Perhaps. Nelson's slight of build. Noted for college catches, like this guy: CIN drafted the big noise TE from Missouri with their latter 3rd round pick - Chase Coffman. He had a bum foot, but that's over and he practices regularly. They say they are working on his blocking - but my guess is that he needs much more work, or will never show enough. He's been on the roster but inactive all season long. CIN lost Reggie Kelly and iron-hands Ben Utect (since cut because of concussions), and have struggled at the TE position, so that Coffman never got the call is telling. CIN brought in a 2nd-year vet - JP Foschi , instead of activating Coffman. Coffman isn't tiny, BTW...he's taller and heavier than Nelson. My guess is that he will get the axe if CIN really needs an active roster player. I don't think they can toss him to the PS. CIN has had 3 plucked off from their PS squad so far, so if he can be shoved there, I suppose some team will bite.

Good post - I agree 100%.

DEN at 7 - 4 is the bully, for one WC spot. Their game 1 good luck win against CIN hurt BUF and other clubs, and CIN's remainng games have little bearing on AFC fortunes. BUF is 1 or 2 games behind the wild card front runners - and two of 'em - PGH/BAL have another game against each other. Beating the Jets is a "must" win. If they win, they remain alive. You never know. Lady Luck may shine...

BTW - your optimism about the BUF team that you got hammered for, seems to be validated. I don't think your detractors are going to post anytime soon...

He's played 9 games and missed 2 - that *projects* to a 1527 yd. season over 16 games. For what such projections are worth lol! CIN signed him last season - game #5? - I don't recall. His troubles...idolized UT player - he was a young fellow with big bux in his pocket, driving and boozing - sound familiar? But he was a #4 overall pick for good reason. I was surprised that CIN signed Larry Johnson, given their owner. Johnson showed up in shape with gas still in his tank. My guess is that Brown, sniffing a playoff team for the 2nd time in the 19 years (!) since he took over from his legendary Dad, uncharacteristically took action. Although I think that he saw Benson as a "bargain", which is typical for him. Will wonders never cease... As I mentioned somewhere in this thread, Benson has also showed to be a fine blocker. CIN's jumbled OL is good at run blocking - but only fair at pass blocking. Palmer faltered during Benson's absence. Speaking of Palmer - he's run with success several times this season, but definitely has been hanging onto the ball too long - he needs a slap upside the head. And he still throws a high ball after his '05 knee injury. Save the freak game #1 bounce to DEN's Stokely, and lousy def play and a fumble against OAK (odd game - OAK didn't draw a single offensive penalty, and they were holding all over the place IMO), the OH River Candy Stripers could be 10 and 1. But HOU kicked their fannies up into the cheap seats, both sides of the ball. They have to play 4 of their last 5 on the road - MIN, NYJ, SD, DET. Home against KC. I'd pick'em ending up at 10 - 6. Swept their AFC North slate, so they own the tie-breakers - it will be tough for BAL and PGH to surmount that. PGH hosts BAL and GB, BAL has the PGH road rematch and travels to GB. -

Chef Jim should chime in with an eclectic recipe soon. And a wine recommendation, too.

Could this year's Super Bowl be a matchup of unbeatens?

Perhaps, perhaps not. This is the age of same-sex marriages, after all.... -
They sell soy donkey balls? I learn something new every day.

I don't think Oher was very successful at LT. They shuffled him over there when their starter Gaither was nicked up, and scooted Oher back to RT when Gaither was a go. I'm not knocking the kid, but I did watch the two CIN - BAL games, and to me, it seemed they were giving him a fair amount of help. IIRC, in the 1st game they switched him back to RT mid-game. Still, no doubt he shows a lot of promise.

And why aren't they made illegal? Here's a hint - for example, cig tax is the 4th highest source of revenue for the State of Ohio. Somebody here worked out some numbers, the result being that to make up for the tax $ lost from cigs, the average non-smoking OH taxpayer would pony up an extra three hundred bucks to make up the shortfall. If you have the opportunity to pose a question to a legislator wailing on about smoking - ask him why he isn't sponsoring legislation to ban them entirely. I'll bet he goes deaf and dumb... BTW, despite the hysterics and perpetuated lies, smoking doesn't "cost" society money. Smokers die younger, generally go quicker, and very often don't tap into SS funds. So if you see someone with a pack, offer 'em a light. Bon apetit!

Propers to the Saints...

Really. There was 5 min. left. Not likely at all, but possible. -
Yep. The Dems howled and cried back then, so according to their standard, this is a non-issue. Huckabee is a RHINO of the first rank - listening to radio chat this morning, he pardoned twice as many as did the previous 3 AR Governors. Evidently, all 5 members of the parole board recommended commutation back then. Since that, other States had the opportunity to put this crumb out of circulation. That WA authorities - with his felony record - let him out for payment of 10% on a 150K bond on a child rape charge.

Poor, poor Pats*... 1 and 4 on the road this season. The win was the London game against TB. -

??? I haven't read anything in the Cincinnati Enquirer, nor heard or say anything on radio/tv that said or implied such. He had a hip flexor injury against BAL in week 9. Went back in for a play, but couldn't go. Looks like he'll play this Sun. vs. DET: http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Mond...92-bf315ec7aa8c -

I see very few Bills' games. Is Lynch a good blocker for his QB, or a good blocker for another running back? -
That's right. Kendall could have been baking cookies and knitting mittens, for all I care. Whatever part he played, poor or good...so what? This was a 31 - 14 win over a team that slapped us silly the first time around.
