  1. Watching him again today - crap. He may be really good. His instincts are better than I thought.
  2. What is going on with the pregame thread…
  3. I think you’re thinking of … nobody.
  4. Oddly though he was - IIRC - absolutely ELITE at that in college.
  5. Both of our young coordinators got schooled - and not just on Sunday night, but on the days leading up to it.
  6. Benford hit his head hard in the Baltimore game and does not appear to be the same player since….
  7. What? Theyre near the top of the league in cash spending for players.
  8. I don't think that's fair. Another way to look at it is - what they've tried the past 4-5 years hasn't ultimately worked, so why not try something else? It's not like they're bringing back Super Bowl winners here. These are guys who have PROVEN they can't get it done.
  9. It's not arrogance it's fear. They are risk-hedging - it seems to be the hallmark of this regime. We'll blitz - but we need to play our corners back to prevent a big play. We'll sign players in free agency, but we need them to be super high-character and understand our system. We'll be aggressive in going after skill positions - but only if we have enough cap and draft capital left after making sure our roster is incredibly deep. Etc. etc. These guys are cowards.
  10. They are in a spot now with Strong’s potentially serious neck issue and Hairston still being mothballed (almost zero contributions from their first three pics - oof). I don’t know how they watch the tape of Tre and continue to let him play, at this point, but they don’t have any great options behind him. Dane Jackson looked terrible in the preseason. Ingram can’t play.
  11. The Chiefs are 2-3. The Lions will be down two starting corners and their LT next week - they are vulnerable at least. Other than that, the Bills and Commanders are their only difficult non-divisional games that I see.
  12. Is the light ever going on for Trevor? Good lord I can’t imagine paying him $250M. What a loser.
  13. This is a real downside of the “everybody eats” approach. Hard to get everyone in total sync with Josh on the scramble drills and choice routes when you have different personnel cycling in and out on a play to play and game to game basis. As opposed to one or two guys you can always rely on in clutch moments to be on the same page as your QB. Yes one downside to that is that a good defense/coach can take them away and then you’re out of your comfort zone. And another downside is that those guys want to be paid more for their high target shares and can become super disruptive about that (and I don’t totally agree with you - I do think Diggs was in Josh’s head last night). We are seeing on both sides of the ball the consequence of rotating in so many different players on the d line and skill positions. You lower your margin for error when you do that.
  14. My thoughts: 1. The two young coordinators let the team down last night. McD confirmed (angrily) that the first fumble legitimately was supposed to be a handoff to Knox - it wasn’t clear to me at the time but they actually did call that play. Terrible. And Babich is constantly being out-maneuvered by opposing OCs, it has happened in nearly every game this season. 2. Diggs is still living rent-free in Josh’s head. Zero coincidence to me that Josh reverted to hero ball during a prime time game where Diggs was balling out on the other sideline. 3. Hilarious to me that McD is on the Competition Committee - that’s two weeks in a row where he’s been totally vexed and infuriated with the officiating. Last week he didn’t think they were honoring substitution rules, this week they only called penalties on the Bills in the first half then let Gonzalez get away with a blatant PI to basically kill the final drive. If anything the refs seem to be biased against McD and it used to be the thinking that getting onto the CC would at least help ensure a neutrally called game.
  15. Team has not looked Super Bowl caliber except for one quarter of five games.
  16. The entire offensive structure is designed to protect the defense from having to be on the field. The entire draft and free agent approach is designed to protect the defense. It has to stop.
  17. Why didn’t they just IR Oliver?
  18. This is not your Boomers Facebook group bro…
  19. This is exactly how I see it. The Pats see this as a prime time statement game coming out party. They will be energized and physical. Vrabel will sprinkle in a fake punt or field goal or something like that to try and take advantage of a sleepy and reactive Bills team. Game could easily come down to a last-second field goal/attempt.
  20. Oh look at you looking at me…
  21. Agreed this is a pure LAMP without any actual breakdowns or links.
  22. Name just rolls off the tongue.
