  1. Apparently, that word was NOT final... We did it!!!!!!
  2. For anyone interested, feel free to post a comment to the article I posted earlier. Gazette Ken Schott is probably the premier sports writer in the area (IMO, at least).
  3. Stop. Please.
  4. It already IS a Jets area. The Jets have more priority than the Bills do - which is something I won't argue with, as we're much closer to NYC than Buffalo. Not to mention, the Jets are going to be on, anyway - CBS has the doubleheader. Someone at WRGB has to realize that the Colts-Vikings has ZERO local interest, so why not put on a game that at least has a New York-based team with a good (if not excellent) following in the Albany area? WRGB can only help their local ratings by doing this.
  5. I got Furlong's response from Doug Sherman and Ken Schott of the Gazette in Schenectady wrote this: Gazette This just blows me away. There are more Bills fans in my neighborhood than there are Colts & Vikings fans in the area combined. What a f**kin' joke. Not to mention, I was looking forward to watching the Bills live on my 50" HD plasma for the first time. :D
  6. I'm impressed also....I'll be more impressed if they actually change it.
  7. I just sent my email to Doug Sherman....awaiting response. My money is on something like "Sorry, we kiss up to the big boys and do whatever they want."
  8. I'm not saying every Bills fan in this area doesn't have a dish/Sunday Ticket, but there are enough around here that don't have it and don't want to. And for the most part, we don't see the Bills unless they're playing the Jets. Even if they're playing the Pats*, there's no guarantee. The Seattle game was an exception because it was on Fox and the Giants had already played the Thursday game. The Jets & Giants are king around here....and there are a number of games later in the season where the Jets & Bills conflict (i.e., play at the same time on the same network), so with the Favre lovefest going on all year long, there's no way in Hades we're going to see the Bills those weeks.
  9. I was afraid this would come up....let's not get into this one, please. Some of us can't afford a dish or pay for the ticket. I emailed Doug Sherman last year about them not showing the Bills and he gave me the same response - they just go with what the corporate guys in NYC want. They must have ticked someone off or just have zero influence at all. The game I asked about wasn't changed and I avoided CBS for those 3 hours. This surprises me because of the way the Bills rolled over Seattle. I can buy the name recognition thing, but someone needs to realize that there are PLENTY of Bills fans in this area. Maybe they'll change the plan if they get enough complaints, but we need to start emailing & calling now.
  10. That's pretty much true of 90% of posters on ALL message boards across the internet these days.
  11. Or if Devard Darling was able to get away from the defense... Agreed. Remember Bledsoe became the next Wally Pipp when Brady took over. Not saying Cassel is capable of being Lou Gehrig, but we really don't know what he's capable of. We only have the Miami game last year and this year's preseason to go on, and that's not much. That said, E$PN was saying this morning that the Patriots* were going to bring in Chris Simms and Tim Rattay for a look-see.
  12. The plays were a bit different... Yesterday, Brady was still in the process of throwing when the KC player went to hit him. It was a little low, but not late. In JP's case, he had already gotten rid of the ball when Wilfork dove at his leg.
  13. That would have made the most sense to me, too. I'm a little concerned at how quickly he went on IR, but I'm more annoyed with the fact that we have a season-ending injury before the first game is played.
  14. They have beer goggles for Favre.
  15. Based on the latest projections, Saturday is supposed to be the only real bad day on the East coast....and not even until later in the day. Sunday looks to be clear.
  16. Not to mention health....this defense can be good (maybe even better) provided everyone stays on the field.
  17. Hammer, meet head of the nail.
  18. Hopefully, they don't change, but I can't see another Fox-televised game that would be worth showing in this area. Typically, the Bills come after the Jets and Giants and sometimes the Patriots* in the Albany area.
  19. Pick one of my 4 Bills t-shirts to wear for the day....not sexy, but it works. I usually reserve the jerseys for big games or playoffs. Now that I'm not doing my Sunday afternoon bowling league, I might make a weekly snack for game time (be it on TV or listening to Murph over the internet) and settle into a spot in front of my new 50" plasma.
  20. That two-week period going out to Seattle, then back out to Oakland might hurt them, too. I know it's the Raiders, but they're coming off a tough team at home (Seattle), then have to go back out to the west coast a few days later.
  21. Forget it, he's rolling.
  22. Imagine what would've happened if he had stuck it out with the Yankees and was actually good....
  23. I think the Patriots* number is skewed due to their recent success. It's quite easy to find an obnoxious Boston fan pretty much anywhere in the country right now. Once they start losing again, the Travel & Loyal numbers would quickly go to 5.
