  1. Are you saying that poster is wrong about Lynch? I probably wouldn't go so far to say he sacrifices yards to avoid contact, but sacrifices yards to try and get more yards...which fails about 99% of the time. I'll say this to my grave - Fred Jackson is a better runner and better overall back than Lynch. I think the Bills made the right move.
  2. I'm tellin' ya...he's got compromising pictures of someone high up.
  3. I think everyone's forgetting that Jackson is generally a better RB than Lynch. I've said this a million times - Jackson runs downhill, hits the holes hard, and focuses on forward movement (i.e., gaining yards). He'll fall forward and pick up an extra yard instead of dancing, juking, and wasting time by running sideways to TRY and pick up and extra 5. He can also catch the ball just as well as Lynch does. They've lined him up in the slot (and even wide sometimes) and acts as a 4th WR. They don't need 3 RBs. It was the luxury they had once Spiller was drafted.
  4. As I say to everyone, what does getting the #1 pick guarantee for us? Sure, the best possible player available, but do we really want to keep hearing about a holdout by said player when Ralph doesn't want to pay him what #1 picks have been getting? They very well may get the #1 pick, but that doesn't mean they should try to lose and potentially alienate an already slimming and apathetic fan base. Not to mention, further rumors about the team leaving, Buddy & Chan's jobs being in jeopardy, and (did we forget?) the integrity of the game.
  5. Invalid argument. No, of course not. But that's not the point. This trade does two things - leaves the better RB on the team and gives them more draft picks. Just like Got_Wood said, the 4th can be used to move up if they want to.
  6. I'm guessing that you just saw Major League for the first time?
  7. Correct, but they need to rebuild. Draft picks are the best way to do that. Plus with Jackson & Spiller on the roster, it's not like they won't have guys who can't run the ball. It wouldn't matter to be if it came down to whether it's Jackson or Lynch, but I just think they need to stockpile picks.
  8. This is like telling everyone to not buy gas on a specific day to protest the rising gas prices...when everyone will be buying it the day after, anyway.
  9. Agree that they didn't address the most important needs, but you fail him (miserably) after 4 frikkin' games? Don't most drafts take 3 years to really show how well they worked out?
  10. Sorry - no link. I heard it on the WGR post game yesterday.
  11. At least he's saying the right things this time. I liked his comment how they didn't lose focus because they never had it in the first place. Paul Hamilton said that Whitner and maybe one other player in that locker room appeared mad after the game. His observation was that the players generally didn't seem to care. Perhaps that attitude is a holdover from the Dickie-J era, but you can't have that anywhere in this league. Things will need to change...soon.
  12. If you're talking about the first drive, I'm pretty sure that was Kelsay who got juked by LT. I even remember sarcastically thinking that the extension was worth it right there.
  13. As it turns out, I should have started him on my fantasy team yesterday - he had more points in my league than Flacco & Matt Ryan combined.
  14. That just means he's due.
  15. Lending less credibility to this rumor is that the Broncos just traded for Laurence Maroney and they have Knowshon Moreno ready to come back soon. Not gonna happen.
  16. The thread title implies it's actually in the works, when you have no proof of that.
  17. Sorry, but I gotta go with Hamdan on this. Don't claim to be a fan, then hope an opposing QB "shoves it in the faces" of our coach, GM, & owner. There are times to criticize them, but a real fan doesn't hope his team loses.
  18. This. I can imagine the logistics nightmare of parking & traffic, but I'd probably want that problem if the revitalization came with it. And yes - change the thread title or provide a link.
  19. I just joked about this with a friend of mine. Or maybe it isn't a joke...
  20. TD did get the Bills out of cap jail, after all. 2001 was difficult to go through, but it needed to be done. That's about all I gave him credit for. His drafts went for the flashy player (Parrish, McGahee) instead of what they needed (OL or DL). I know people bash him for the Mike Williams thing, but did anyone at the time think that drafting MW was a bad move? They had the #4 pick and needed an offensive lineman.
  21. Not just that, really. You said it - he's overselling Donahoe. He'll give credit to Donahoe every chance he gets, which is on every chat or SportsCenter segment. He jumps on it every time something good is talked about Buffalo and finds a way to relate it to TD.
  22. How do you know that Gailey just made up his mind this week? He could have been thinking all along that this was Edwards' last chance to prove himself. If he didn't work out, then move on. That could have been his plan all along. If Edwards performed up to snuff, then that would be one less position to worry about. Gailey basically gave himself options by letting Edwards be the starter instead of closing that loop right away. Didn't he say in preseason (or maybe shortly after he got the job) that everyone's job was going to be evaluated? This would tell me that everyone is playing for their job.
  23. Then give us draft picks. It's pretty clear the Bills are rebuilding/reconstructing, so the best thing to do is stock up on picks. I think Lynch is a good all-around back, but I like Jackson more. He's a better runner than Lynch - hits the hole hard instead of dancing around for more yardage. He may be 30, but I think he can still give us a few more years than everyone thinks.
  24. Could there actually be some sanity in the News' newsroom? If so, Bob is showing glimpses of it. Thank you, Mr. DiCesare. Can you now go have a professional chat with Tim Graham?
  25. While possible, I highly doubt it. Trent was reportedly surprised by the release and I don't think he's the type to complain and ask for a trade or to be let go. He may have been a well-liked guy, but my gut tells me that the rest of the offense was sick of the inept play. Once the staff decided Trent wasn't going to play anymore, the decision seemed simple. They probably could have kept him on the team as the 3rd (read: emergency) QB, but that sends an indirect message to Trent that he's done. To me, this was the professional thing to do - tell him outright and do it now so he can work on another chance.
