  1. I'm sure that's the Pegula's plan and preference. But if and when Rex's handpicked new OC flops, and his brother flops, and they win less than 5 games, they won't have a choice.
  2. Was Roman's offense complex? It looked like a college offense to me. Half-field progression reads, and all of the WRs were running streaks or curls.
  3. Agreed but it won't matter in a few weeks. Wait until Lynn's offense faceplants - which I suspect it will. You think it's ugly around OBD now, it's going to get much, much worse when everyone realizes (because it becomes obvious) that the problem was not Greg Roman. The product in the field will soon reveal all. Rex went "all in" with his guy, again, and his owners gave him the support and rope to do it. That's why Rex will be on the Fox Pregame Show in 2017, which I've been saying for awhile now.
  4. Maybe they can bring in a QB that can actually read a defense quickly. I think we need one of those. Just an idea.
  5. I'll say it again: complex systems don't work under the new CBA, unless you have a roster full of veterans who know the systems already. Rex is a dinosaur.
  6. No, it isn't, but I suspect the Cowboys have no problem attracting good coaches.
  7. Come on man. He's talking today about internal CYA politics. The quote you just referenced was about public political issues. Are you being purposely obtuse with this stuff?
  8. Because they have to give their HC the support and opportunity to do things his way. If he fails, he'll have no more excuses and he'll be gone.
  9. Because based on my own experience in an organization, it makes more sense...
  10. Because it's exactly what I said - this was Rex's decision. Rex doesn't want the DC to be fired.
  11. I just don't think that's how it happened. Again, based on my own experiences with these things, it's far more likely that Rex hated Roman and has wanted him gone for ages. The owners did their due diligence and then let the firing occur.
  12. That's my read as well. Rex wanted Roman out. Owners did their own homework to confirm what the coach was telling them and then threw their support behind him.
  13. Agreed and it's probably more complicated than that. Sometimes executives are afraid to suggest to their owners that they fire someone and eat their contract. So the owners sense this and get involved directly. When that happens they're doing their executive a favor. I've been involved in that sort of situation. It's quite possible Rex wanted Roman gone but was more comfortable with the Pegulas coming to that conclusion themselves, as well. I have a hard time believing that if Rex wanted Roman to stay, the Pegulas would've forced the move anyhow. I respectfully disagree. They may have been doing Rex a favor.
  14. If you trust your GM, you have him drill down on these things instead of doing it yourselves.
  15. It is not a sign of dysfunction although NFL traditionalists won't like it. When owners start meeting with non-executive employees it can be a good way to find out whether the information the executives have been giving the owners is accurate. It's a sign that the Pegulas are desperate to get this thing fixed. It does NOT mean they're Dan Snyder, who never supported his coaches and played favorites with his players.
  16. Great 3-4 end. Did all of the dirty work so that other guys could make plays.
  17. I don't have an issue with this folks. So we have active owners who want to drill down on the issues with the team? They've always been supportive of their players and coaches - some would say too supportive. If this bodes poorly for anyone, it's Whaley, not Rex...
