  1. you forgot something. we who think the team can win 7-8 games are wearing rose-colored glasses and are crazy. Those who pick the bills to win 2 games are being "realists"
  2. Welcome to june-september in north florida...blech!
  3. Not necessarily from a fantasy perspective. Fantasy Defenses/ST's are usually based on 3 things: turnovers, sacks and TD's. The Bills D tied for 11th in the league in total turnovers created, 13th in sacks. Now the Bills D only scored 2 TD's last season, but lets say that improves slightly, to 3 or 4. Add in possibly 3-5 ST TD's and you are talking 6-9 d/ST TD's on the season. Thats enough to rank our D pretty high in terms of fantasy standards. #1? probably not, but from a straight up fantasysports point of view, our D can be good.
  4. Fox again does their annual "why your team wont win the Super Bowl" and gives reasons why all 32 teams wont win the big game. All of these have some humor to them, and its a good read. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5775802...TT=HCP&GT1=8393
  5. the above poster was right. those arent the real madden 2007 ratings. they havent ben released yet. that is some guys random ratings that he made, or his updated 2006 ratings. Ign will have the ratings as soon as they are released. http://sports.ign.com
  6. 24 And next time please post a more descriptive topic title. This one probably scared meazza away.
  7. good post. altho i dont compleely agree on our wins and losses, i see 7 wins as a real possibility this season. we should sneak up on a lot of teams. I see us winning 2 NFC games, 3 division wins, and 2 conference wins.
  8. your arms tired from beating the dead draft horse yet? Its a shame, because you have a ton of knowledge to bring to the table when you arent on a draftbad rant. We lose Nate next year, Youboty steps in to start, with king and greer behind him. Whitner was drafted to start. As was simpson. Hence no need to draft safeties or CB's early on next year. I dont see why marv is automatically going to draft them next year. He's had 1 draft as a GM. Thats not enough to come to a consensus.
  9. Exactly. The whole point of drafting a secondary this year was so we wouldnt have to be hamstrung by paying Nate big bucks, and also to get it set in place for the future. In future drafts, we concentrate on other areas. Re: the bengals, there was an article i read (espn i think, the one about them cutting one of their guards) that said they were currently working on an extension for steinbach. That coupled with jones grumbling leads me to believe that jones will walk next offseason, not steinbach.
  10. theres 7 total...just change the number in the link to get the rest...i'm not sure what to think...funny, but definitely...strange...
  11. Isreal just !@#$ed up Hezbollah HQ...good stuff... http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/14/mideast/index.html
  12. "The Buffalo Bills have announced the team has signed offensive tackle Jason Peters to a contract extension." No terms disclosed. But i like this move a lot. Lock up some of our young talent. I guess the amount the contract is for will tell if buffalo has permanent plans to move him to LT.
  13. happy birthday!
  14. Tallahassee has a strange playoff system. You are put into a 6 team division, and we have a 10 game season. You play each eam once (5 games), and then they re-organize the divisionss depending on how you finished, winning moves you up, etc. Then you play the second half of the season (5 games) in your new division. For the "championship", its the first half winner of your current division vs the second half winner. So theoretically 1 team can win 2 divisions in a single season.
  15. well, technically we arent allowed beer, but with no one there to enforce it, no one cares. Our team seems to play better after a few beers anyway. most people are just there for fun, so theres no fights, altho we almost got into 1 last nite. The other team was up by about 15 or 20 or so, and we thought it was over, but according to them, we had 1 more inning. Then their dickhead coach goes..."oh, we went through the order 1 inning and batted so long, so you probably thought that was 2 innings" fuggin a-hole.
  16. i agree. i like the throwbacks a couple of imes per year. other than that i happen to like our new jerseys. The roadies are a bit iffy, but i love the home blue on blue look.
  17. we are allowed beer because it summer league, meaning its a fun league, no umps, no walks, just go up there and hit the ball. Summer league will have its share of hotties, but by far the hottest girls play in FSU intramural softball
  18. haha i know the feeling. our co-ed teams are never very good, now that 2 good girls moved out fo town. The worst is, as you say, not just losing, but being frustrated dealing with 6 errors every inning. We got our asses kicked yesterday for that reason. But i did score from 3rd holding a beer.
  19. Apparently they changed to those ugly orange jerseys to be more accomodating to their players.
  20. similar leagues in florida. our spring league runs from march - june, and the fall league runs from september - november. Our team from the spring lost in the final game of the season and blew our shot at the championship. Since you want stats, i was 23-34 in the 10 game season. Now we have the summer funleague running. No umps, no walks, just co-ed for fun. Last game tho, our pitcher racked up 6K's (K'ed the same guy 3 times) Thats unheard of in slo-pitch. Actually i hafta leave soon, we have a game tonite.
  21. I know anecdotally 2 things... 1) Eating 6 tacos from taco bell/mighty taco and playing softball immediately afterwards is a bad combo. 2) The Sonic Blue Coconut slushie turns your sh-- blue.
  22. i dont care what it is, i just want it to go away and stop interfering with my research!!!
  23. yah theres pen/strep in the media. it may be a fungus, but it sure as hell LOOKS like bacteria under the scope. The problem hasnt actually been with the culture, is been with the bioreactor system we have. The !@#$ers wont contaminate it right away either. The system is assembled and closed in the sterile hood, then transferred to the incubator. the part we cant figure out is that these bastards dont contaminate it until a week into the run.
  24. i use progressive. they are cheaper for me than the damn gecko. they were the cheapest a few years ago when i signed on with them, and my rates have been dropping little by little ever since.
