  1. A retired NHL player with a history of concussions was recently asked how post concussion syndrome affected him. He replied that the effects are often not linear and that the symptoms often remain dormant until the brain is under unusual amounts of stress. After sufficent healing time, this player thought he was ok now, only to find out that once the heavy stress starts back up the post concussion symtoms start back up. Although playing quarterback is always somewhat stressfull, naturally there is a helluva lot more stress on a qb's brain when his team is in a major slump, divisional games, and especially must win games etc. I think this explains how Trent could look good against San Diego, but in the four more stressful games since then he looks progressively worse. Also, since no one wants to think they have a downright scarey life altering mental condition...its human nature to go into denial. By the same token, the other players and coaches could be in denial of Trent's condition as well.
  2. Those last three runs before the final field goal attempt were a just a bit hard to watch. Obviously Cleveland was expecting running plays therefore a perfect time for a playaction pass. I guess the playaction pass is just not trendy enough like the wildcat formation. Well at least the wildcat formation was called three times by the Bills earlier in the game. And just to rub salt in the wound, the field goal miss was from 47 yards and was wide right by about three feet. Seems familiar.
  3. 47 yard field goal attempt....wide right. Seem familiar?! It's official. THERE IS NO GOD
  4. I would LOVE to see the Bills o-line play with such intense brutality......that the Browns refuse to take the field for the second half and forfeit the game because all the Browns d-line and linebackers are traumatized. Then, to fill the rest of the scheduled broadcast time.... several weeping trembling Browns are interviewd to explain their extreme pain and anguish from the sudden emergence of the Bills o-line!
  5. I don't dispute that offensive line play is crucial to success. But I'm talking about the ROOT of the problem. I don't blame the soldiers when the vast majority of the blame rests with the commander in chief. Are you telling me that a more intelligent owner wouldn't have a more intelligent organization in place which results in better coaches, better players including the offensive line, pass rushers, etc. ?
  6. I've been a devoted Bills fan since 1985. When the Bills were at 5-1, I became enthusiastic about their playoff hopes despite a nagging feeling of deja vue. This three game losing skid has made me remember exactly what is wrong with this franchise. I think the root of the Bills problems is Ralph Wilson himself. In the Bills 48 year history they've had 14 head coaches over 16 head coaching terms, (Johnson and Saban had two terms each) for an average coaching term of 3 years. If you remove 12 years of Marv Levy from the figures as an anomaly, the average head coaching term is only 2.4 years. This reflects poorly on team ownership to say the least. The fact that a great general manager like Bill Polian, and a good gm like John Butler, and good gm material like A.J. Smith were all fired, the travesty of the Donahoe era, and that these days the team doesn't even have a gm title anymore... poor reflection on Ralph Wilson again. I billieve that the root of all the Bills problems is the irresponsibility, egomania, and meddling stupidy of Ralph Wilson. Just had to get this off my chest. Go Bills (sigh)
