Well, that was very gracious of him.
Unlike Reed, who chose to MF folks on his way out. IMO - his mouthing isn't forgotten, to his self-inflicted detriment.
Cripes.
Coupons were offered for the boxes that would allow the old tv to receive signals. Even without - you can buy the converter box for 30 bucks or less at Wal-Mart, K-Mart or whatever nowadays. You go from 4 or 5 channels to 10 - 12, 14 or more. I bought one of 'em early on - with old rabbit ears - fine picture, and all those extra chanels.
I see the complaints on tv, and in the paper. Coupons ran out. I understand there lawsuits filed against the Feds for this high offense.
Take even 50 bucks for a box...$50/365 = less than 14 cents per day for 1 year. After that - nothing.
For a hundred bucks, one can buy a 19" flat-screen CRT tv that's digital-ready.
Ever wonder about the "Turkey Joe Jones" QB hit rule (or whatever it's officially called)?
Whatever one may think about Terry Bradshaw, he was tough as they come...

I heard on the radio this morning, that there are 81 theaters offering the game.
I used to scotch tape a penny at the end of the tone arm.
Seemed to mute the tch, tch, tch, ta-tch, ta-tch,tch,tch of my scratched-up, beer-candle-wax-vomit abused mono and stereo LPs. You used to have to pay a buck or so more for the stereo platters.
I keep track of what's shown here in Cincy. BAL was on 7 times during the season here - same div. as CIN, so of course AFC North games are aired.
I don't have any impression of Lewis "standing around"
Yep. The equation is appearance $$$ offered, reduced by the # of tix unsold at the quoted price. UB pocketed a bundle; the UB fans showed up.
I have no idea how the UConn fan's numbers were - but the camera shots of the stands displayed bunchs of their fans in attendance also.
What a performance by UConn Brown. You were there and so couldn't view, but the tv coverage showed a moment talking to his Mom. Nice stuff - Brown's draft stock has zoomed IMO. I get fatigued by all these endless bowls - but the I-Bowl was a good one. My guess is that both clubs are on the welcome list next year for bowl planners.
And a tip of my hat to you, PTR. Your advocacy for UB ball is of long-standing, and deserves recognition.
Not to mention the on-going shoplifting of neighborhood businesses into oblivion and then claiming the lack of goods and services and jobs is an evil plan of oppression perpetrated by the Man.
I recall when Buffalo's Fruit Belt section was a vibrant community. The West Side, the same.
Then came LBJ's "Great Society", and that was the end of that. Clever plan...put people into H*ll and foster a dependency on the State that guaranteed votes.
I recommend to you, the French flick - The Dinner Guest.
Nothing to do with human consumption, but it is an absolute rip of a movie, that you will howl at.
Three burgers, 2 fries.
As many as it takes for you to stop agonizing about what is not going to happen. This gal no longer likes you - I'm pretty sure you will be able to find another that will. Right?
Life is bumpy, HR. Move on and good or bad times, be sure to stock up on toilet paper. Priorities that matter at the end of the day...
No recovery is possible. Move on, go and buy a couple of those Wendy's or McD's dollar cheeseburgers and fries.
I'm not being a wiseguy...do what I say.
