  1. Agreed. Jauron didn't believe in running pass patterns where the WR could catch the ball on the run and break big chunks of YAC. It was probably too dangerous for him. Jauron's ultra conservative offense preferred the WRs to catch the ball at a dead stop.
  2. South africa becomes the first host country NOT to advance. Seems to me this is a rather fitting curse from the soccer gods for unleashing those horrifying horns on the rest of the world.
  3. Lots of good games on the list, and i'll add Red Faction Guerilla (the game play/style is similar to GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption).
  4. and Armando gallaragga didn't pitch a perfect game either.
  5. The US never had. Until yesterday.
  6. Definitely choice A. You're the only one spouting this asinine "Ralph made the pick to sell tickets" theory. No one else believes it. Its been debunked the dozen or so times you've posted it since the draft, and it will be debunked in the dozen or so times you post it again before the season starts.
  7. The Redskins simply pissed away draft picks if they don't sign him to an extension. The are making bold moves that could ultimately prove foolish if neither player signs.
  8. I didn't say anything, yet you responded? I'm sorry you are PMS-ing. I know its been a rough season with your celtics choking in game 7 and your bruins blowing a 3-0 series lead.
  9. Progression was totally re-done then. Player progression was then determined by in game production but also based on their "potential." each player carried a "potential" grade from A to F. The higher grade, the better chance of more natural progression. Progression also depended on age, so older players were going to drop more and/or faster than younger players. I actually found the system worked pretty good. You could have a young guy rated a 60 who might advance to a 65 or 66 in one season with only decent numbers. On the flip side, a guy rated 78 may stick at 78 even with good stats if the potential was low. For rookies, you did rookie scouting in-season where it would unlock some attributes and give you ranges of some others, depending on how many weeks you spent scouting (up to 6 total for any player). Potential was listed as a bar, where the higher the bar, the more potential. Potential wasn't just based on attributes and draft position. Also, there was a nice mix of low attribute guys with high potential, and high attribute rookies with low potential. Nothing was more frustrating than drafting a 1st round rookie who was a 77 overall, but had a D for potential. I found the draft much more realistic than it had been on the PS2.
  10. Haley wanted Gailey gone, That's common knowledge. Haley is an offensive minded coach who wanted to run his own system and not Gailey's. So maybe Pioli technically "fired" Gailey, it was Haley who wanted and got him gone. Its nice to see a pats* bashing thread make you defend the pats* again and show your true colors of being a bahston-loving, brady knob gobbling scumbag fan of the cheaters*.
  11. I can't really compare, because i had '09 for the PS2 and '10 was my first madden on the next-gen systems (PS3). I can give you explanations for any questions you have about franchise in '10, like scouting, the draft, free agency, progression, etc. Let me know what you didnt like about franchise in '09 and i'll tell you if they improved it in '10.
  12. people who can't type in a normal sized font
  13. Who hell fords the river? You lose all your oxen that way. The best choice is still to caulk your wagon and float it across.
  14. $20 says Algeria scores their 1st WC goal in the 1st 10 minutes against us.
  15. In the future stojan, try to stay classy and not post pics of your ex wife on the board.
  16. Ridiculous. Both the comeback, and the horrible screw-job done by the refs. Soccer single handedly might have the worst officiating of any sport. Bradley is getting butt humped in the box on a legit goal and they "miss" the foul and disallow the legit goal? !@#$ you FIFA.
  17. Wow. Who was that Donovan guy that just scored for us? I don't think i've ever seen him show up in a WC before.
  18. That's the issue. They're not any better. Every Cup, we're sold a bill of goods by soccer fans across the country, but we've come nowhere since 1990. We have 3 WC match wins since then. Thats it. 3. Good teams can win 3 matches every Cup. 2002 was our only decent year, and there's always a lower tier team that catches a break and advances farther than we should. It just happened to be us in '02.
  19. Absolutely terrible call on the yellow card. It hits his face and thats an "intentional handball?" Too bad to see Finley's World Cup is over after today. But par for the course for international soccer. No rhyme or reason, lets just issue cards randomly.
  20. So, 30 minutes in, our offensive strategy is to bomb it down field and hope we can run under one, and the defensive strategy is to simply let Slovenia do whatever the hell they want.
  21. No, NFL2k5 isn't better. Get over yourself. Don't get me wrong, i liked competition, and having a choice between games. It also drove EA to make better games. But the people who still insist 2k5 is better simply identify themselves as fanboys.
  22. Yawn. Someone should perhaps tell the US that the game has started.
  23. I got the AFL pack for free on '10, a month or 2 after it came out. (PS3) I forgot it was actually a pay add-on at first. I'm a big madden fan, but thusfar i haven't been too impressed at what i have been reading. I'm holding hope they are going to drop a bomb on us with something crazy new, like a complete re-design of franchise mode (which was rumored to be in '10, then in '11). I like the game play improvements they've added, but those were necessary adjustments, and aren't anything huge. I also check the madden blog from time to time, and they haven't had a ton of stuff either. EDIT: madden blog is now reporting no major changes to franchise this season, but that they are re-building the mode from the ground up for '12.
  24. They had the sepia toned AFL games in last year's madden.
  25. I'll second this. I watched a few games last season that i had missed while traveling, and found the picture quality to be great. It doesn't always start off good, but usually by a few minutes into the game it was HD quality. The setup doesn't allow you to watch a game while other games are in progress (like the MNF, as mentioned above), but last season i beat the system by starting the game earlier on, and then pausing and resuming during the MNF game. As long as you start it while there is no other game on, you should be able to watch at your leisure.
