  1. Marv said he would not use the Franchise tag on Nate again. To my knowledge, nothing was said about the Transition tag.
  2. While I agree that Steinbach would be terrific in Buffalo, so would Diehlman. He's a little better of a run blocker, plays the right side and would help Pennington improve at RT. I could live with signing Diehlman and resigning Gandy to play LG. Then draft a future LG in round 2 or 3. Also Diehlman would be less expensive than Steinbach.
  3. LMFAO...ROTF...I'm not this lucky!! I'm really not!! Now, how about if he retains Meathead as OC??? Oh my friggin god!!! Mike Shula matching wits with Belichek and Mangini and dealing with the class & professionalism of Jauron. Gotta love it!!
  4. True, but after the bye, the Bills assigned Nate to the opponents best WR, in man coverage. He was able to play tight (no more zone) the maority of the plays. It was part of the reason for our defensive improvement. Also, McGee, played much better after the bye. He too was allowed to play tighter. Our CBs were a bit confused by the zone and our coaches, to their credit, tweaked the system to take better advantage of the CBs individual talents.
  5. True, but Urlacher, Lewis and Vilma were all 1st rounders, picked in the early teens I believe. So, it wouldn't be out of line with those picks to go MLB in the first.
  6. Bruce Smith and Bryce Paup
  7. I don't think there is a better CB than Willis is a LB. I honestly believe that Patrick Willis will end up going to multiple pro bowls as a MLB. He will be that good. No CB will do that in this draft.
  8. He's a LB. Maybe the best LB prospect since Ray Lewis (since Urlacher was a S). Just watch the video.
  9. Yep, I think we'll get our DT and OG in free agency. Even if we lose Nate, a 2nd round CB or lesser free agent is preferable to using the 1st rounder on a CB. Thus, I think our first round pick should be Patrick Willis. This guy is a super talent at LB and could be a pro bowler for many years. He is that good. He is a high character guy, overcame a lot as a kid, loves to play and has off-the-charts athleticism and size (6'2", 240, 4.5ish 40). Some articles... 10. It won't be a G (12 is a bit high for a G). Depending on Clements, I forsee CB or LB. DT and OG will be filled with free agents.
  11. I agree, as long as we can find a good MLB in free agency. Terdell Sands is a good run stuffer available through FA. Ian Scott will be a FA. Point is it may be easier to find a DT in free agency and take Patrick Willis or Paul Poz in the draft.
  12. Nice analysis. There are two things they could have done to give themselves a better chance... Offensivly, as you said, commit early and often to the run game (think Buff @ Indy). Run 2 TE sets if you have to, but commit to it. That keeps the ball out of UF's hands longer and will eventually slow and wear down UF's DL. It also sets up the play action which could have been effective. Finally, a few screens to slow down the pass rush of UF would have worked on 2nd and 3rd downs. Defensively, as you said OSU is fugged. No argument there. But, they could have mixed it up a bit more. They chose a slow death, using the LBs in coverage. A man under/ deep zone over, with the LBs on an all out blitz (think Jerry Gray style) would have accomplished one of two things....OSU gets slaughtered quickly OR Leak gets rattled by the pressure, makes a few dumb reads, leading to a pick or two (due to man by the CBs), maybe a fumble and OSU's offense is back in business pounding away. I saw very little blitzing. Probably, a little bit of both would have happened, when they mixed it up. I think it would have kept the game from getting out of hand as quickly as it did, however.
  13. Of course, by throwing oodles of money at the problem we came up with the atom bomb in under 5 years and sent men to the moon in under ten. Perhaps, throwing oodles of money at a problem to get it solved isn't so bad?
  14. How the hell does Art Modell always end up on this list? He screwed the fans of Cleveland, a great franchise, by acting like a spoiled little child when he didn't get his stadium now...now...now!

  16. Perhaps in an overall sense. And I agree that coaching and complacency were factors. But OSU's offense, especially without Ginn, couldn't match Florida's defensive team speed at all. On the other side, Florida's offense, especially the WR screen, was extremely effective at getting the WRs, who are shifty playmaker types not necessarily burners, in space to make plays against an overmatched OSU D. The OSU D could have benefitted from better coaching. On offense, they were outclassed.
  17. Apparently I'm not the only one who saw a bit of a different game from a speed perspective... Speed Kills OSU is a very good football team. But there is no way they stay on the field with UF (or LSU) from a speed perspective. I'm talking total team speed, not 40 yard dash times.
  18. Define outrun. By that I mean , when Florida built its big lead right before halftime, the WR screen was just killing OSU. The Florida WRs were getting the ball in space and the OSU defensive backfield was making the tackle 8-12 yards downfield. Also, Florida's lineman speed was amazing. OSU's OL was outclassed in every way by the Florida DL.
  19. There have been two games I watched this year where one team was so noticeably faster than the other, it was no contest. One was LSU beating ND and the other was last nite. OSU had no chance against Florida's speed. You can throw Auburn into the mix as well. I am an ACC fan, but there is no football conference like the SEC. Year in and year out it is hands down the best conference. Thats part of their problem. The SEC teams beat on each other so much, they don't receive the accolades that other teams get because the SEC teams have a loss or even two. There is no question in my mind that if a playoff tournament were played in college football the final game would be LSU vs. Florida (sorry Boise, I'd be rooting for you though).
  20. I can agree with this assessment.
  21. Click the link and then click view the pictures. Its the NY Post, so should be safe for work. Jessica Biel on the beach on vacation with Derek Jeter. Jessica Biel in pics 1 and 2, especially, looks OMFG hot!! Enjoy!
  22. I have no problems letting Kelsay and Fletcher walk. We can draft a DE in the 2nd or 3rd round and a LB in the 1st. I'd give Nate Champ Bailey money to re-sign.
  23. I forgot about him...my bad!
