Beer companies and their price increases.

It's your earned $$$, Fez. Your generous advice has saved many a poster big bux and helped them out of technical problems. And others return in kind, about best ways to paint a door or cook this or that. It all works out doesn't it, we depend on each other, and I'm glad you enjoy your toy box. I like to hear about what new stuff you get.

Thurman Thomas - Traitor or Opportunist?

The All-Star game is being televised this weekend. By somebody. Pay no attention to the skirts, earrings, and leotards on the ice, and the latte and brie vendors in the stands. They are just parts of the new rules implemented after the strike. Uh-oh...Incoming! Gotta go!!! -

Are you suffering from one of those self-flagellation syndromes? -
Also, who's on the IR list at the end of a season...and how many are on there. Who will come back to health? What positions? Podunk B'gals finished with 24 players put on IR during the season - lost a total of 84 games from their game 1 starting squads. They had only 6 starters that played a complete season. And being notorious for having a minimum of scouts as is - they have to be baffled on draft day. Go for an OL or wait and see if the Franchise Tagged one still has a functioning knee? Pass on a decent LB in hopes that last year's #1 recovers from his broken jaw? Go for a CB after your #1 '06 pick broke his foot - again? Your '06 #2 pick OL got a nasty high ankle sprain? What to do? I think BUF is middle of the pack - 11 on IR at season end, IIRC. They will also have to speculate about the what ifs. I've always felt that in-season injuries are big determinants of game outcomes. Duh... And affects drafting plans significantly. Duh, part deux...

What to do with our CB's...maybe look to trade?
stuckincincy replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Visiting SEA was saddled with a bad-back Hasselbeck. 1-0. JAX was down 3 starting OLs as the Bills scored a 4 point victory. 2-0. FG with time expiring to beat visiting OAK. 3-0. Comeback win in the 4th against a STL club in turmoil. I think their HC was canned the next week. 4-0. Got obliterated by AZ. 4-1. Beat visitor SD. Good win. 5-1. Then it got ugly. -

They may as well hang onto all of them. You never know what next season will bring. 4 victories to open the season against opponents crippled in this or that way, 0 - 6 in the division, and 2 wins against teams with better than average QBs - Cutler with DEN, Rivers with SD. In the glorious 2 - 8 finish, they were rushed against for 52, 96, 144, 166, 159, 62, 115, 165, 181, 169. The 'ole "why bother to pass against them?" makes a defensive backfield look like a bunch of pass defense champs. I see few Bills' games, but I'm thinking this young core of cornerbacks covering the short field when they were in their C2 thing weren't exactly flexing their muscles against the run... -

It's all about Florida, isn't it? Federal disaster aid peeled out of the pockets of others yearly, low taxes etc. My wife retires in a couple of years. I'll be contacting you at that time about best places in Florida to relocate to. -
Leonhard's contract is up after strong season
stuckincincy replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep - that will help. Seems like most teams have a couple of players that hang on because of decent ST play, and can do a serviceable if not spectacular job as a fill-in for the inevitable injuries. CIN had one of those - S Kevin Kaesviharn. One of those feel-good stories - he was selling insurance, teaching, or some such when he was signed. Fine ST player, who got in decent games filling in. He had a notable season in '06, and signed a deserved bigger contract with NO. Fans were disappointed when CIN let him go - his good play was missed. No one would call him a physical specimen, but he has football smarts. Numbers: http://www.nfl.com/players/kevinkaesviharn...le?id=KAE461434 -

I knew he was doing time as a street sweeper. But this is new. Classic case of "what a waste". Boy George and his Culture Club band IMO were in their heyeday among the top rank of pop musicians producing flawless arrangements. -

Try a Johnny Mathis or Andy Williams album. Movie? Hands down - 1964's My Fair Lady, an adaptation of Shaw's Pygmalion play of 1913. One of the most acclaimed flicks ever. 8 Oscar awards IIRC. Best Picture, Best Actor etc. The dialogue is unmatched; witty and funny as it comes. The score is tops. Lyrics are supremely clever. The scenery and costumes set standards. Edit: Make sure the Mathis album includes Chances Are, Love is a Many Splendored Thing, and It's Wonderful! Wonderful! Chances Are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lSvIoBnN2w It's Wonderful, Wonderful!: -

Kiper's 2009 NFL Mock Draft

As your scouts go out and identify DT's that look like they can add, it's pretty hard not to pull the trigger if one you give your top rating to falls in your lap in the 1st round. -
And if you had that reliable 60 yard FG kicker, you could get 5 points in under 30 seconds. That's quicker action than those Viagra ads promise. Oops... bad smiley...
