  1. I think it's safe to say that Bill Cowher will NEVER win a SB. His team totally dominated the Pats in the first meeting, had the best record in the NFL and HFA throughout the playoffs, and most of the advantages going into the playoff game, yet his team loses by 14! It's just never going to happen for him. And so far I have to give the Pats props. Blowout wins without any ref involvement. Belichick and that coaching staff is amazing, and I'll be glad when Weis and Crennel are gone.
  2. I figured those would follow from the "plugged the monitor into the new card..." thing. But you never know.
  3. You plugged the monitor cable into the new card, right? Just checking the basics.
  4. Anyone who thinks that Henry is only worth a 5th is on some serious drugs! Like I posted in another thread, if Lamar Gordon, whose best season was 298 yards at 4.2 YPC and 1 TD, and who fumbles once every 28.5 times (versus once every 41.9 for Travis) could go for a high 3rd rounder, Travis should net a 2nd easy. I could give a rip what Dillon went for (much less Faulk and Bettis did, over 6 years ago). Now if TD is adamant about a 2nd rounder at least and no one offers one, Travis won't get traded before the draft. But like Gordon, he could be traded later-on for a 2nd rounder next year.
  5. Do PCI-E cards fit in PCI slots?
  6. I believe he has someone else tabbed. Pees IIRC only joined the Pats last year after their LB'er coach became DC of the Raiders. I'm assuming Pees has some tie-in with Saban.
  7. That sounds like the info I heard from LAST off-season, down to the team (Raiders) and pick (5th rounder), when everyone knew the Bills weren't going to trade him while Willis was still unknown/unproven. BTW did your friend know that Lamar Gordon (a guy whose best output has been 298 yards for 4.2 YPC and 1 TD, and who fumbles once every 28.5 touches) would get traded for a 3rd rounder?
  8. Drafting Denney and letting Fisher go wasn't the wrong move. Fisher didn't do anything in his 1st 2 years in STL and only this past year had a decent season with 8.5 sacks. But he's not a run-stopper and the Bills would have ended up drafting Kelsay last year anyway, because Fisher likely would have been cut either after 2002 or 2003.
  9. Yep, that would explain the reason the Pats made the SB 2 of the last 3 years.
  10. I don't know about Canada (and in that case, just ignore the Canadian franchises), but I don't know why it would be different for the NHL versus the NFL, who similarly used replacement players in the past. Maybe it's a difference of a "strike" versus a "lockout?" However I believe I've heard some reputable sources talk about the owners using replacement players, and Rob Ray specifically addressed the issue, saying he'd cross the lines if it came down to that.
  11. It will be back by at least 2006, possibly partway through the 2005-2006 season. Once the owners go with replacement players and some former NHL players cross the lines, all the players will evenutally give in.
  12. I doubt the Jets have the money to franchise Abraham. And I also doubt Jordan would re-sign with them with Martin still their top RB, unless it was for mad money. And out of the 5 teams who expressed interest in Henry, the Raiders were a distant 5. I still think he goes to the Bucs.
  13. Yeah and like I told HD, I also picked the Pats over the Dolphins on MNF.
  14. Ding! Thanks for playing. The Pats/Belichick aren't in the heads of the Steelers/Cowher like they are with the Colts/Manning. There's no worry on the Steelers' part about playing in cold weather, being on the road, or tampering with the field. There's also no "woe is us, we're the defending champs and we get no respect" for the Pats to use as motivation, instead the OPPOSITE since the Steelers beat them during the regular season, had the best record in the NFL, and are at home, but the underdogs. Belichick will actually have to outcoach Cowher DURING the game, and he better come up with a great plan because he got schooled the last time they played.
  15. The one you'll be crying after the Pats lose Sunday and prove you wrong?
  16. No they're not. You'll see this Sunday. Teams who are allegedly better don't lose to 2 win (at the time) teams. They also don't get blownout in the regular season by the team to whom they are allegedly inferior.
  17. True, the Steelers have done nothing. They've only won 15 games in a row, destroyed the other 2 top teams in the regular season, and overcome numerous injuries. But you're right. They almost lost to the Jets. That's worse than losing to the Dolphins. If I were the Steelers, I'd be pissed off as well. They're getting no respect. That won't bode well for the Pats, since that's their shtick.
  18. Ask him if he's talked with scouts for the Panthers, Cards, Dols, Bucs, and oh yes, the Raiders? I'm sure in his estimation, Henry is worthless, but when teams come out and say, despite the possibility of being fined for talking about a player under contract, that they'd be interested in Travis, it carries some weight with me. And to say that the Bills "would be lucky to get anything" for Travis is ridiculous.
  19. The difference is that the Pats didn't play the Panthers during the regular season last year, so no one knew how they'd matchup. And the Steelers aren't some wimpy dome team. But hey, that's why they play the games. If not, the Pats would have been given the SB back in September.
  20. Is there a word that is a stronger version of the word "wrong?" Un-F'ing-believably wrong, perhaps? Because that would apply here.
  21. I've given the Pats their props for their regular season prowess. It's their habit of being helped in the post-season that I can't stand. A ridiculous "tuck" call and they don't make the AFCCG in 2001. The refs calling even just 1/3 of those 15 missed holding calls against the Colts last year and they don't make the SB. For perspective, I hate the Red Sox as well, but I can at least give them their props for what they did last season, because there was no officiating controversy. So yes I think that they've done it on "karma" and that thinking they'll continue to do it on "karma" is more ridiculous than looking at what the Steelers did back on Halloween, seeing how the Pats have lost some players since then, and seeing what the Steelers did to the Bills in a meaningless game (for them) to end the season. Now had the Steelers lost back on Halloween, or if the game were being played in NE, I wouldn't be talking the way I am. But that isn't the case.
  22. Yes, Oakland. Geez louise! The point being there are 5 teams who have expressed interest in Travis IN THE MEDIA.
  23. Others for ME: "Sad But True"-Metallica "Still Of The Night"-Whitesnake (that song being what I envisioned Zep sounding like had they all survived to the mid-80's) "No More Tears"-Ozzy
  24. You got it nailed. Pats will lose. They have NO advantages in this game, except for the nebulous "well they've found a way to win in the past." There's no homefield, no weather, no "we're being disrespected," no talent, and most importantly no mind trick advantages. Simply put, Cowher is too dumb and too much of a brute to KNOW he shouldn't be able to beat Belichick. The last matchup on Halloween was a classic example of brawns over brains, and nothing will change, except Seymour won't be in the lineup. And again WRT the Pats' offense and how Dillon and Branch will be playing this time, the Pats scored a whole 6 points against the lousy Colts' defense in the 1st half last weekend, until exploding in the 2nd because, well, the Colts have a lousy defense.
