  1. I had the game muted while listening to Murph & Kelso.....one play I specifically remember was Richard Seymour taking down Marc Bulger WELL AFTER he threw the ball. Bulger was rolling to his right away from pressure, threw the pass (incomplete on a 3rd down, I believe), then Seymour hit him. Clear roughing the passer to me, with the ref watching the whole thing. No flag. I think I almost saw Seymour stare at the official as if to say "Don't you dare throw that flag".
  2. Disagree. It's the right call because you want something out of your first drive once you get into the red zone. How would you have felt if they went for the TD on 4th down and didn't get it....already being behind 7-0?
  3. That was almost as bad as Joe Namath's interview with Suzy Kolber. Sal's in some serious trouble now....he may not be employed by E$PN much longer.
  4. They shouldn't be motivated by a Vegas line, because the Vegas line has little to do with the actual game. I would guess they want people to bet on the Bills, since many think the Bills would cover a 1.5-point spread.
  5. MLB went screwy with the whole playoff schedule this year....TV dictates it ( ), so the games are played when TBS/Fox can maximize their ratings.
  6. He looked pretty close to doing just that on Monday evening when Mortensen called him out for the Buffalo hat thing.
  7. So we want to let the feds have yet another thing to tax....so that money can go to the bailout of banks with greedy CEOs?
  8. I guess it's time to take Nate Washington off my bench and into the starting lineup!
  9. This is actually a good point....unless it's Green Bay, why pick against the smaller market team? By picking the bigger market team to win, you win over those fans and get more people to believe you and look for your picks from week to week. Being this is Buffalo, Mortensen's selection was probably a no-brainer for him, anyway.
  10. In no way am I defending Mortensen, but this could be one of those "bad" losses that the Bills don't see coming. To me, Miami is an enigma right now...you just don't know which team will show up from week to week. I think if Jauron has these guys prepared, they should win. Yes, both teams are improved, but they're at different levels of "improved" at the moment.
  11. This is generally what I've determined, also. I attend one game a year and make the drive from the Albany area on Saturday, stay with friends that night, tailgate with the same friends Sunday AM, then make the drive back after the game. I park in a lot on 20A, then head back to the 219...simple & easy, really. I never did the Express, but I imagine it takes a while to gather the group together, plus Amtrak will make 3-4 stops before Albany. I usually get back home by 10:30PM, provided I can get out of the lot between 5:00 & 5:30.
  12. He won't hold any opinion back. When he first came on TV, his obnoxious side was too much for me, but he seems more mellow now. Either he's scaled the obnoxiousness back a little or I've become more tolerant.
  13. Will do....can you lend me $150 for the package and the $30/month for DirecTV service?
  14. Precisely. Don't even bother unless you like getting laughed at.
  15. His NFL career was reincarnated as Joey Porter.
  16. My favorite Dolphins games.... December 23, 1990 - The Bills beat Miami 24-14 with Frank Reich running the ship, clinching their first AFC East title and home field throughout the playoffs. January 12, 1991 - AFC Divisional Playoff.....they beat the trash-talking Fins 44-34, prompting Thurman Thomas to say during the postgame that they played pretty well and still got their a$$es kicked.
  17. Jauron may be right about the extra prep, but it's not like it's a secret anymore.
  18. "Dallas is full of cokeheads and debutants...half of whom play for the Cowboys." -Hank Hill
  19. It's not that far-fetched, but they'll likely have to get into the playoffs by winning the division. They already have Dallas, Washington, Carolina, Atlanta, Green Bay/Chicago ahead of them for the WC (albeit with 9 weeks to go). I think we all knew this wasn't a bad team....just seems like Linehan had the wrong vision.
  20. Right, but that wasn't someone calling Gruden to tell him what the Raiders were doing. Bill Callahan NEVER changed a thing from Gruden's offense and Gruden was able to figure that out for himself. Doing stuff like this (like RJ calling out Jacksonville's formations) during a game is harmless to me. It's like stealing signs in baseball....if you're able to do it with the naked eye, then more power to you. Every team in every sport these days should be able to change stuff like signs, play calls, formation names, etc. before they play their next opponent. It's part of the strategy these days to prevent the opponent from figuring out your signals. After thinking about it, I'll retract the investigation comment. Even if it was true and even if it did violate some league rule, who would you punish and how? If you suspend Favre, why should the Jets pay for it (not that I'd mind)? If you suspend/fine Marinelli, why should he have to be punished? In the end, it really just makes Favre look like a pr*ck.
  21. As you say, Brady was pulled into the spiraling orbit of Belicheat. Trent doesn't have anyone around him who's like that. Jauron seems to be the anti-Belichick and is one who would always make sure Trent's head doesn't get any bigger than his helmet.
  22. In casual conversation, sure. The difference is that (allegedly) Favre took the initiative to call the Lions with the intent of providing "secrets". To me, that's worthy of an investigation.
  23. Don't really care right now...and it doesn't look like it's affecting his play.
  24. Don't let the door hit you on the way out...
