  1. Great point eball. If you look at any given draft, after the 100 or so "good" players (1st day picks), there might be a group of 200-300 other players that are all about even in terms of talent. So there will be that many "2nd day" rated players, but only 150 2nd day picks. It stands to reason that a good number of these players wont get drafted, not because of talent, but because of a numbers game.
  2. but thats just it...we're not saving the life of a blastopshere at all, we're just saying you arent allowed to isolate stem cells before we destroy the blastosphere.
  3. No i didnt think you implied it. just clarifying the situation. No harm. When eventually i get a house and a dog of my own, it'll be the same deal. i get so frustrated over people with dogs that do what they please, come when they want to, and take off throughout the neighborhood when they are off a leash. Our dog has broken off her leash a couple of times, and the farthest she has gone was the neighbors yard to play with their dog. The other times we found her sleeping in her house, and sitting on the front stoop waiting for us.
  4. Well, i dont mean we beat our dog, because we dont. But he wasnt happy when he smacked her, and she half slid/half ran across the garage. But shes trained very wel, and we have had no problems. She'll sit and wait for us to tell her its ok to eat her food. She'll sit and stay until we tell her to chase her ball (if you chose to do so). We drop food on the floor, she'll look, but wont even sniff it. She knows better. Once there is a clear understanding between you and your dog that you are the boss, everything is fine. The funny thing i see here in north florida, is that families with pitbulls and rotts that behave poorly often have children that behave the exact same way. Think it might be the parents?
  5. but it was. and frankly, i am not stupid enough to put ***HOT*** coffee in between my legs. She was, and thats her fault. The jury should have given her the settlement of 1 solid whack upside the head with a hard blunt object for being a moron. <Sigh> If only we could punish stupidity.
  6. Exactly right. Some breeds may have a general tendency to be mroe agressive, but dogs are the way they are based on how they are raised and disciplined. Our dog at home decided one time she was going nip at my dad when she was young. He backhanded her across the garage. She hasnt so much as looked at anyone the wrong way since. Teach the dog that you are in charge and you wont take sh-- from them, and they'll obey. and you wont run into these problems.
  7. The best part about the veto? The fact that he didnt want stem cells being harvested from embryos THAT ARE GOING TO BE DESTROYED ANYWAY. Thats roughly equivalent to telling someone they cant take car parts off a car going to the junkyard, and insisting that the entire car get crushed instead. Meanwhile, some european and asian countries continue to make great strides in the field of embryonic stem cell research while we wallow in our own sh-- over here. Any chance that this Bill resurfaces after the elections?
  8. what does he still think HE's coaching the national team?
  9. Please no! the last thing we need is another 50 page thread on how and where sue can find a place that sells life preservers.
  10. still trying to figure out who crayonz is? Even in exile, he still gets the best of you.
  11. well, i hope regier and schoop and bulldog have large families that are going to buy a lot of jerseys, because every other sabre fan isnt spending a penny on the "snot-rocket to the middle of the jersey" logo design.
  12. long term deals DO benefit the players tho. Lets look at 2 contracts with an average salary of 4 million per season (after SB). 3 yrs 16 mil, probably a 4 mil SB, then salaries of 3, 4, 5 mil. The player gets 4 million before they play a down, 7 mil after 1 season, and 11 mil after 2 seasons. 7 yrs 40 mil, with a 12 mil SB, and salaries of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 mil. The player gets 12 mil before they play, 13 after 1 year, and 15 after 2 years. The player is making more money with the longer contract, and also, if they start playing poorly, its much easier to cut a player on a short contract than a long one. If the player sucks after 2 years, his cap number would be roughly 6.33 mil in the short term deal, but only 3.4 mil in the long term. thus the team is more likely to keep the player on another year or 2 in hopes they improve. Also, a bigger SB means the team might not be able to afford such a big cap hit of cutting a player on a long term deal. In the above cases, cutting the player after year 2 costs the team 1.33 mil dead cap on the short contract, while it costs the team roughly 9.2 mildead cap on the long term deal. another reason for the team to keep the player and pay him his 3 mil salary.
  13. at least the cat showed good judgement of nfl players.
  14. i liked the hilight of the little dump to willis where he juked a guy and gained 5 more yards. In typical meathead fashion, he saw a play that worked, and tossed it from the playbook for the remainder of the season.
  15. Lemme guess, you had to walk uphill both ways in 5 feet of snow just to get to the rockpile to see a game? Just because a team has had a sub-par history by no means they will continue that way. The right people can bring a team out of its funk, ala dungy in tampa, lewis in cincy, etc.
  16. i think the bills should bring up fraud charges against gary anderson. in the end, he got his tho, by missing the kick against atlanta. karma is a B word.
  17. 2 points...its tough to get to the 3rd tier of the defense when you need to break 7 tackles to do so, and 2) willis would have been more elusive last season, except mularkey told him to basically run into our o-line if there wasnt a hole, instead of letting him bounce it outside (a strength of willis as seen in 2004)
  18. they also completely re-vamped superstar mode. Now, whatever position you play, thats the only position you play and you take that point of view. If you aew a WR, then you run the routes and hope the QB throws to you etc. If you are a DB, you can follow the play call and cover, or blitz when you want, etc.
  19. what i'd really liek to see is the bills give out his SB as a one time roster bonus right now. then we could take the entire cap hit for the bonus this year when we have the room, and not have to worry about ANY dead cap down the road.
  20. i was gonna say the same. mars was that close LAST year.
  21. ok, i wont call your 6-10 prediction whining if you dont call my 7-9 prediction a polyanna 1) Marv cannot walk on water. but i am willing to give him a season or 2 before i string up the noose. the moves he made were with a plan in mind. 2) 7-9, 8-8 if the team really starts to play good. 3) ralph is a good owner. he's not God, he's not the greatest owner, but hes better than some palsy's that are running nfl teams 4) miller is a good going on great goaltender. he has trouble stopping point shots after they have been deflected 1 or 2 times. notice that point shot deflections were the only way he was scored on in the playoffs? thats a testament to how GOOD he is, not ow BAD he is.
  22. gotta be ieatcrayonz
  23. great logic there. i think the bills will do decent this season, so now thats an "inner nancy" if you think the bills will go 0-16 and have a reasonable explanation, fine, but thats obviously proven to be too much thought and effort for you. its much easier to be a whiny little B word and go... waaah the bills suck! waaah jp sucks! waaah willis didnt show for camp! waaah the sabres suck! waaah ryan miller sucks!
  24. a lot fo team are also flipping their d-line guys and having their #1 guy rush from all over the place. So a lot of times your RT is going to be facing the #1 rusher a good portion of the game. So i agree, the LT should be more athletic, but the importance of a good RT is almost to that of a good LT.
  25. if TSW had a nickel for everytime you bitched about something, the entire board could retire and have enough leftover to buy our own island in the carribean to watch the bills from.
