  1. This is precisely what I'm afraid of. Now that Trent is getting some media love, Wilfork might take the law into his own hands. The OL better have the game of their lives in Foxboro.
  2. We now like Trent Dilfer, right?
  3. Last night was a test for Denver and they failed miserably. Turnovers and defense falling asleep at the wheel. That was an extremely disappointing effort. That said, they'll still be tough to beat in Mile High in December.
  4. You put way too much blame on him. Why not blame Moulds for fumbling on the first play of the game or Reed for not keeping his composure at the goal line? Better yet....look at the way the refs officiated that game. Flutie had his faults, but he was the biggest reason the Bills were even in that playoff game.
  5. What game were you watching? I don't ever remember Reed "throwing the ball at the ref"...he just got up quickly and bumped into the ref. The problem with that play was that Reed (along with most people) thought he got into the end zone and the ref never called it. By far, the most intelligent thing ever said by Wade Phillips.
  6. Which is exactly what Vegas wants you to do.
  7. Maybe they should have just eaten cheeseburgers.
  8. How could we expect anything less? You knew the word "power" was going to be overused today.
  9. Couldn't agree more, but the problem is that the games happen one day a week and there's only so much play that can be analyzed. When E$PN covers stuff, they pick the material that would get the most viewers and today, it's how bad the Cowboys are. Tomorrow, it'll be how Brett Favre didn't finish his bowl of Cheerios, so something might be wrong with him. Just like sex sells on prime time TV dramas, the Cowboys' drama (supposedly) brings in the most viewers. The only way the Bills will get their due exposure is if they make the big game.
  10. $$$$$$$$$$$ Dallas is a big market and they have fans across the country. The more E$PN talks about them, the more people will watch. Same goes with the Red Sox...though ESPN covers them like NESN does.
  11. And this is why it's good to lose a game once in a while. The more a team wins, the more they start to feel invincible and take the opposition for granted. I'd rather have a team that's 4-1 and knows they need to work for every win instead of a 5-0 team that just thinks they'll win before the game starts.
  12. We don't do it just with the QB....we do the same with RBs & WRs also. You start 2 QBs, 3 RBs, & 4 WRs. The lowest score of each of those positions is dropped.
  13. I think the way Romo throws, it really is the pinky that leaves the ball last. He's kind of a side-winder/slinger of the ball. Nevertheless, it's a lose-lose for him. If he plays, he risks getting hurt or continued aggravation of the injury, resulting in less production from him. If he doesn't play, he gets called a wuss/girl/whatever because his pinky is injured.
  14. Bingo. None of these teams look flawless from top to bottom, even the undefeated Titans. Every team has shown weaknesses and some teams are not nearly as good as their record might show. At the same time, other teams are better than what their record is.
  15. I thought the "elite" label was a bit too much, but if you think about it....San Diego gets a lot of good press despite their record (they really should be 4-2) and they have big names (LT, Gates, Rivers). Talent-wise, they are one of the better teams in the league and their D is solid even without Merriman. This would be a HUGE win and make a lot of the pundits think the Bills are for real. Considering this is my annual trip to the Ralph, they better win!
  16. I have Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers, with Matt Ryan as a 3rd QB. We start 2 QBs in my league and the lower scorer of the two is dropped from my total points. If the Falcons didn't have a bye this week, it would be a no-brainer to start Ryan & Rodgers, but since they don't.... Do you start Romo now that he's talking about playing? I presumed earlier this week that he wouldn't, so I picked up Ryan Fitzpatrick as insurance (Brad Johnson was claimed off waivers before I could get him). I realize my situation isn't terribly dire since only 1 QB's numbers count.
  17. No, he has every right to complain about that and I agree with him that the league is getting too pansy-ish. Either that or the league is simply trying to bring in more money by levying more fines for hits that are part of the game. But to say these guys "wouldn't have enough money" after paying the fines is a bit ludicrous.
  18. 'Pansy' league "When you see guys like Dick Butkus, the Ronnie Lotts, the Jack Tatums, these guys really went after people," Polamalu told reporters. "Now, they couldn't survive in this type of game. They wouldn't have enough money. They'd be paying fines all the time and they'd be suspended for a year after they do it two games in a row. It's kind of ridiculous." Yeah...poor players. Those $15K fines really take away from the millions in salary. I know what he means about Butkus, Lott, Tatum, et al not being able to play their game, but c'mon.
  19. Because they are the beloved Pats*, no matter who the QB is...and because the 3-3 Chargers dismantled said Pats* on national TV.
  20. Bingo. Peterson will pretty much do whatever it takes to make Tony G happy.
  21. It might depend on who the competition is. If another AFC team (especially an AFC East team) is in play for TG, he may consider upping the ante for him.
  22. I was hoping for that, too. Norv has enough class not to do that, but he might have gained a lot more respect around the league had he gone for it.
  23. There goes my lead in my fantasy league standings.
  24. Sweet....I hope we got Kevin Boss.
  25. Someone has to be yanking our chain....do we really believe Freddie was involved in a Tony Gonzalez trade?
