  1. When they sign Gronk and he apologizes (again) in his opening PC and talks about bringing a championship to his hometown and he and Tre do some co-branding promos together - are you guys still gonna come here and salt?
  2. I’ve seen a lot of bad takes here over the years (and your takes are usually good ones), but this might be the worst TSW take of All Time. Not wanting to overpay for an injury-prone vet I get, and maybe folks just don’t like Gronk and yes he’s a douche. But THIS - holy hell. Pin this one to the Wall of Shame. Stacking your roster with talent to win championships “feels cheap” to you? Incredible.
  3. Tannehill makes what, $30m/year? $50m for Rodgers sounds reasonable.
  4. I would like to formally nominate this thread for the “Weekly TSW Edmunds Thread.” Do I have a second? All in favor?
  5. I think you’ve expressed yourself. Like 10,000 times over the past several years. We get it. Please.
  6. Expensive list right there.
  7. Maybe the worst contract in franchise history, definitely the worst in Beane’s tenure. And that’s saying something considering he paid several million dollars for two weeks of Corey Coleman.
  8. For a hybrid slot receiver who can run plays out of the backfield a la Deebo, that's a bargain. I'd do this in a heartbeat. You're using him less than Carolina was, but maximizing his touches.
  9. Well I can guarantee Edmunds didn’t see this coming! <ducks>
  10. Sounds like he’ll be named our assistant QB coach in late August.
  11. Cody Ford’s suckitude continues to be the unseen domino from which all kinds of personnel decisions - good and bad - emanate. 2021: “Well at the very least he can hold down the backup swing tackle/guard role, right?” 2022: Nope. Time to go shopping!
  12. I really don't think he was just talking about the o-line. It's a holistic approach to better-protecting Beane's bosses' quarter-billion dollar investment which frankly is long overdue. I think this has been an issue for awhile - and I think it's the real area where McD became frustrated with Daboll, there were too many games where the gameplan featured slamming 17 into the defense over and over again, which feeds JA's competitive desires but is a recipe for disaster. They need a better interior line, a more coherent complimentary running game, a strategic approach to keeping JA healthy on offense, and short pass YAC artists who can minimize the need for JA to sit back there waiting to get blasted.
  13. Right but I was responding to someone questioning whether the Bengals’ pro personnel dept out-hustled the Bills’ the last two offseasons. They clearly did. The two teams pursued roughly the same strategy of signing mid-tier FAs at many of the same positions (d line and CB), and most of the Bills’ haul from 2020 is washing out of the league while the Bengals just played the coveted last game of the season. Meanwhile the Bengals’ pro personnel dept doesn’t have Albert Breer writing monthly articles about how stacked they are with future GMs; it’s like two guys staying at Motel 6s with notepads. Have been EXTREMELY underwhelmed by Beane’s free agent evaluations, they borderline suck.
  14. Cowboys were the number one DVOA team heading into the playoffs.
  15. No, it was not a sign of strong roster building when they signed Mario Addison, EJ Gaines, Vernon Butler, Quinton Jefferson, Josh Norman, Taiwan Jones and Quinton Spain, plus Darryl Williams, for their 2020 free agency “haul.” It just was not.
  16. According to PFT that already might be his defense - and I wish him luck with it. If he sticks with it, the “I was just kidding when I tried to bribe you to violate anti-gambling laws” defense is likely to result in jail time for Ross.
  17. Can you name a single high-impact free agent the Bills added during the last two offseasons? Maybe Darryl Williams?
  18. All true - but when the refs are (not) calling the game a specific way for 56 minutes, it's fair for the players to start to think they can play a certain way without ramification... hold was unnecessary but it was a very unfair call at that point in that game given how they'd been letting them play all night.
  19. The first couple scripted drives were good, and then the last seven minutes or so when everyone was squeezing every last ounce of effort out in order to win - but in between it was a snore-fest.
  20. But he makes up for it in sample girth!
  21. It would’ve been a good game for a week 6 Sunday night football or a week 16 flex - but as Super Bowls go it was pretty weak, neither team was very good compared to the teams that were sitting at home - Bucs, Cowboys, Bills, Chiefs, even the Titans and Ravens are probably better than either team that played last night.
