  1. I know what it said. I know what it said.
  2. Nothing was hanging down in the photo. Are we sure this was a male?

  4. The beat goes on...can't let the chosen ones not hold sway or let other viewpoints creep in.... "House Democrats tentatively plan to repeal term limits for committee chairmanships when the 111th Congress convenes on Tuesday, according to senior House aides. The result would remove one of the signature reforms from the 12-year House Republican rule and likely would cause angry debate during the usually ceremonial opening day festivities."... ..."Another controversial prospective rules change, which would have more immediate impact on day-to-day activities in the House, is a significant weakening of the "motion to recommit," which provides the minority party at least one opportunity to offer an alternative to pending legislation."... http://www.nationaljournal.com/njonline/no_20081231_6355.php
  5. IIRC, 4 or 5 of his incompletions were balls thrown into the turf to avoid a sack.
  6. Nope - he's had a heck of a season himself. Lewis, Reed helps. sure. And their DL, and coaching. I live in an AFC north town, I've seen the better part of 7 BAL games. He is playing well. And all season long.
  7. Why do you want to pay to provide free advertising for a private enterprise like the Bills? Or any sports team? I don't get jerseys and trinkets...time was, you yourself had to get paid before you would stick something on your body advertising a merchant's product - see sandwich boards.
  8. FWIW - I feel he has taken a few steps backwards. I see few Bills' games - but I do read the newspapers, read the stories the snapshot summaries. I never came across verbiage that talkled about an aggressive Bills' defense doing this or that, to change a game.
  9. They will have to pick shots, with that. When they play their Cover 2, he's generally not close enough to the LOS.
  10. They have a problem winning the "A" gap battles. Inexcusable - the offense controls the snap count. For reasons unknown, Schonert or OL coach won't devote a back to plug the leakage. They have a leaky interior line, IMO. Result...check-down passes to avoid a sack.
  11. Good, if infrequent, poster. IMO.
  12. That may well happen, but note that the survivors will follow the popular bell-shaped curve. What is popular might not jive with what you care to watch.

  14. I would, were I calling their shots. They have obviously nothing to lose, and an ownership - if one could ever dig to the bottom - more wealthy than the other 31 combined. To them, the Lions are a small investment that turns a yearly profit; probably viewed in the same light as a pet goldfish. A topic of conversation at Monte Carlo or Zermatt, as the seasons roll around...
  15. I'm doubtful that CIN would pick a RB that high. Other needs for them, so I wouldn't count on them not grabbing a position that the Bills' are in the market for. My guess at this time is they will look at OL and (as usual for all teams), DE. They have 24 players on IR this season, so I'm sure they will be in a quandary, wondering who will return to playing health and who won't...having a bunch of injury question marks sure messes up drafting plans... They've certainly been star-crossed in RB selections. Ki-Jana Carter (who sans injury, would have been a heck of a player), '04's #1 Chris Perry and his continual injuries, '07's #2 Kenny Irons losing his career in his first pre-season game. They picked up former #4 overall Cedric Benson this season. Very impressive in all aspects - although it's iffy if he doesn't go elsewhere...twice, he's crowed about how he's so proud of himself now. He will go to the highest bidder. Still, you never know with owner Mike Brown. He infuriated then-HC Bruce Coslet by nixing Ditka's offer of his whole draft for the shot at drafting Ricky Williams. Brown insisted on Akili Smith. Now...Smith was no NFL QB...he was one tough player though, and I was happy that Mr. Potatoe Head had to peel 4 million bucks from his pocket to hand over to Akili after he was cut.
  16. Curnutte was an excellent football reporter - very much a "just the facts, Ma'am" type - no inflammatory rhetoric, had fine insight about the team he covered and the NFL in general. I've linked his columns here with some frequency through the years. A long-time newsman, he is moving over to local coverage and likely, feature articles. My speculation is that the implosion of Gannett somehow enters into the change. I personally wish him well. His final sports page column: http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2009010...0414/1078/COL02
  17. BAL's defense seems almost too good to be true.
  18. I was referring to adding 3or 4 more weeks. In any event, having a playoff system seems to be yet another barrage of vicarious thrills. Thanks. I need to go out and get one of those 13 dollar gourmet grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches.
  19. It needs an ashtray.
  20. You would be asking players to continue practicing for up to what? - 3 more weeks. And travel. Most of these kids won't even sniff an NFL camp. They need to tend to their education and their future careers.
  21. I'm keeping my mouth shut about this. Fortunately for me, my wife knows well when to put a muzzle on my trap.
  22. I don't care about his weight. Sorry - I don't think he's a leader. 18 pass td's in 24 games - 23 starts. Poor. Forget coaching or offensive plan - you the QB call the shots on the field. I don't see a "warrior " here. Taking "command" in the 4th quarter to try for a comeback against slack, prevent defenses doesn't impress. I don't follow the upcoming collegians that much. If there is an acclaimed QB when they draft in Rnd 1, they should do so. Why not take the chance? What's to lose anyway?
