  1. Which is why having Bernard and Benford would’ve added little to the overall picture. The healthy DL was dominated. We weren’t getting a player back that pressures Mahomes consistently enough to force him into mistakes. They couldn’t stop the run, they couldn’t rush the passer. It was a bad night for that unit.
  2. Did McD confirm a fake punt was the plan? Romo was talking like the players make the call based on a certain advantageous look, like a punter throwing to a wide open gunner. He said the Chiefs had 6 rushing to our 8 blocking but that Tranquil beat two blocks to make the play. Romo said it was the right call given the look.
  3. The KC offense played uncharacteristically well tonight. I don’t think a single receiver had a drop. MVS pulled in some great passes, especially the one against Taron up the sideline. The most penalized tackle in the league, Juwaan Taylor, didn’t have a single penalty all night. No false starts, holding, illegally downfield, nothing. And Mahomes made the Bills pay almost every time by finding the open player. That middling offense which was the worst in Mahomes tenure, looked anything but middling. They looked like a well coached machine. Part of that was due to our injuries, the other part was just rising to the occasion and refusing to be stopped all night, aside from the one punt. They had another gear our defense couldn’t match and I’m not sure they would’ve matched it with a healthy Benford and Bernard.
  4. I feel like kickers either have it, or they don’t. A miss like that can linger in Bass’s mind. His first year was concerning after beating out Hauschka because he had the yips early, couldn’t make anything after a stellar preseason. He was able to get right in that Jets game where he made 7/10 or whatever it was, but I can’t fully trust him from this point on. I think he knows the team likely feels the same.
  5. How does Rousseau compare to Phil Hansen? I wasn’t around to watch Bruce’s running mate. Rousseau needs a Bruce Smith on the other side of him. A Myles Garrett or even a smallish Dwight Freeney type of player, but someone who can close the deal quickly.
  6. Does anyone have the play where Sherfield dropped the long pass? I saw over and over in the GDT that Diggs was wide open. I want to see what it looked like.
  7. I was shocked to see that Klein was the dime backer and Dodson came off the field, this was after the unathletic Klein turned his ankle. Just piss poor personnel management. I would’ve rather had the team go with Elam and Dorian in place of Klein and Douglas. Two healthy players that can run. Bills defense was overmatched athletically all night.
  8. Read somewhere that Floyd has had 1 sack in the last 8 games. Is that true? The DL performance tonight was extremely surprising. I thought they’d be much more effective bottling up the run and at least getting pressure from the edges. They did almost nothing. Completely pwned.
  9. The game was over anyway if Bass made that FG. No way would the defense stop Patty from getting points the very next drive. There should’ve been a “TD or bust” mentality on that last one. Bleed the clock and go for the 4 point lead.
  10. Also surprised the penalty machine, Juwaan Taylor, doesn’t have a single one.
  11. You can keep running a hobbled Klein and Douglas out there, or you can put in the healthy Elam and Williams. Who cares if they make mistakes? We’re not stopping them anyway.
  12. You know TB43 would’ve recovered that fumble on the Chiefs drive. He’s got a knack for it. Maybe Dodson’s bum shoulder played a part in having the ball wrestled away from him.
  13. Who’s got the list for the Chiefs?
  14. Question of the day: will Josh Allen finally QB sneak to his right?
  15. Beane just needs to take a swing on an early receiver. He made the comment about not sucking bad enough for an opportunity to select a Ja’marr Chase level talent, but he’s passed on quite a few who are close to or at Chase’s level.
  16. It’s just a fun thing to say to downplay another team’s QB importance. Remember when many here said Mahomes wasn’t as great as people portray him to be because Chad Henne stepped in and led their offense on a 96 yard drive? I can’t with this place sometimes.
  17. In preseason whenever he got in he looked like a tackling machine and I wondered why he never got any real consideration on defense. But I have no idea about his coverage abilities. I thought Spector looked like a tackling machine too, but he struggled to stay with the first team in camp when they were rotating LBs.
  18. He certainly has a knack of always being around the ball. He’s Mr. “Johnny on the spot.” His coverage skills and blitzing will also be missed.
  19. I’d say that Allen looked far too pedestrian against middling teams to warrant MVP consideration. To his credit, he’s raised his level of play when going against the good teams, but to call him the league’s “most valuable player” when the Bills have won multiple games in which he was off for a large portion of the contest, I don’t know.
