Where's the windfall profits tax on McD's????

According to Biden, we are facing a test within six months of a regime change. A prudent man will buy some copper tubing beforehand. -

I favor a $ 300 dollar a year fee added to any private person's internet access billing. Think of the carbon footprint caused by the electricity consumed by keeping a computer running! And a $100 yearly fee assessed to cell phone billings. Payable to the Federal government. This might help pay for Obama's universal health coverage. When that happens, I'll drop the $5,500 I pay per year now, pay the $400, and sincerely thank you and all other wage earners for reducing my out-of-pocket expense by $5,100. That's Change I Can Believe In! And remember...We must do this for the children. -

Yep - why bother? My guess is that cutie and crowd emanated a certain attitude, which likely to her surprise, wasn't bought into by folks outside her fawning conclave. As if!!!!! -

A valuable, versatile commodity. Useful for preparing collard, mustard, turnip greens. Frying eggs, waffles, pancakes, potatoes, turnips...most any vegetable. Slather it cold on steaks for a sizzling crust. Knife it cold on a roll and toast in in a pan. Its' uses are only limited by the imagination. -

I'm still waiting for the Democrat-controlled Congress to hold hearings about Fannie and Freddie Mac, and the meltdown... If ever there was a reason to hold one, this is surely it. Can some of you loyal Democrats who post here offer reasons why your party isn't doing so? Please? -

Remember that beer ad several years ago, when the children playing pool implied that they would prefer to hop on Dawn Wells' bones instead of Tina Louise's bones? -
I stumbled across that show during one of one's mindless "click-click-click-click-thud" sessions. Even crushing ennui can produce a surprise now and again...

The new Masterpiece Theater Contemporary series. What Not To Wear. Judge Judy (see your tax dollars at work...they are supporing most of the litigants). Andy Griffith re-runs. Beverly Hillbillies re-runs. Bonanza re-runs. Little House on the Prairie re-runs. Law&Order re-runs - not the rape and sex crime ones. TCM movies. Top Gear re-runs. Iron Chef America. The Black Family Channel - and time to time, they show the old 1/4 hour re-runs of the great Mahalia Jackson. C-Span + C-Span 2. How It's Made. Weaponology. The IFC channel, whenever they see fit to broadcast something with at least a glimmer of sunshine instead of their usual fare which leaves me searching for a gas pipe... The U.S. Farm Report. You have to get up early to view it - if you get it in the first place. ETWN, when they broadcast the old B&W shows of the late Bishop of Rochester, Rev. Fulton Sheen. What a powerful intellect he was... BTW...Poriot fans - PBS is planning a bunch of re-broadcasts. Stay tuned...

The Yutes of America!...Get out the Vote! It's time for Change! ..."The 18-year-old beauty queen and three friends were arrested and charged with theft on Saturday after walking out of a Bossier City, La., restaurant without paying the bill. Evans left her purse in the restaurant and they were caught when they returned to get it, police spokesman Mark Natale told The Associated Press. Evans was also booked for possession of marijuana found in her purse."... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,443263,00.html

I can't imaging they would leave dock without insurance coverage. I can't imagine the ownership of the historic boat would allow it to ply the river if it was a deathtrap, even if it's only fear of lawsuits. The USCG can only act on extant law. They are subject to funding by Congress. If you ask them why there were 40 year's worth of exemption, they would have to have a love of shooting themselves in their foot to do anything but to dance about and keep their traps shut. Never dismiss the vindictiveness of our 535 tin gods that control the purse, against any member of the Executive Branch that dares question any fiat issued... -
They had moxie, back when they were Allegheny Air. In 1977, an allied outfit of theirs - Cumberland Airlines, landed a turboprop 12-seater into Latrobe PA airport during a terrible snowstorm, to pick me up and shuttle me to the PGH airport. I was the lone passenger, and the pilot asked me if I could swim, because the stiff westerly headwinds were draining the fuel and he might have to abort into the Allegheny River.

The historic Delta Queen paddle-wheel riverboat ceases operations 10/31/08. ..."Petty politics dealing with the boat's non-union workers, not its safety rating - which is impeccable - have stymied legislation to extend the exemption. With no exemption, owners say, 50 overnight passengers would not be enough to keep the Delta Queen financially afloat."... Cincinnati Enquirer, 10/22/08. http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...WS01/810220306/ The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review also chimed in, 08/13/07: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_521632.html I guess it's Change we (should) Believe in.
