  1. He's being allowed to play much closer to the line so he can get his nose in on more plays. Its no longer the idiotic strategy of running backwards on the snap that jauron employed. If you missed it, against the bengals on the 4th down, it was Whitner that made the solid stick that kept benson from getting the 1st. As for the DBs, Jeff Fisher obviously feels the same, because he drafted 4 DBs in round 1 in an 8 year span.
  2. I think they kept a lot of DBs and LBs to round out the STers. I'd bet that none of them get traded. No way Whitner gets traded. He's been far and away our best safety this preseason, and the defensive changes seem to have benefitted him greatly.
  3. Most teams are excited to get contributions from 1 of their late round picks in their rookie seasons, so asking for contributions from 5 late rounders is asinine.
  4. Vick is making 5 million this season.
  5. Nah probably just means they are covering their bases since Jackson is going to sit 10 games.
  6. He's not worth it for the money he's being paid, but your statement is so far off base its not even funny. Harper never had mroe than 46 catches, 821 yards, or 8 TDs in a season. Since he became a starter in 2004, the fewest number of catches Housh had was 73, and the least number of yards Housh had was 904. Housh was at one point a legit #1 WR.
  7. Was it ever determined that there were drugs in lynch's car? Or was its simply the "smell" of pot in there? Regardless of Lynch's issues, what bothers me more than anything is that Brandon Marshall has a history of smacking women around, and he got his suspension reduced. So beating women is ok, just don't bump them with your car?
  8. If Big Ben played for the Buccs or Rams, he'd get his suspension lengthened. Its not so much about the crime as it is the profile of the player/team.
  9. The biggest mistake the Bills made was not selecting Oher or someone else to fill in Peters shoes. However, trading a fat, cheeto-munching, lazy, mentally retarded tackle who wanted 10M per year was most definitely NOT a mistake.
  10. Someone please explain to me the difference between a 7th round pick and a UDFA. Because if Howard makes the team (and i'd bet anything he will, since he's been running with the 1's a lot), that's just as good as a 7th rounder making the team. There is very little difference between your average 5th-7th round pick and your average UDFA.
  11. Same here. Got the Spiller white throwback, fully stitched numbers and name. Its awesome. Gotta love dhgate.
  12. I figure since the Bills appear to be extremely hard up for a QB in the near future, i'll provide a Christian Ponder watch this year. I'll recap his games every week, list the good/bad things he did and just provide some general information about the kid. We start off on September 4 against Samford.
  13. Great Read! Given our current OT situation, he'd definitely be worth a flier. Taking a chance on him could provide a crucial piece to put a team well on its way. You're getting legit early round OT talent essentially for free.
  14. Ponder will go in round 1. Just because the "draftniks" aren't all over him doesn't mean that the NFL scouts aren't.
  15. Ignoring the obvious problem with the bolded part, did hurricane Katrina make the people in Seattle thirsty?
  16. And Sam Bradford is BYU's B word, so whats your point?
  17. We signed Craig Nall as a UFA, we didn't give up a 3rd rounder for him. Michael Oher was the 4th OT in round 1 last year.
  18. Watching him against the Colts, you can see flashes that show Brohm has a MUCH higher ceiling that Edwards. That doesn't mean anything as of right now, but lets hope that he hits it.
  19. +1 Great post!
  20. You should have told me you were in town dib, we could have grabbed a beer. He did pick a good school though. Our Bills backers numbers have been dwindling in the recent years, but theres still a few of us that go watch all the games. He's welcome to join us! And last time i checked, there's an airport here in tallahassee...unless i've been mysteriously flying out fo somewhere else the last 7years.
  21. Looks like the poster betting everyone Lynch would start in week 1 is gonna come out on top.
  22. You are on record as saying you see very few, if any, Bills during the year. This is evidenced by your weekly complaining of having to see Cincy/Pitt games where you live, and the Dallas game at 4. I'm deeming your observations incorrect on the fact you haven't seen Evans play a ton, and the fact that i have. Does Evans throw the ball to himself? Nope. He can't control Edwards being a candy-ass and checking down on every single pass play. I'm deeming it incorrect based on the fact that I and others have been to live games and have seen Evans (and other WRs) running free and watched Edwards completely ignore him. There are many problems on this team. Lee Evans is not one of them. Evans is a gamer who would be wildly successful in a competent offense with a good QB. Notice how the last time the Bills had a good statistical season by a QB, Evans put up 80-1000-8. Not too shabby.
  23. Easterbrook is amusing, and writes comical articles that are worth the read every tuesday. However his football analysis leaves much to be desired. Specifically, he picks and chooses among plays from the week to support some of his outlandish theories (ie-blitzing is never a good idea) and ignores any and all evidence to the contrary. He's good at what he does, but no one will ever confuse him with a sound football analyst.
  24. Got it. So you see a high salary with not so high numbers, and automatically assume that the player is loafing it and collecting a paycheck. Next time try to watch a Bills game or two before opening your mouth and making incorrect assumptions about the players and how they play.
