  1. "Big", that was the flick. It was "Zoltar," not Zoltan... http://www.zoltarmachine.com/
  2. Yes - that's what I've read. These fires, their rapidity, have caused the most astute of decisions to be shattered in a matter of minutes. I hope that any recriminations, flinging of blame, are minimal. My condolences for the many who have perished. I can't imagine the agonies being suffered by the injured.
  3. Thank you for this opportunity to dig into my file of Arcane and Obscure Topics. Here is a notable Zoltán: http://oake.org/
  4. All true - including your previous post, about how the good ST performance aids the Off/Def.
  5. Good thought - I didn't consider that. Hasselbeck has his chronic injury problem - his back, too. I do wonder about teams picking a QB in the top five, though. That's really big bucks these days.
  6. How many CIN games did you watch last season? If you are a normal human being who doesn't live in Cincinnati and so can hardly avoid them if you care to watch tv games, my guess is that your answer approaches zero.
  7. I'm surprised Obama and his Congress aren't moving to repeal the 1st Amendment. That pesky press continues to vex them. At least the ones that have wiped off their lips and had the collected crust in their shorts washed out.
  8. I responded to one of your previous posts on your idea about CIN's pick.
  9. They re-signed '06 #4 DT Domato Peko to big bucks last season, and '08 #3 Pat Sims did well in limited action. Their OL starters dropped like flies - hard to think they won't look that way. '06 #2 G/T Whitworth had a bad injury, as well as franchise player G/T Stacey Andrews - and LT Levi Jones is essentially shot (chronic knee injury), after a couple of years playing a half a season - maybe. And he turned into a whiner. He bought a 1.5 million dollar Bugatti Veyron, and complained about how he was under-appreciated and under-compensated... I doubt that CIN is in the DT derby. But if Curry was available at #6...
  10. Great video. Why can't people just love their kids and stop turning them into vessels to pour their own aggressions and vicarious thrills into? Start treating them as young folks who need to be taught how to behave in society, instead of treating them as some sort of project?
  11. A poster here once described Adams perfectly - a terrifically quick, fast blitz linebacker who happened to be built like a rhinoceros. He played a season for CIN. IIRC, he sat out for 4 or 5 games, until he rounded ( ) into game shape. Old story there with Adams. Now, the B'gals were podunk - but Adams did what he always did - he commanded constant double-teaming. You have to love a DL that occupies 2 of your opponent's OLs or makes them commit a RB.
  12. Good post. Even if it's just the money angle, Goodell has to realize that when players go down and out that way, it cheapens the value of product the NFL is selling. Teams falter, folks don't tune in which eventually affects the advertising rates they can command, gate is hurt, concessions cuts go down when sold-out stadiums have less attendance, and so on.
  13. Unless he's looking for that last guaranteed money signing bonus at the end of his career...and then dog it. It happens.
  14. Eh. Rivers wasn't in any position to affect the play, and Ward came in high at his head. It reminded me of Sapp hitting and injuring that GB lineman (Clifton?) a few years back.

  16. I wish him nothing but the best. Fine receiver, goes after the tough catches, gets back into a play to help out his QB, blocks well, a great team leader. Because of another season of 20+ on IR, he even returned punts for a few games. He wasn't any good at it...but when he was asked to do it, he did it without a peep of complaint. He's a frequent guest on an early evening sports talk show here during the season. Very candid, very knowlegable. Not an ounce of bragging, me-me-me in him.

  18. Yep. The feeling among some that Obama didn't have experience of wheeling and dealing behind the scenes, how to cajole, how to use the Executive Branch to pressure this or that Congressman seems to be playing out. He's acting like "Caboose-in-Chief".
  19. My condolences, Simon. May he rest in peace.
  20. What was your impression, when less than two years ago, U.S. unemployment was at record lows? Do you consider the possibility that the opposition tanked the economy for the purpose of winning control of the Executive Branch?
