The social police on the other hand, jump on anything and anybody quickly, to make sure their funding and their employment for the next year is never questioned.

Electronic voting is the law of the land, and the paper trails are far and few between. No paper recounts. Businesses, individuals, ISPs, operating system vendors are in a daily fight against attacks. These dumb, static voting machines don't stand a chance against being diddled with. Add in the explosion of absentee votes heavily pushed for by the Democrats - here in OH, the expectation is that 1 on 3 are such.

As Dan mentioned...another bug...a fungus...who knows? Get to a doctor and have some baseline blood work done - Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, fasting lipid panel, a hemogram, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate, C-Reactive protein, a fungal assay, Vitamin B & folic acid levels, Lyme disease and Lupus testing are a good start point. And an allergy work-up. An EKG. An incidence of breathing difficulty is very troubling. Very.

Perhaps she's a bum, who got a free night of housing (and evidently, a free meal before) in the county lockup. My brother is retired from the NF police force. And saw such for decades. You can't get 500 bucks out of a stone. If she subsequently goes into the clink, it might be 3 meals and a place off of the street for her.

All that, and as the season progressed, the opposition as usual watched the films of the early games and figured things out. Happens every season...every team wises up.

This is 2008. The Left has won. For several decades, the social agencies have been awarded sweeping, unchallenged, police powers, with an implicit assumption of guilt. If he has kids, nephews, nieces, make the anonymous call about abuse and have the power of the State go after him. He is a male, so will be assumed guilty until he spends a lot of money to prove his innocence. He cannot by default avail himself of a protected status, such as being a single Mom.

The salary, the bonus money in today's NFL is immense. He might be one of quite a few IMO who got that cash and put his feet up. I don't know what his signing bonus was. Say he cleared 6M after taxes. 6M invested in the safest, most conservative way means a nice yearly pile, and never, ever having to work...or touch the principal. Why get your body beaten to a pulp? Great (non) work, if you can get it...

I wasn't commenting on a small staff causing over-the-weekend sports reporting problems. I realize that school board meetings aren't held on weekends. I was commenting on a bigger picture - when reporters don't show up, governmental agencies are in general, pleased. That happens during the week. I'm not a fan of internet news. Reading the written work, free of the ad pop-ups and multi-colored bling, is to me, better. I buy the Cincy Enquirer every day. I also view their web site...and the web version of the same story is almost always truncated. I also purchased the Post, daily. I wonder about the fate of the printed media. Myself, I'd pay more per issue. But I don't know if that (higher per issue price) would be their salvation or their kiss of death. I shook my head when the Courier-Express went under.
