  1. Fred Jackson for Tony G???
  2. What they should do is take the timeout-calling ability away from the coaches. It can prevent this BS from happening and can also prevent a team from hurting itself. Remember when the Ravens should have beaten the Pats* last year on the Monday night game? Had the coaches not called a timeout on the 4th down the Pats* eventually converted, we wouldn't have been vomiting about the undefeated cheaters the rest of the season.
  3. We've only seen this when the QB has been hit, right? So if this ever happens when the QB tucks the ball and begins to run, they should be blowing the whistle immediately. I'll bet a week's salary that won't happen, though. I think The Dean is right...we never see this in a huge situation, but that's because the situation becomes huge as a turnover gets overturned.
  4. Romo got hit and fumbled the ball in the end zone while he was tucking it away after he stopped/faked a forward pass attempt. This took away a TD for Arizona and Dallas is now marching down the field. I thought the tuck rule was abolished a few years ago...maybe I mis-heard that, however. Can someone confirm?
  5. Maybe it's just me, but ever since replay was reinstated, the officiating has gotten significantly worse.
  6. Perhaps because Houston had no timeouts left and didn't think they'd call a run of any kind with 7 seconds left? I was calling for a draw or QB draw on 3rd down, but when Miami had nobody....and I mean nobody....in the middle of the field, the call seemed to be a no-brainer.
  7. And which is now a penalty....you can't break the huddle with more than 11 players - you get an illegal substitution penalty.
  8. I don't know about beating Miami *easily*, but I think they can beat them. Houston has the players to do it, but they need to play a full 60-minute game. Miami is better than people think, but I don't see them as a playoff contender just yet.
  9. It makes sense....I now know why we never see The Dean and Chris Mortensen in the same place at the same time. Hmmm......
  10. Other than that, he's a pretty good QB!
  11. Disagree.... I was yelling at JP to do something with it on the same play that Beurlein was criticizing him for. Sure, the line could've helped him more, but it was 4 seconds before anything happened. Beurlein is correct - the QB should have an internal clock to know that he has to do something if his reads aren't open.
  12. You don't trust the Bills coaching staff to realize the same thing? I think the San Diego game will really tell us about this group - coaches and players combined. Yes, they have 2 weeks to figure it out, but how they rebound from a cover-your-eyes awful game like this will tell me something. But I also think that's more from the defense's perspective - presuming Trent is ready to play, the offense will be a different one than was on the field yesterday.
  13. Because it's their first such streak in two years.
  14. It almost looked like they were afraid to blitz. The entire Arizona roster was getting open on every play even with the defense playing coverage. Yes, there's less time to get the pass off on a blitz, but these guys were open right off the snap.
  15. Collinsworth is the main reason I'd rather not watch the show, but they went overboard with the highlights by bringing in Dan Patrick. Olberman does just fine by himself. This is the one instance where I'd rather see ESPN do something.
  16. I was impressed with Flacco. It was the first time I had seen him play and he looked pretty solid and confident...until the second half. Looks like the Baltimore defense is returning to form, too.
  17. I certainly am...it's been a while since we've been given some national recognition. I just hope the guys can follow this through....but if we lose to the Pats*, all we'll hear is how the Bills are too young and the Pats* are still the greatest thing to happen to the NFL since Tedy Bruschi was born.
  18. Down by 9, Pittsburgh had the ball in Philly territory on 4th & long with (I think) under a minute left. Tomlin had the offense go for it and Roethlisberger threw an incomplete pass. The play would have been to kick the FG (I think the ball was around the 25 or 30 yard line) then try for the on-sides kick.
  19. Not only that, but the part about the loneliness....a lot of players go home and power up the PS3 or Wii and go at it for a few hours, then get up the next day and do it all over again. Good article. Makes me want to pick up that Edwards throwback jersey.
  20. That's it, we're doomed now.
  21. I trust Vic's opinion more than ESPN. I think the wins over Seattle & Jacksonville are looking better in some people's minds.
  22. I think it's safe to say that the rest of the league will be ready for it within the next few weeks. It helps Miami, Oakland & whoever else has the personnel to run it in that it gives their opponents something else to think about, but the word is out now.
  23. Don't know if we can say they learned their lesson, since they're only going up against San Diego @ Oakland.
  24. I'm sure Jerry Butler would come in for a tryout, too.
  25. Denver's offense has to be at the top of the league right now, even though they don't have a clear-cut #1 running back. Cutler is looking more legit and they have a dangerous receiving corps. However, they have given up a lot of points on defense - 38 to San Diego (a game they should have lost) and 32 to New Orleans. The Raiders were a mess in week 1. Had Hochuli made the right call in week 2, Denver & San Diego would be 2-1 and nobody would be talking about Denver just yet. The Bills, Titans, and *cough*Ravens*cough* would be the only unbeatens.
