  1. Just for the record, the names "Young Pioneers" and "Komsomol" have already been taken.
  2. I was on a flight from Pittsburgh to Phoenix in the mid-80's. The rear door had a gasket failure, and the out-rushing air set up an ear-splitting, high pitched racket. One of the cabin officers came back and put duct tape around the periphery. Problem solved!
  3. With the passage of time, he has recovered a fair amount of his voice (for those who don't know, he had some sort of neck surgery a few years back, and his vocal cords were damaged).
  4. Is there anything duct tape can't do? http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/11/05/passen...e.ap/index.html
  5. The guy standing behind her looks ready to hammer home a point.
  6. ..."In his eight games in Oakland, Hall was beaten 40 times for 552 yards on 66 passes thrown his way, according to STATS LLC." http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2008110...0374/1066/SPT02
  7. Stop spreading those dirty secrets about constructive receipt and clever variants of same, will ya? Heaven forbid Pelosi's words in the past about one's 401k money being taken and put into government coffers for a safe rate of return happen . Or do I misconstrue? Dunno...color me confused.
  8. Well, if they - don't pummel the neighborhood with loud music year-round - don't harbor dangerous dogs - maintain their lawn and grounds - maintain their house - respect others' property - don't litter the neighborhood with junk cars - put their trash cans out and then retrieve them the day of the pick-up, I'd help them put up the lights.
  9. The Skull and Bones club knows. The TSW Inner Circle knows. Trust us.

  11. Keep an eye out for this kid if he gets lost in the post-season wash. http://www.bengals.com/team/player.asp?player_id=111
  12. Really? Didn't realize that...live and learn...
  13. There are a limited number of emoticons here. What you choose to call a derisive ("sticking its' tongue out") emoticon, is the intermediary between the and the . Most realize that. Recheck the cited link and your jerky Drudge comment, while you ponder. Where else should I post such? Calm down in the future and stop your knee-jerk habit of accusing people of hidden evil intent at every turn. Get a sense of humor, take things with a grain of salt now and then. I know you work in medical research or some such. That's good. Mellow out, my friend. You wouldn't be the first strident soul that keels over with a sudden brain hemorrhage or some such. Got it?
  14. 8:00 PM. A bittersweet romance, seldom shown these days, with excellent performances by Robert Taylor and Vivian Leigh. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0033238/#comment The ability of B&W to set mood, the capability of the director and the cinematographers is well-displayed in this mostly-forgotten flick. The Farewell (Auld Lang Syne) Waltz scene at the Candlelight Club, is a marvelous piece of work... Sorry - we talk about contemporary flicks here, and I know that speaking about old flicks can get out of hand left unchecked...but if you are a fan of the subtleties, the tones that the B&W medium can impart, watch or record this one. I read somewhere, that Robert Taylor thought that it was the best movie he had ever done.
  15. Funny how the last three never entered into the debate questions, or issues discussed and reported by the press...and that voters never gave it no mind.
  16. What is that answer, you claim to know? Spit it out, please. What I see is that you disagree with a topical item. Did you miss the smiley heading the topic? I know you like to ridicule free expression, despite portraying your self as prescient and one of the rare keepers of truth. You are the model elitist. No surprise here, your making your usual snide, personal smears upon those you disagree with, berating a person's words by implying dark, ulterior motives. How old-school. It's been done for centuries...
  17. Fact of life: because of where I live, I see lots of CLE games. Anderson was figured out as last season wore on... He seems a decent fellow. He's had receiver problems this season. But I don't see him as a qb by force of personal will that can forge a win. I recall a game, when on the sidelines, the idiot Braylon Edwards gave him a shove. Anderson should have smacked him hard, flailed at him regardless of final outcome. If you are the Captain of the ship, you don't brook any such insubordination. Ever.
  18. Recent, previous thread on this subject...9:31 AM.
  19. Look up a previous post. I haven't been to, or watched an MLB game on tv since 1991 - when the Pirates were dismantled.
  20. Yet they buy the tickets. Reaction to higher taxation takes many forms. Wait and see.
