How is muscle strength and conditioning going to affect tendon strength? Poor conditioning will show in players getting muscle pulls, strains, etc. You can say that the easy training camp (never mind that most training camps around the NFL are run like this) may leave a team unprepared, but to attribute it to the Bills type of injuries? Laughable. How would a stronger training camp prevent Youboty from getting PF?

Big Cat - what part of Jauron's history makes you think's he more of the 13 win coach than the 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 7 win coach in his other seasons? Also, please refer to this post i made yesterday, doing some basic math on Jauron's coaching history. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?s=&am...t&p=1220021 To take my point even further, lets toss out that 13 win season and see what happens... Dick Jauron's average win per season? 6 Standard Deviation? 1.26 Turns out that the 13 win season extremely skews the data set in DJ's favor. Now we're talking about 95% of Jauron's seasons resulting in 3.5-8.5 wins. That isnt going to make the playoffs. Also notice that when compared to his 6 other seasons, a 13 win season is over 5 standard deviations away from his average. Those types of measurements simply do not occur. The mathematical probability of that is highly unlikely, nearing impossibility. So again, why do you feel so strongly that Jauron is a 13 (near impossible) win coach over a 6-7 win coach?

"Take your pick: Edwards or Losman in KC?"
Ramius replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is possible that Trent can start bad, and you pull him for a series, a quarter, even the rest of the game, and let him sit back for a bit to refresh himself and his mind. That doesn't mean that JP is the starter, it doesn't mean that JP should start against SF. All it means is that you sat your young QB down on the bench and let your vet backup take some snaps so the young guy can get his head back on straight. -
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/20/sports/n...amp;oref=slogin With all the crap and bad news you hear in college football and at FSU, its about time we recognize a good one. FSU SS Myron Rolle is not only a potential 1st round pick, but also a finalist to be a Rhodes Scholar. He's missing this weekend's game against Maryland to go to the interview/selection. In a world of dumbass athletes with 10 cent heads, its nice to see there are some real good ones out there, and they deserve to be more in the spotlight than the likes of the "ocho stinko" and pac man. Tim Logan, the prof mentioned in the article, is my PhD advisor down here. Good guy. I was actually supposed to do some work with Myron this past summer, but his project didn't get to that point.

Never underestimate the ability of people to get grants for stupid research. Recently, i've come across these 2 papers: "Higher passage adult stem cells do not differentiate as well as lower passage cells." - To put it simply, passage # = age of cells. When you get donor cells they are p0. I've been working here for 3 years now and the first thing i was told was that cells that are passage 7 or higher aren't as reliable and do not grow well as lower passage cells) This one was published in 2008. But my favorite paper ever published (in 2006) that i have seen was this: "Deprivation of essential nutrients and oxygen leads to cell death in culture" - This one makes me wonder if some retard just figured out in 2006 that if you starve and choke your cells in culture they die. He was probably wondering why none of his experiments were working.

The 13-3 season is what those of that work with numbers refer to as an outlier. Sure, with only a few seasons, you cannot toss out a 13-3 season. But when the seasons pile on, and you consistently see win numbers between 5-8, you begin to realize that the 13 is nothing more than a bad measurement, a statistical outlier, and has no real relevance to judging jauron's ability to win. Statistically speaking, given Jauron's coaching record (and i eliminated the 5 game interim in detroit and did not count this season), Dick Jauron averages 7 wins per season, with a standard deviation of 2.88 wins. That means that his 13 win season is 2 standard deviations away from the average. Mathematically speaking, Dick Jauron's 13 win season represents a data point that represents less than 5% of the population (in this case, the number of Jauron's wins in any given season he will coach)

I know nothing about women
Ramius replied to Southern McButterpants.'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
I've been in your shoes man, and its a B word. But don't let her walk all over you. You don't have to be an ass about it, but you can and need to tell her that you're not really interested in listening to her problems just so she can boost her own self-ego enough to find the next guy to !@#$. She's obviously insecure and is simply using you to prop her own self-worth up. I let a girl do the same thing to me that she's doing to you for the better part of 5-6 months back when i was in school. I got the same advice that you've been hearing here and it just took me some time to wisen up and over it. Instead of kicking yourself over her, go out and find a girl that wants to spend time with you and not just use you. If you don't mind me asking, how often do you hang out with her? And not just the times when you say hey in the hall or when she stops by to vent. Do you ever go out with her to do anything? EDIT: if you do find another girl, or tell this one you're done with her sh--, don't be surprised when she comes running back to you and all of a sudden is all over you. -

Washington, Oakland, Jacksonville...those are games in the last few years where lindell has come through for this team. In fact, just prior to this miss, ESPN showed the stat that Lindell was 12-13 on FGs to win or tie in the final 2 minutes. -

Ramius replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
jauron's style will never get you past a 1st round playoff loss. Teams win in the playoffs by playing to win, NOT by playing not to lose. Dick is an average coach who takes pride in hoping he can have a chance to win at the end of the game. That same mentality is reflected in his coaching record. jauron is going to coach a team to win 8-9 games, and hope that he gets some bounces his way and some other teams lose so we can finish 10-6 and make the playoffs. Also, dick's unwillingness to play younger guys and let them learn and grow is mortgaging the future for the sake of the present. Lots of teams can win 24 games in 3 years. The difference is that good teams will go 5-11, 8-8, then 11-5 and into the playoffs. jauron is content going 7-9, 8-8, 9-7. -
So Reed being out is the reason trent refuses to attempt any pass over 15 yards in the air?
-
There was no emotion, because to Dick Jauron, last night's game was considered a success. In his twisted mind, we only lost because we missed a FG at the end that would have won it. I have no doubt that Dick Jauron was perfectly happy with the way the game turned out. DJ doesn;t actually want to win, he just wants a "chance" to win.

Dick Jauron Needs to stop playing not to LOSE

So its Lee Evans fault that he was targeted only ONCE all game long? -
I'm not even sure we can beat KC. They've been playing better lately, and Arrowhead tends to be a house of horrors to buffalo.
-
Well, Stevie Johnson looked good last night. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more of him in the #2 spot.
-
NO! Under no circumstances do you ever settle for a 45+ yards FG attempt INTO THE WIND in NOVEMBER in BUFFALO. If you are trying to gain yards and are forced to kick the long FG, go for it. But in no way should you be content with that long of a FG in those conditions.

Obama wants a playoff system for college football.
Ramius replied to Tux of Borg's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In all seriousness, could congress legally pass legislation to force the NCAA to hold a playoff? -
Charlie Weis would be a great fit in buffalo, as soon as we can schedule Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and High school ROTC teams.

Gotcha. So Ralph took Jim Kelly in the 1st round of '83, knowingg he'd like to draft Flutie 2 years later in 1985. So, when exactly in 1985 would have ralph drafted Flutie that Polian had to override him? Flutie was an 11th round pick. And then Ralph would have started 11th round Flutie in 1986 over Jim Kelly?
-
Can someone explain to me how we were supposed to draft DL that were taken before we picked?
