  1. It's a novelty thing which most know, and the complaints so far seemed to be about price. AFAIK, none of the complainers offered a comment as to whether or not it was a tasty meal, pleased the invited crowd. And that's the goal, IMO. Let us know how the day went for you, and the folks you cooked for and fed. You are taking the effort to give something special.
  2. When did I do that? Please provide the context...cite the thread and the post...what umbrage...? Now, I might have done what you say; we shall see - but don't drop insinuating bombs that gives other posters less than full disclosure. Your turn...
  3. Yes. The college $ is very good these days, has several perks that the pro clubs won't offer, you don't have to tolerate lip from players and be a Kindergarten Cop, as well as not having to deal with their NFLPA union sass.
  4. I didn't know he was still alive. His HOU teams were tops. He and CIN's Wyche hated each others' guts for some reason. They took turns running up the score on the other.
  5. My youngest sister took up hunting shortly after she married my BIL. She's a sure shot - IIRC, she's cleanly bagged 4 or5 deer so far. Both know how to field dress, and haul out - that can be quite a bit of work. Late '80's, she wounded an animal - missed and took a 2nd shot at a spooked animal - which he and she never did before, and she and her husband tracked the blood trail in the snow for over an hour. Alas, they were unsuccessful in finding the animal and putting it down. They weren't searching for the game, they were searching for it to atone for the botched shot, and do the right thing. You get the distinction, I am sure. She had a heavy heart, and didn't return to the field for several years. They hunted with 20 ga. automatics - not for multiple shots, but for the recoil reduction afforded by such a cartridge/action combination. They've since switched to those inexpensive single-shot 12-gauge arms, adding the recoil padding et al.
  6. Yes - the depth of the tragic lives led by 40 year old multimillionaires is widely misunderstood.
  7. Yes it can. I own knives.
  8. Not in Ohio. http://nky.cincinnati.com/article/AB/20091...begin-in-spring See page 2.
  9. My wife attended PSU for grad school. At the time (early '80's), they were strict...players had to check into the libraries for a certain number of hours per week. I doubt that's the case these days - dunno.
  10. You didn't...merely expressed an opinion. Which is fine.
  11. Yep. I think a TurCowPig thing would be much more appealing.
  12. Yep. IMO, if a player is fumbling a lot - that's where coaching comes in. Kubiak & Co. should be working on that, not sitting a spiffy player. The last thing I would do is to put the cuffs on players who try to make something happen. McKelvin got roasted here for his fumble. Sure, in retrospect, take a knee. Same thing happened this past Sunday - CIN's 2nd year player WR/KR Caldwell got stripped coming out of the EZ, and so CIN got beat. He also earlier in the season, made clutch catches that led to two victories with seconds left on the clock. So he's earned trust. McK has a pretty good track record returning kicks. I'm inclined to trust his mind and eyes - I'm assuming he saw something to put a nail in NE*'s coffin. I've never read anything that said the BUF staff explicitly told him to not bring the ball out. Perhaps they did - dunno.
  13. Sorta... I've bookmarked the site, and will play around with it.
  14. I see, but how much more above 25%? Why then would they give the option to revise for 50%, 60%, 75%? I guess I'm not getting something... I won't jump into the keep/toss Peters fray, but I think all agree that BUF did a poor job re a replacement. As well as finishing up the recent game with no OL reserves on the bench. Agreed - it was an unusual happenstance. Roscoe appears to be washed up - here, at least. I'm surprised they haven't peddled him off for whatever they could get, be it a 7th, and get a breathing OL body. IMO they should just chalk up his contract as an error, and eat it. That happens all around the league. Perhaps he will do better, elsewhere.
  15. LT is different than RT. #14 McKenzie, #15 Collins and #16 Kaczur are RTs. The site you linked is checked to display players that were on the field for 25% of the team snaps or less. If you change that to 50%, CIN's Collins falls off of their ratings. And Peters drops to #12, as ranked by that site. If you change it to 75%, Peters falls off entirely. I'm here nor there regarding Peters, but it seems you've chosen to show a best-case scenario
  16. Heh...I think most of us could compose an All-Dud team of collegians we favored, as well as an All-Star team of those we panned.
  17. Agreed - novelty value, though.
  18. I don't think Fisher is going to get axed. Even without their 4 game win streak.
  19. TMQ had some comments about Weis and ND a few days ago: ..."TMQ thinks Notre Dame alums should be proud of the football program's recent struggles -- because the reason for the struggles is that Notre Dame still requires football players to attend class. Over the past couple of decades, increasingly most top 20 football schools have discarded any pretense of education. With a 94 percent football graduation rate, Notre Dame is competing against programs with a 68 percent football graduation rate (Florida), a 55 percent graduation rate (Alabama) and a 50 percent graduation rate (Texas); other football power schools have similarly miserable grad rates. Low graduation rates at big football schools mean players cut class to concentrate on sports, being pros in all but pay. "Don't go to Notre Dame, they make you study there, come to our college and party, party, party" has become a recruiting pitch that undercuts the Fighting Irish."... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...mp;sportCat=nfl
  20. I feel the same about 3-meat pizzas.
  21. That's the knock on him. The pro players will mostly take that away. In the small handful of times a pro coach would tolerate any qb running by design, what's left in Tebow's game? He is by all accounts, a very nice youngster. But it hard for me - most - to find a way for him to be on a pro roster other than making a mark by his being a fine athlete.
  22. Tone it up for the more liberal among us, then.
