For anyone keeping tabs, CB Trey Amos has reportedly been “lights out” in camp and is likely to start for the Commies. I know there was a lot of back and forth between him, Hairston, and the Michigan corner, who’s also looking good.

Did you see the play? Others are saying it was Rapp who got beat, but in any case both starting safeties were there for practice today. -
Rapp might be the slowest starting safety in the league but generally takes good angles. It’s good for these things to happen in practice, would be less beneficial for the defense if the Bears offense didn’t make any plays.

I think I’d like it if Jenna Cottrell and Maddy Glab switched jobs. -
Didn’t the Bears dominate the Dolphins in their joint practice? Good to see the Bills were the better team today with all things considered.

Both Rapp and Bishop have been full participants. But yes, they need to work on their chemistry and communication. -

Tre is a great guy, top notch personality, but you probably won’t find anyone who has torn both an ACL AND an Achilles who managed to get back to the athlete they once were. -

I think it’s thud since they’ve got a game Sunday but there are reports of players hitting the ground and both sides getting very chippy. -

Sal C said the pass defense has given up too much on the day, but the run D has been solid. The secondary will continue to be a weakness until it’s not. -

As for the joint practice, sounds like a big day for Elijah Moore. -
It’s only 5 shows, just for the preseason. They have separate teams (a conference) they’ll highlight for in season.

I don’t think I’ve heard one question about SVPG’s injury. He hasn’t practiced once, even in minicamp if I remember correctly. What’s going on with his calf? -
I would hate that they’d take our best and most disruptive DT, but we have a deep DT room. I would rather they take a DE because we have too many of those with Hoecht coming back after 6 games, but gun to head, I’d make that deal. Parsons will be a first ballot hall of famer, Oliver has made a pro bowl or two. Big difference between the two players.
-
It would be so Buffalo-like if Allen defies all these odds and becomes the one outlier to never make a Super Bowl. Yes, I realize it is not his fault, it’s that defense the coach can’t seem to get right when it matters. It’s also offensive players letting him down in crucial moments when there’s a play to be made (Dawkins, Diggs, Sherfield, Kincaid).
-
Looked like he came in out of control, didn’t seem intentional. But yeah, you gotta keep your feet when around your own QB.
-
Yeah, the Bills are taking the drama away from the cameras. Also remember hearing how Allen shooed the cameras away when they tried to approach Hairston just after his injury. Is this the first Hard Knocks that won’t show players getting released? Maybe the team was hopeful HBO would move off of them when they put these parameters in place, but for our benefit they didn’t walk.
-
The dysfunctional teams are for more interesting to watch, since the drama is built into their dysfunction, but I enjoy my team’s content. Probably wouldn’t watch if it was another successful team like the Chiefs of the Ravens.
-
If some reports are true, that he’d sign in the $10M-$13M range, then perhaps it’s the Bills who aren’t being fair.

I think in general there’s so much pressure on GMs to take the hyped up QB. If they don’t and the player they picked bombs while the other excels, it’s a guaranteed dismissal and a struggle to hold another GM role provided what happened before. I actually can’t remember the last “slam dunk” QB prospect who was passed up for another. I do remember another position back in the day went unexpectedly. I would’ve bet a nice chunk of change the Colts were taking Ricky Williams if he fell to them and they surprised everyone by taking Edgerrin James. Still remember my mouth hanging open, thinking it was the dumbest mistake.

So it should be clear we won’t get there rushing 4

Rousseau had that one game against the Cardinals last year where he showed out, but that’s the first and only time I remember him dominating. Oliver has had about 3 of those games. The Jets, Cowboys, and Lions. Maybe I’m missing one or two others. -
You noticed him jogging on the TD too? He knew he wouldn’t get there in time so he didn’t bother but I’m more curious about his assignment on the play. I picture Micah Hyde recognizing the 1 v 1 on his side of the field and sprinting over to double that WR. Here, Hamlin just defends grass. He's often a day late and a step short.

Hawkeye technology is worthless when you still have to depend on the official’s spot. -

Landon Jackson looks like Temu Ryan Denney. On the other hand, VERY impressed with the 2 young DTs. If we hit on 2/3 of them that would be great. -
Loop is the Ravens new kicker (6th rd pick) and Trujillo is in Indianapolis battling it out with their other kicker. And yeah, all 3 have hit 60+ yard FGs in a game.
