  1. I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm simply saying this rampant "he can make money" like it's a thing he'll definitively do - his words and actions (not doing it while the market dries up) speaks otherwise.
  2. Funny thing is - I actually cut some of it out in transcription 😆
  3. One thing I keep seeing over and over is fans saying that Brandon Beane can "easily" create more cap space without detriment. Every time someone becomes available - it's the same thing. But I think you all should listen to Brandon's words. Just because you feel he "can" doesn't mean he will or he wants to. Below, you'll find his latest press conference. From 37:15 - 38:47 he discusses this thought process. I've also transcribed it if you can't watch the video atm:
  4. I really think you're confusing "thousands" for like one or two people...
  5. He's not the only one who will be vetting him. If he checks out okay, no way he makes it to the 30. If he doesn't and falls ALL the way to 30 - that means he's untouchable to The Process. Just not gonna happen any way you slice it. This is not the regime to take a chance a guy with issues.
  6. If character concerns have him dropping that badly - then he'll drop past us as well. If almost every team in the league isn't interested bc of his character - you better believe Beane and McDermott won't be as well.
  7. If we would have done more (/had more money to spend) in Free Agency - I probably wouldn't be opposed. But since we were basically only able to bring back our own - that 30th pick is necessary. Also, from the other team's perspective - unless they are in the Super Bowl - they'd end up giving up more than a 30th the following year. And if it's a Houston Texans situation - they'd be giving up a *lot* more. Don't think many teams would be interested in that trade.
  8. Either way - it's about playing time and opportunities. And there's no arguing with the type of WR core we already have that he'd get anywhere close to the amount of balls here that he would get almost anywhere else if everyone stayed healthy.
  9. There was some speculation that he might be released if he didn't restructure because the option was quite pricey. Tho he didn't re-structure - they bit the bullet and picked up the option to retain him. He's not going anywhere. https://broncoswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/21/denver-broncos-von-miller-was-a-high-priority-for-george-paton/
  10. It doesn't really matter what you, me, or anyone thinks. What matters is how Beane thinks and operates. And he pretty much said yesterday he's done all the re-structures he was interested in doing with Mitch Morse, Vernon Butler, Mario Addison, and Tyler Matakevitch (on top of the releases of John Brown and Quinton Jefferson and the trade of Lee Smith). He has already done a bunch. Could he possibly do more? Yes. But maybe the player isn't interested. Maybe it's not as simple to kick certain ones down the road with his plan for future seasons. If his words aren't enough, his not doing more while the market is dwindling should tell you all you need to know.
  11. He does. But the only way it made any sense he was coming here to be the 5th WR was if he had absolutely no market. It appears he does.
  12. Somebody check on the "we're trading for Mack/Fuller!" crowd. Hope they're okay.
  13. He should send a fruit basket to Bill Belichick and Nelson Agholar 😆
  14. Not sure. And I'm not saying we should have paid them given our cap situation. But Philip Lindsey and David Johnson are head and shoulders above anyone we have IMO.
  15. Wow. They have 2-3 guys that would be an upgrade over everyone we have 😟
  16. Good point. I don't know. That could change things.
  17. Right. I mean, I could be wrong and they move Gilliam to the bench after picking someone else up. But I got the feeling McDermott really liked him and what he provided in the blocking game as well as Special Teams. As evidenced by him always dressing over Kroft last season.
  18. The only issue I have with this is McDermott ran almost exclusively with one pass catching TE and two blocking TE's on gameday. It was almost always Knox, Smith, and Gilliam with Kroft on the bench. So if we signed Hollister to replace Smith - he's probably still rolling with Gilliam and Knox. You're not going to replace Kroft's place on the bench with Zach Ertz.
  19. I had the same feeling and reached out to him. Seeing his response, I wish it would have been shared on Twitter as much as Albright's tweets were.
  20. I mean, I understand the Sammy hate from Bills fans. But this isn't even a question. Age aside, Sammy was playing a couple months ago. C.J. Spiller hasn't been in the NFL in 4 years. If the question were Sammy at 28 or C.J at 28 - that would be a different story.
  21. I was one of the few that were Team Barkley in the 2013 Draft where we took EJ Manuel. Was a big fan of him in college and liked having him as our backup. You could tell he brought a lot to the locker room and especially Josh. Will always be a fan and will never forget him spinning around his coat during 'Renegade' in Pittsburgh. Thanks for everything, Matt. God speed!
  22. I mean, I wouldn't be opposed. But we already have Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, and Gabriel Davis. Unless he's signing for minimum and okay with being the new Isaiah McKenize - this makes little sense.
  23. Considering Beane said today that he feels really good about Levi Wallace competing with Dane Jackson for the #2 CB spot and that we don't have much cap space - I see about a 2% chance they back the brinks truck up for a player of that quality. Gonna be a bidding war.
  24. I wonder if he'll be driving his Grandmother's 1997 Toyota Camry with 170,000 miles on it to Orchard Park 😆
