I know nothing about women
stuckincincy replied to Southern McButterpants.'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
You sound like a good man, HR. Sometimes choices are tough, I know... -

I'm glad you got to spend that time back home. Nothing like family... I hope the snows didn't give you undue trouble. I agree, Lynch was spectacular. Fine performance by Jackson, too.

I can count the number of school murders, mass shootings in a school, when I was a kid. 0. What changed?

Trent needs to see a "head" Dr.-fast!

That would imply that the Bills' management and 53 players are Evil, Inc. and they are not. Edwards shows up and practices. Don't you think that the coaches, the 53 players, all with varying experiences having seen team mates with residual effects of a bell rung, would speak up? The Bills are in the playoff hunt. Even for just the money angle, there would be players that would notice a dizzy TE and speak up. Most all players have genuine concern, are decent folk who watch out for a teammate's well-being. Unless one thinks he just goes batty in games, and not on the practice field. And that would be a different malady, concussion related or not. It's wrong here to make unfounded inference - little snips here and there can get a ball running, can ruin a man's career, be it football or other. Please be more circumspect. -
Clever, very clever...

One ban that needs to be enacted for OBD

I've noticed this recent "+1" and "-1" usage on TBD. Is this the latest "I'm cool" affectation that comes and then falls out of favor? What does it mean?...my assumption is that +1 is thumbs up and -1 is thumbs down. Should I say +1 to a server that didn't like actually as if deliver a plate without saying "No problem!"? Should I say -1 when the bill gets dropped off on the table? Hep me man, hep me here! -
Repetitive messages work. Advertising is a successful, multi-billion dollar industry. Ads work. We all have this or that jingle programmed into our brains. I remain amazed at these self-serving idiots that deny that violent shows and vid games have no effect. Despite hundreds of studies to the contrary by credible folks and organizations and medical folks. Most education absorbed by the young is emulating whatever adults choose to put forth to them.

After the Lindell kick...

I don't know about wind...the goalpost flags were lying flat and limpid. A 47 yarder is always iffy. -
emotionless coaching leads to emotionless team

Always rough the opponent's QB with a clean hit in the 1st quarter when such yardage loss and drive continuance is affordable. -
So Cleveland won the toss and deferred, right?
stuckincincy replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you win the toss, you may defer receiving in the 1st half, and then choosing to receive - or not - at the start of the 2nd. But the choice of what goal to defend remains a choice made after the toss before the game starts. In inclement conditions, when you win the toss under the new rules, pick the wind to favor you in the 4th quarter. Under the old rules, most clubs chose to get the ball...but I remember teams that were willing to kick off twice to get the favored wind in the 4th. IIRC, there was an OT game where the Bills lost the toss, and Bledsoe erred and decided to take the goal that gave the opposition the wind. Bad mistake - the Bills lost. -

Turk Schonert Needs Some Blame Here

I won't rail against Jackson. That fumble was when he was under tackle by several Browns, and one shot in and punched the ball. Jackson was 12 for 60 off the bench...Not bad at all. -

Self-esteem is the keystone of modern education. -
I recall 1 catch...over the middle, pretty much uncontested. Were the other two the same, or in traffic, fighting a defender?

Reed's been out of the picture for a while. There's been plenty of practice time with the fill-ins. No doubt, a QBs' familiarity with a receiver matters, but it's up to a good QB and the QB/WR/OC coaches to work out kinks, regardless of the talent of the replacement #2 WR - and the role the game plan expects him to do. If the replacement's skills, abilities doesn't jive - change the plan.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
stuckincincy replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did. He's been in a snit for a while - I smelled the childishness of a Chad Johnson about him. Who really knows? I also think some players are angling for the coming uncapped year - but I've little idea of the ins and outs of that, how player's agents are working it. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
stuckincincy replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think CLE was pleased with Quinn. His stats were lousy (I think Braylon Edwards is dogging it, reminiscent of CIN's Ocho Dinko) , but I feel that he had good awareness for his short time as starter. It remains to be seen if he can pitch the long balls, or if he's a fluke like a pitcher called up from the minors who looks good because nobody has the book on him yet. -
Edwards throwing Lindell under the bus?
stuckincincy replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sound advice. In that improbable PHI at CIN tie, the B'gal's idiot OC Bob Bratkowski put the cuffs late on QB Fitzpatrick. What for? They were 1 and 8. Kicker Graham missed a 47 yard FG under wind conditions at the near end of the OT period. I don't fault Graham, same as I don't fault Lindell. The OC in both cases went into a cowardly shell. BTW, Bratkowski is truly a piece of work. Any fan with half a brain can predict his play calling. Since he's been on board, anytime you see a B'gals qb audible, you can bank on it that the play will be a run. And his opening play on their 1st possession in a game is almost always a deep handoff left, which gets flattened. If TE has a crisis of confidence - Schonert should step in and take action. -

Hey guys, there is NO reason to be down....
stuckincincy replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's hard to think that would be the case. The coaches - for better or worse I suppose - have a lot of experience. And 53 players, all of which have a good idea about when a player is playing out of character. If Edwards was having trouble processing information, surely that would not go unnoticed. -
That happened to me once, at a Pirate's game at Three Rivers. The ramps there funneled down to escalators, where there were man-access gates to release the patrons unto the outside concrete (one could also go onto the ground floor and go outside at one of the major entrance/exits). At the foot of this particular escalator, the man-access gate was closed...so the people on the escalator stopped getting off because of the collected crowd...the stairs continued running downward, and folks at the top continued to get on the escalator. What a crunch. There was a terrible tragedy at Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati, in 1979. Eleven people died. http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Festival-seating
