  1. Nice analysis. There are two things they could have done to give themselves a better chance... Offensivly, as you said, commit early and often to the run game (think Buff @ Indy). Run 2 TE sets if you have to, but commit to it. That keeps the ball out of UF's hands longer and will eventually slow and wear down UF's DL. It also sets up the play action which could have been effective. Finally, a few screens to slow down the pass rush of UF would have worked on 2nd and 3rd downs. Defensively, as you said OSU is fugged. No argument there. But, they could have mixed it up a bit more. They chose a slow death, using the LBs in coverage. A man under/ deep zone over, with the LBs on an all out blitz (think Jerry Gray style) would have accomplished one of two things....OSU gets slaughtered quickly OR Leak gets rattled by the pressure, makes a few dumb reads, leading to a pick or two (due to man by the CBs), maybe a fumble and OSU's offense is back in business pounding away. I saw very little blitzing. Probably, a little bit of both would have happened, when they mixed it up. I think it would have kept the game from getting out of hand as quickly as it did, however.
  2. Of course, by throwing oodles of money at the problem we came up with the atom bomb in under 5 years and sent men to the moon in under ten. Perhaps, throwing oodles of money at a problem to get it solved isn't so bad?
  3. How the hell does Art Modell always end up on this list? He screwed the fans of Cleveland, a great franchise, by acting like a spoiled little child when he didn't get his stadium now...now...now!
  4. Golf, softball, baseball, sailing, Sabres hockey, reading, home improvement (both my own house and as a side business) and going out to enjoy the NYC nightlife.
  5. Perhaps in an overall sense. And I agree that coaching and complacency were factors. But OSU's offense, especially without Ginn, couldn't match Florida's defensive team speed at all. On the other side, Florida's offense, especially the WR screen, was extremely effective at getting the WRs, who are shifty playmaker types not necessarily burners, in space to make plays against an overmatched OSU D. The OSU D could have benefitted from better coaching. On offense, they were outclassed.
  6. Apparently I'm not the only one who saw a bit of a different game from a speed perspective... Speed Kills OSU is a very good football team. But there is no way they stay on the field with UF (or LSU) from a speed perspective. I'm talking total team speed, not 40 yard dash times.
  7. Define outrun. By that I mean , when Florida built its big lead right before halftime, the WR screen was just killing OSU. The Florida WRs were getting the ball in space and the OSU defensive backfield was making the tackle 8-12 yards downfield. Also, Florida's lineman speed was amazing. OSU's OL was outclassed in every way by the Florida DL.
  8. There have been two games I watched this year where one team was so noticeably faster than the other, it was no contest. One was LSU beating ND and the other was last nite. OSU had no chance against Florida's speed. You can throw Auburn into the mix as well. I am an ACC fan, but there is no football conference like the SEC. Year in and year out it is hands down the best conference. Thats part of their problem. The SEC teams beat on each other so much, they don't receive the accolades that other teams get because the SEC teams have a loss or even two. There is no question in my mind that if a playoff tournament were played in college football the final game would be LSU vs. Florida (sorry Boise, I'd be rooting for you though).
  9. I can agree with this assessment.
  10. Click the link and then click view the pictures. Its the NY Post, so should be safe for work. Jessica Biel on the beach on vacation with Derek Jeter. Jessica Biel in pics 1 and 2, especially, looks OMFG hot!! Enjoy!
  11. I have no problems letting Kelsay and Fletcher walk. We can draft a DE in the 2nd or 3rd round and a LB in the 1st. I'd give Nate Champ Bailey money to re-sign.
  12. I forgot about him...my bad!
  13. That makes Joe Torre the longest tenured manager in the four major sports. Followed closely by...Lindy Ruff. Go Lindy!!
  14. He is my personal #1 defensive priority in free agency. Re-sign some of our own (Nate, Gandy), sign free agents Sands and Diehlman, than take LB (Willis or PP) in round 1 of the draft, BPA thereafter. I'll dance a jig if we can pull that off.
  15. I'm not sure I would go that far. Guys like Gaustad, Novotny and Hecht will mix it up when necessary. Montreal outschemed us early on, but I think we have adjusted well. I just don't see what Ottawa does that is so special that we end up off our game so badly (ie last nite's 2nd period).
  16. I too think this will happen. I think Gandy looks better than he is playing next to Peters. However, a guy like Diehlman may help Pennington take a big leap. If anyone is upgraded, I think thats where it could be.
  17. But why do we have such trouble setting up the PP against them? Yes, they have skilled players, but so do we. I thought our PK was improving with the return of Tallinder, and it was prior to this game. In yesterday's game, its true Miller could have played better. I just wonder if this team still, to a point, has our number.
  18. Is it though? Is it simply a case of our special teams not executing against them, versus executing capably enough versus the rest of the NHL. Or do they present unique matchup problems or play a different strategy against us than the rest of the NHL. I know they are one of the few teams that can skate with us, but maybe its more than that. I know they smoked us last year, but we got to them in the playoffs (might have been different with a healthy Dom, however). While I'm a big Sabres fan, I'm not a hockey expert. Hopefully, someone with a little more knowledge can enlighten me.
  19. I am also a UB law grad (2000), and they made some righties then too. Seriously, 165-170 is a serious score. If you nail that, you probably won't have too much of a problem getting into UB or many other law schools.
  20. I had both of them. Joyce for Federal Tax and Schlegel for some bridge courses. I graduated in 2000.
  21. I like the whole second chance thing. The Post article I posted in the other thread was bad, but since I have heard a few things that much of what she did was embellished for the sake of getting the club's name in the paper. Free publicity. Now, she was no angel, and was definately caught up in the NYC party scene. But I don't think that qualifies her for rehab (If so, half the city should be there) or that she should lose her crown. Trump said what she was doing (whatever it rtuly was) was unacceptable for Miss USA. She said she'd change. He gave her a shot to prove it. This is a good thing. BTW - Go Donald!!
  22. UB is where I went. It was terrific bang for the buck. It was also a good time, much less competitive, when you are there, than some of the other law schools.
  23. I hadn't thought of that. Excellent point!!
  24. That rule is unenforceable. I worked all thru law school, at a school that attempted to "forbid" outside employment. I think you're doing the right thing big time and agree, she should not work in year 1. Or for that matter the summer between years 1 and 2 (study law abroad time!!)
  25. So is the cost of higher education.
