows, maybe today's game will make TD rethink his position (or maybe make Drew rethink it). -
That's what I thought you were trying to say, but the "get Manning a better defense" thing threw me off since I didn't think anyone would be blaming his defense for today's performance. So bravo on the post. But then again, I'd be interested to see what Manning COULD do with Brady's defense and coaches. That would be an awesome sight!

After seeing what the Patriots did to the NFL MVP and his offense, which everyone would agree is MUCH better than the Bills', does that loss in New Wangland prior to the 6-game losing streak look so bad now? And what about if the Steelers whoop up on the Pats next weekend, will that put the week 17 game into perspective as well? Seems to me watching the Pats that Brady wouldn't win a game without his defense and ST's setting the team up nicely. Without WR's getting open, catching the ball, and holding onto the ball. Without the O-line giving him some time or at least some semblance of a pocket. Without play-calling that makes sense or at least is innovative. I don't know, maybe that's just me. But what I DO know is that the Bills need to get better personnel because it's not like JP will be able to make guys catch the ball any better, or the O-line block any better. Hell just look at Vick. He took a LOT more sacks than Bledsoe, but his rushing abilities also allowed him to gain yardage on his own. Can JP do that? Doubtful.

It's all Bledsoe's fault. He sucks, just like Manning.
-
As much as I hated Marino, the guy NEVER had a RB or defense the caliber of what some of the QB winners have had, including Brady. And Esiason shouldn't talk since he also lost a SB.
-
I'm not sure I understand your post. Are you saying the Bills would be foolish to get rid of Bledsoe, because the Pats made Manning and his offense, clearly a better offense than the Bills', look inept? Or are you just saying that the defense wasn't to blame?

How would the Bills of been if we drafted Dillon?
MadBuffaloDisease replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wanted Dillon over Antowain back then. However Dillon is a cretin and I'm glad the Bills never drafted him. If there is a football god, and I'm starting to doubt it, Dillon will never win a SB. -
Don't worry. Weis and probably Crennel as well will be gone. Their players are aging. The Bills need to improve the O-line and things will be different.

They put up a better fight last year in worse conditions all-around. No excuse for what happened today. None. Kind of puts the Bills' loss at NE into perspective, eh? -
And people don't think this is a Dynasty?

The Steelers know how to play outside a dome, and it will be their home crowd. -
I'm going to have to root for the Steelers! I hate the Steelers, but I hate teams who cheat even more.
