  1. I actually think it is the most likely choice. While I'd love to see Willis, I think most of our areas of need will be addressed in free agency. Marv will take best available...his new Thurman, Marshawn Lynch. That is, if he falls to us.
  2. 11/12, missed the typeface question
  3. Enjoy Marshawn Lynch
  4. He also got rid of the fried bologna! Bastard!!
  5. Left Bank is a very good place for dinner in Buffalo (so is Just Pasta, BTW). The Dock is better for drinks or happy hour or just spending a summer day having beers and burgers on the back deck. For a formal dinner, its not as good.
  6. Ding, ding, ding....we have a winner!!! This is also what I heard. Shes 36, wanted a kid, Brady was dumping her...hey why not. Probably sure beats most guys for good genetics for the kid.
  7. This one... Jon Lieber's New Ride
  8. At the very least, he can help him pick up a blitz. LOok I'm not saying Kelly should be OC or HC or anything but there is nothing wrong with former all-time greats coming to help work with a guy during training camp. The Yankees have been doing it with former players for years and it works just fine.
  9. Bill- Pure speculation on my part... On RG, I think he basically threw the gauntlet down for Preston. He publicly challenged him to get better, Take a big stride, as he put it. Preston will be the starting RG this year and he will have to improve. On LG, basically, I think Gandy is gone. Also, Marv later used the example of a G when discussing free agency generally. We are going after a LG, either Steinbach or Diehlman. My guess is Diehlman as he was, I believe, a John Butler/AJ Smith pick and Marv respects their evaluation skills tremendously. On RT, I agree, no endorsement of Pennington. Although he kind of threw down the gauntlet a bit, I think he hedged with the RFA issue. He said there's a couple of RFAs we like. Max Starks perhaps?? Just my thoughts.
  10. Playoffs next year. In 08, after signing UFA Pat Williams to address our one glaring hole at DT, we'll have a 2-3 year window to win it all.
  11. I think that was by design They were not going to tell you, yes, we're targeting this player and will offer this much etc. He addressed questions in general terms, as he should. Listen carefully and you can pick up on subtleties that indicate where they may go. I thought it was very good for them to do this. I really now think Marshawn Lynch, if available, is definately our 1st round pick, for example.
  12. Really? I didn't get that sense at all. I thought he knew exactly where the Bills plan to go in free agency and didn't want to reveal too much. I thought he tipped his hand too much, but thats partially why I love this regime over the previous dark overlord.
  13. Reading the tea leaves.... We are going hard after a LG, either Steinbach or Diehlman. Marv said Gandy, we'll still have to talk about. He's gone. LBs who attack means we're going for Lance Briggs or Cato June and moving Crowell inside. There are a couple of RFAs they like. My guess...Max Starks. Preston/Pennington/Everett must step up. The gauntlet is thrown down for Duke, don't look for an upgrade there. They will give him a chance. Nate's gonna get an offer from us. Whether he takes it or not, not sure. Not bringing in as many FAs, but will target some top guys, as well as try to retain our own. Bottom line....Look for a RT, LG, LB and CB (maybe Nate). Hey thats the 4 Marv mentioned. I missed if he said anything about possible DTs. Another RB brought in.....maybe Marshawn Lynch?? Pretty cool if thats true.
  14. Which was then wrecked by Tom Donahoe.
  15. Yep. Been celebrating it since I heard about it 3 years ago and pointed it out to my wife.
  16. This is my belief as well. But MLB would still be a hole.
  17. Nothing would make me happier than being wrong about this. But Alan Branch isn't falling to us and there are very few true one technique NTs out there. And, yes, I believe I loath Tom Donahoe more than almost any human being alive.
  18. Damn. That sucks. What will happen...we'll draft or sign a DT who's too light in the pants, our run D will still be spotty until after next season, when Marv signs UFA Phat Pat Williams to solidify our run D. Wonderful. Thanks Donahoe.
  19. Willis, spend some time around traders on the floor of the NYSE. I know several who have gone on to run hedge funds and their own brokerage firms. $500 million is small potatoes to these people. The coarsest (and funniest) people you'd ever want to meet.
  20. Dobies, nice. Wonderful dogs. Seriously. I have a Malamute/Husky mix and a Pit Bull guarding the house when I'm not home. I also employ the (G)Lock strategy when I am home. Potential thieves will move on to the next house.
  21. I haven't been over there. Apparently, Le Cirque got into a dispute with the Palace over rent. So, Sirio closed Le Cirque for almost a year, recently opening the new location at Beacon Court. The dining room is very nice, the bar is 1/3 the size of Le Cirque 200. I may be in the minority, but I feel he lost something with the move, its just agreat restaurant, not an event anymore. Le Cirque
  22. Biggest mistake of the Donahoe era...not hiring Charlie Weis when he had a chance.
  23. The tipping thread got me thinking...since we have folks from all over the country, name the best restaurant you've eaten at, or your favorite restaurant (it may be the same). Mine is the now closed Le Cirque 2000. IMHO, the greatest dining experience you could have. The food was fabulous, the service impeccable and atmosphere was so over-the-top fantasic; a perfect mix of the old world New York Palace and a trendy, uposcale restaurant. It was an event unto itself. The bar was always packed (and was huge, it attracted a well-heeled after work crowd). The crowd was full of whos who. I was friends with the bartenders, I was never charged for a drink in the place (believe it or not), but always left an extremely large tip. I miss the place. Honorable mentions... La Grenouille in NYC La Vie en Rose in St. Martin
  24. Thanks for the great footage Ozymandius. I think signing him and drafting Patrick Willis would go a long way toward improving our run D.
  25. Is there a NC Bills Backers Group? Check the Bills website. I met a ton of folks thru the NYC Bills Backers. Also, VA brings up golf. Golf is a great way to meet people. I generally play a lot here in the summer, with probably 2/3 of the rounds by myself. I get paired with different people each time. Great way to meet people. I don't know where Concord, NC is, but it sounds like you are in some type of suburban development, not the most social place. Is there a central downtown area with lots of bars/restaurants/shopping. That may be the place to live. Also, do you go right home after work? Maybe stopping for a drink at different local hotspots would be a good thing. I've met many people this way, and found some great places I never would have known about. Just a few suggestions from someone who moved to NYC and met a whole bunch of new people.
