  1. The "Destroyer" - in the bad sense. Like the old-time studio wrestler who wore a mask. The Destroyer still lives, and resides in Buffalo: ..."Dick Beyer went into semi-retirement in 1984. From 1984 to 1995, Beyer taught physical education in the Akron Central School District in Akron, New York, where he also coached football, wrestling and swimming. Beyer now lives in Buffalo, New York. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Cauliflower Alley Club, which holds annual reunions in Las Vegas."... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Beyer
  2. I believe Jackson is an EFRA. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL/A.../wwhi011609.htm
  3. No surprise here either. It happens - so many prospects out there. Brown won't last past the 3rd, IMO, and might sneak into the late 2nd if a team there is on the hunt for a RB.
  4. Probably. Like many things a mother does for their sons that doesn't register in the memories of a growing lad. That's the way it always is. Honor Mom.
  5. Spanky and Our Gang's "Alfalfa" - Carl Switzer - was shot to death. I never knew that - evidently, he, his father and his siblings were seriously whacked-out people... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0842813/bio
  6. Currently, on a T-W DVR: 1 Twilight Zone b&w episode. The Christmas one with Art Carney. 1 Doc Martin episode. 3 House episodes. 3 Judge Judy episodes. 2 Little House on the Prairie episodes. 1 PBS Mystery! 2 Law and Order episodes. 2 Leave It to Beaver episodes. 1 What Not to Wear episode. 1 Motorweek episode.
  7. Quite.
  8. How long have you suffered from Tourette's syndrome?
  9. Does that include Angel Food cake?
  10. It's always a great day when filthy, crackback, chop block, knee and ankle-cutting DEN gets beaten. That the Bills put one on them, putting them in a losing do-or-die last game, is icing on the cake.
  11. Does this mock contain declared underclassmen? I didn't see UConn's RB Donald Brown...
  12. In what may be a blockbuster move, the 4-11-1 B'gals are interested in re-acquiring former WR coach Hue Jackson. I assume that the incumbent, a Mike Sheppard, was in the last year of his contract. That is the crucial test for replacement of a B'gals coach - no money lost by buying out a contract.
  13. It didn't rub off on Sonny Boy... RIP, Dante.
  14. Have it on Fiji. That's the off-shore that the Kennedy's have their billions planted in. Or Guam. That's where Pelosi and husband have their fortune hidden from taxation. Or somewhere in Delaware - Biden's state, that advertises for decades as the place for corporations to establish themselves for favorable tax treatment. The alternative possibilities are endless.
  15. My day isn't ruined. Dinner tonight for my wife when she gets home is cube steak, mashed potatoes, frozen shredded green beans, defrosted bread from Panera (I dislike their chronically self-important customers I might add. I've had to stand in line behind them and tap my feet while they whine and whine. And when I am at last served, I find Panera employees thicker and less with it than the general "B" Team that populates a KFC, BK, Denny's or Arby's. My guess is that the Panera help are hired with an eye for their potential for philosophical kinship with their customers). Sliced bananas for dessert. With cheap-o Hershey chocolate syrup as the dipping sauce. How gauche.
  16. Adoption agencies have better infants available.
  17. You need to work on your cee and ess placements. If you are becoming dyslexic I acn lhep oyu ujts aks em. Bless your heart, Beerball (I use that universal southern term that allows one to blast the beejeezus out of someone yet by definition is always an expression of endearment and concern). j/k...k/j....dunno.
  18. BMW? Lexus? Pizza shop chain? Porsche?
  19. An NFL QB has to be a field general, by force of his own will, directing a team. Look at a couple of the peripatetic ones like Frerotte or Garcia. Both grab the reins, this or that team, year after year. Both won many, lost many, both have some distinguished big games. Those oldsters persist because they have the quick qb mind looking for the big gain, the touchdown play on every snap. There are likable things about Edwards - but I don't see him as a QB with the big play instinct on his mind. I for one wouldn't agonize if they picked a QB. 9 years since a playoff appearance - what's to lose?
  20. Dear gringo, Some are concerned about idolatry. I could just as well say that we are seeing the arrival, with bands playing, of Orwell's Big Brother finally come true. You and I...we will have to wait and see if there is any embiggment floating out there, yet to land. Sincerely, Your pal, stuck.
  21. Chuck Bresnahan...has NFL experience, out of work, cheap, Bills connection, available... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Bresnahan
  22. Baal returns!
  23. You'll do.
  24. He is a member of a team. A football game is a battle. Combat. Boldin is a foot soldier in the battle. Warner is not. He is the field commander. You listen to Warner, deal with, consider his commentary. Boldin broke ranks, then continued whining after the game was won. To the eager press. Inactive.
