  1. Were I am opposing team, I'd break Maybin's little DE body into bite-sizes pieces if he irked me a couple of times with a dance routine. I'll give him respect when he shoves one of my wide bodies to the turf, then races on.
  2. Somewhere, there is a morel to this story. (ducks and runs)
  3. What I think is that they better draft 2 LBs among their first 4 selections. Preferably, one in the 1st round. And I remain irked that they moved Wood to G. You have the opportunity to get a top college center, then you go and play and develop him there. Nuts. Dividends get paid down the road if he pans out. The vet Hangartner can make the calls from a guard spot...
  4. Which is why, in a couple of years when my wife retires, we will never relocate to any locality that has an NFL team. Or to a big city/county dripping with school taxes peeled off of the hide of property owners exclusively, for that matter... If I get a big windfall. i.e. my $4/week spent on the MegaMillion lottery, I shall be reporting in from Singapore.
  5. America - now a land of whiners and criers if somebody dare say "boo" to them. I don't care what Ward allegedly said, and my guess is that Ben R laughed if it came to his ears. Jeeze...
  6. Can't fault Charlie for making a good business move when he signed on, though. I wonder what the contract buy-out was...
  7. A RIGHT? Paid for by who? You? Well then, open up your wallet and give to others!
  8. And Fisher (while with the Houston Oilers before the move) had an aging 2-time Pro-Bowl QB on the team - Chris Chandler - who led the team to 7-9 in '95 and 8 - 8 in '96. Not bad, and provided a fertile field for McNair to learn the ropes. He also had Eddie George for 8 years - who in my opinion, was very, very good at converting a 3rd down.
  9. And that says it all...
  10. Uh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIw3ItFnoPk
  11. It would be nice if he did. Benson has been terrific at hitting the hole, has moves, hands, and is a very good blocker - especially on blitz pick-up. Regarding maturity - he's been moping recently because of his hip injury and the CIN acquisition of Larry Johnson to fill in. We shall see....
  12. Yes, I can be serious. And please don't attempt to put your words into my mouth. Your straw man aside - why doesn't the NFL agree to a sports tier charge for those T-W customers who want the extra NFL content? Seems to be a very simple solution...
  13. Do some internet searches about Stanford and grade inflation...
  14. If you lose by 1, 2, 3 points, by all means, have a go at the refs. But if you lose by 17, giving up 24 points in the 4th...
  15. The NFL demands that it be in basic digital service, because of the increased exposure i.e., more ad revenue for them. T-W is unwilling to raise rates for it's total subscriber base, knowing full well that that many of their customers don't give a rat's fanny about NFL football. Don't blame T-W, although you could toss some blame at NFL fans who want others to subsidize our yucks. There is nothing wrong with a pay channel - folks purchase such all the time - movie channels, for example. Folks get satellite tv, pay for NFL Network. Seems to me that the same should work with T-W...those that want it, pay for it. But it is the NFL that nixes it. Right?
  16. Nice article - Edsall's a fine coach. Pretty good bunch of them in the Big East. Nice teams the past few years in the conference, too - Rutgers, UConn, Pitt, UC, WVA, USF.
  17. Photo-Shopping avatars?
  18. Could be. 7 -7 at the half, and they left at least 3 points on the field. HOU up 20 - 7 at the half. Lots of clubs don't like to see that...
  19. Certainly. See my words about Fitz when they acquired him...
  20. That's nothing but pure punnishment.
  21. Drafted in the 7th round in '05, a rookie playing in 4 games and starting 3, pinch-hitting for an injured Marc Bulger along with Jamie Martin. Put into a similar role in CIN when Palmer went out. Your point is...?
  22. It's quite the variable climate. The Ohio river, its warmth or coldness affects. I noticed the same when I lived in the Pittsburgh area. The Cincinnati area is also one of the tornado hot spots - I have a weather radio out of necessity, and hunker down in my basement several times during the year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tornado_Alley.gif
  23. Be sure to wear a red polo shirt. Quite...becoming.
