  1. I fear the FO shares your passivity. It was there for the taking this year - you make your own luck. They had everything perfectly set up and just a bit more proactive foresight would’ve increased their margin for error and would’ve left them less exposed in this situation.
  2. Yes Pete, we’re all just keeping it from you.
  3. He has been careless with the football for most of his career. Probably shows up in practice too. Maybe he has small hands.
  4. Agreed. Tre out = curtains. Injuries happen. The frustrating part is that corner and guard depth were obvious problem areas during OTAs and the Bills talked themselves out of doing anything to address it.
  5. He has been wrecking offenses by himself. The Colts used his aggressiveness against him so he’ll have to figure that out but he’s been a revelation the last month or so.
  6. Edwards in particular was dominant. wait…
  7. Oliver Morse Ford for toughing it out Diggs/Allen/Knox Motor
  8. Coach finally exacting some consequences.
  9. Basically the one guy they couldn’t afford to lose on defense. Brutal.
  10. Lol “thinks for himself.” He called out the wrong reporter for spreading “disinformation” about him. Making dumb and incorrect decisions in the face of empirical evidence does not warrant praise although in today’s society it appears to be a badge of honor.
  11. As good or bad as it goes today, remember this: The New York Jets traded a 5th round pick for COVID. God bless the New York Jets.
  12. As my boss likes to say: when people tell you who they are, believe them. Rodgers has spun out completely this season, and has announced to everyone exactly what he is: a major douche.
  13. He can thank Moss for that as well - Moss looks absolutely awful this season.
  14. Can’t evaluate picks in a vacuum, you’ve got to look at the opportunity costs involved. What they passed on to take the player, resource allocation in using the pick vs. trading it away or trading up or down etc.
  15. Two points on the “business-related” perspective: 1. The Bills may be dealing with the same “labor shortage” that many businesses in the US are facing. Not a shortage of employees like at Old Navy or Tim Horton’s, but a systemic difficulty motivating employees to push harder. There seem to be multiple players, and perhaps coaches and scouts and trainers etc., who for whatever reason are struggling to stay focused and motivated during COVID. Anyone who is management-side right now can relate: I work in a business where working harder directly leads to higher comp and we’re still having trouble motivating some folks to amp up their sorry efforts. I wonder if the Bills are seeing the same thing. 2. While I’m not sure a consultant is the way to go, self-scouting seems to be an issue right now. There appears to be a significant problem of confirmation bias - whatever self-analysis they’ve been doing in the offseason and during the season has led them to largely conclude that their own players and systems are the best options. As I said elsewhere it might be a bit of a problem that the coach and GM are so much on the same page - you don’t want them at odds, obviously, but this may be a situation of too much mutual trust and not enough pushing each other - Beane largely ignored the roster holes exposed last year and instead “ran it back” and trusted his coaches to make necessary adjustments to get the team to the next level, and the coaches don’t seem to have pushed for any significant changes in personnel or scheme. They have overrated themselves and as a result they are now overrated.
  16. I’ll say one thing - I don’t trust Beane to pick the consultant!
  17. It was a hard count with the play clock down close to zero. Too much chaos in a critical situation - coaches should be keeping things simple there. Greg Roman got fired midseason for similar antics.
  18. The Bills lead the league in penalties per game. Plays are coming in late on offense and it's causing problems lining up and getting the snap off - see yesterday's false start where both Ford and Williams moved early because the clock was down to zero. The weekly game plans reveal a staggering lack of respect for the opponent - they're trying to just do what they want without studying/accounting for the other teams' tendencies. Allen has already given up on his line and is pressing every game. There have been few consequences to negative plays like penalties and fumbles. A decision was made to bring back the team's own free agents and continue to overpay veterans like Addison in an effort to show investment in the "process." This is a talented team with an easy schedule in desperate need of detail-oriented coaching and it's obviously missing right now. This year - granted we're only halfway through - has been a really, really bad look for McD.
  19. We are witnessing a full organizational failure this season from ownership on down. The entire organization seems to be on cruise control, happy to “run it back” from last year and stupidly thinking they could show up and just dominate a softer schedule instead of actually addressing the weaknesses that were exposed last year. The coaches are not doing what is needed to get the players focused in what has become a 17-game slog through the bizarre COVID era. The weekly game plans do not reflect much respect for their opponents and they seem to just expect their talent and Josh’s arm to bail them out every week. Ownership clearly has not taken strong steps to raise expectations - McBeane got their raises over the last year and this entire franchise seems content to sell hope and merchandise without too much pounding the table for a Lombardi. Yesterday’s game looked like the Rex-era Bills, they were on autopilot, but instead of a sideline full of overpaid coaches you’ve got a sideline full of overpaid veteran “leaders” like Addison and Hughes who have done absolutely nothing to help the team win games on or off the field this season. They have squandered a golden opportunity.
  20. Sounds like General MacArthur during the Korean War. Didn’t go well. (The Patriots are China.)
